@ourtube42663 жыл бұрын
I made this recently. A few improvements I would make. 1. Brown your chicken and sausage separately so you actually get a sear instead of poaching the chicken. 2. If you don’t have a Cajun seasoning blend add paprika along with the thyme and cayenne. 3. I added shrimp to mine too, that’s just how I do my jambalaya 4. Hit it with some Tabasco, adds that good spice and some brightness from the vinegar. 5. Taste and salt each time you add a new ingredient to the pot, it makes it easier to judge the right seasoning than trying to do it all at once. Great recipe my man.
@chuilovestoads2 жыл бұрын
I've always browned up my meat in two batches, to get that extra flavor and keep from it poaching. I also like to toast my rice in with the veggies once they are softened, for the same reason. I add jalapeno to mine, as well as the tabasco, but I don't use tomatoes. I prefer a Cajun jambalaya to a Creole, but as far as Creole? This recipe looks amazing.

Try caramelizing the onions for a few minutes first, that’s another great addition. Try adding some cayenne, since I don’t think he seasoned this at all. I’m sure his recipe is good, but there’s plenty of room for honing this recipe.

Serious good recipe! So simple! What I really appreciate about your cooking demonstration is you don't WASTE anything. My late Mama taught us not to waste and I see a lot of that on youtube cooking. You use your fingers, spatula, whatever to get every little bit when you add your ingredients. Most other "chefs" just dump each bowl of ingredients and don't bother to get it all. Hurts to watch all that waste. You on the other hand, do it right, no waste! Great recipe, great technique, and great demo, sign of a true down home cook!~

I have to thank you so much. I am from the UK, but my favourite food is Jambalaya, but we hardly ever get it here. Very few restaurants serve it or stores stock it. I followed your channel and this video to make it and it turned out beautifully. I served some to the kids who are nearly two and the other just over three not thinking they would like it. How wrong was I! They ate three portions of it, especially my nearly 2 year old daughter. So a massive hit and I'm so happy I can now make Jambalaya when I want it. Thank you!

I made this tonight for my family. I’ve never made jambalaya and it turned out amazing. The only thing I did differently was that I rinsed the rice before adding to the pot. In terms of the flavor I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you!

I rinsed mine too lol

AB do you have a wife? If so, does she cook too? I probably would fake mess food up when cooking so my husband could be like "I'll just cook the food. You work"...lol

Lmbo! Yes I'm married and she can cook. She cooks just as good as me if not better. We share the Kitchen. Thanks for the laugh this morning.

How would you cook it in a crock pot?
@MeliSmi1e4 жыл бұрын
This was my first time cooking it. I didn’t see when you used the creole seasoning. Was it suppose to be a rubbing seasoning for the chicken. Thank you so much in advance☺️
@briacne64714 жыл бұрын
You can add it whenever. You can season your chicken with it or just wait till everything put together in a pot. Delicious 😋

By the way, adding a pound of crawfish tails doesn’t hurt it any, either!
