@@demiclown yeah, I learned this the hard way when my mother took me to a “therapist” who did nothing to help me. I think that if you pretend to be a psychologist or a psychiatrist that’s illegal, but unfortunately anyone can call themselves a therapist. I think what gets ppl confused is that people refer to going to psychologists as “going to therapy” so they assume all therapists must be medically trained or something
@tigs66393 жыл бұрын
Hi guys, I don't know if you are from the UK or not, but you definitely can't call yourself a therapist if you aren't qualified here. After training + qualifications you have to apply to the HCPC (Health Care Practioners Council, or something like that), only then are you licensed to call yourself a a therapist. Example: I worked with someone who did music sessions for people in care. He was a musician, doing 'music therapy' but he was NOT qualified as a therapist, so it would be misleading/illegal to call his services Music Therapy (but he could call it 'theraputic music sessions' as long as he made it clear he was not a qualified therapist). I want to train as an Art Therapist so I've researched this a lot. At least in the UK, you are NOT allowed to call yourself a therapist unless you are qualified and a member of HCPC. Hope that's helpful 🕊💕
@tigs66393 жыл бұрын
1 second ago @Gabrielle Fu, hello, I just left a comment, I don't know if you read it? I just thought I'd add, specifically to what you mentioned - therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists all do DIFFERENT specific jobs, so unless you were specifically reviewed for needing a psychiatric evaluation, for example, most people wouldn't go straight to this level. It really depends on the specific situation, but for most people going through normal human difficulties, a therapist is the right starting point. If you need further evaluations from a health point of view, then you would be referred to an expert in that area. There's a difference between trying to diagnose an underlying mental health disorder, compared to someone who has experienced trauma, and wants therapy to help manage their lives better. Like I said in my first comment, at least in the UK, it's definitely illegal to call yourself a therapist if you aren't trained, qualified and a member of HCPC. It could be that you did not connect with your therapist, in which case try another one if possible. Sometimes it takes more than one attempt, as it's not easy to open up your most difficult emotions to someone you don't connect with. But don't give up, and don't let a bad experience put you off therapy completely. I hope the information I've given is helpful in some way, hope you have a good day wherever you are in the world 😌

Only found out just now from Google that Harry's her son, and from this video that he's the queens grandson. Its obvious in retrospect but thats how little i think about them. You could show me any plain faced, clean cut, middle-aged white guy, tell me hes Harry, and Id believe you. The idea of queens and princes here in american seems so incredibly archaic and irrelevant to modern life that whenever I see or hear something about royals my eyes automatically start to glaze over. I'm not into celebrity culture in general tho so I'm sure lots of Americans wouldn't be tricked. But also a lot probably don't know that Britain even still has a monarchy. Poor education + focus on only America = a very ignorant population indeed. Plus as Jordan said, the idea of a prince going on a dating reality show isn't even questionable here. I was watching an interview with Shandi (the woman in America's Next Top Model cycle 2 who "cheated on" her boyfriend) and according to her, that night the producers encouraged them to invite the boys over, gave them alcohol for the first time during filming, and all of a sudden, the hot tub that had been broken since they arrived at the house was working. In other words, the producers basically set the girls up, hoping they could get someone "doing something naughty" (in my opinion, being sexually assaulted while drunk) on camera. 🤦🏼♀️ NO. Even though the exact specificities vary between some states, and there exists a range of severity/degrees, the crime of "assault" requires an element of violence/physical harm being done to the victim, or, in some states, the imminent threat there of. Regretting your actions because you believed a liar is not an assalt. Upsetting, sure. But not a crime.
@beanboy59633 жыл бұрын
@@Reesicup By assault, the op means sexual assault. And having an encounter, even just kissing, with someone when lying about who you are is assault, because the victim did not consent to having that encounter with you. If you had sex with someone in a mask who said they were your partner (think Revenge of the Nerds), they would be assaulting you because you consented to sex with your partner, not that person. Sexual assault is still a crime. In most if not all US states, and many other countries, the situations described would be criminal, and considered sexual assault.

The bit about alcohol consumption was interesting to me because here in The Netherlands we had a big scandal as well around a reality TV-show and a sexual assault.. Only in this case the woman was blackout drunk in her bed, the producers asked one of the guys to go up to her and he assaulted her while she was blacked out. The bizarre thing is that this was captured on nightvision camera's and they AIRED IT. So a huge amount of people saw this assault happening and people shared clips of it with others over Whatsapp to talk about this scandal, there was instant outrage of course. The producers had to formally apologize, the guy who assaulted her came out with some really shitty excuses as well and the poor woman was just really upset that they aired her sexual assault on TV. This happened in 2019 on the TV show 'the villa', backlash continued after the shitty apologies and another TV producer from a different channel decided to confront the producers about the incident. That led to people calling for the show to be cancelled (which they did) and eventually the TV channel that aired these reality TV shows made a promise that they would stop producing this type of 'guilty pleasure' reality show altogether. Other TV channels are still producing these types of shows though and unfortunately it seems the incident is largely forgotten about at this point, though I wouldn't be surprised if TV producers now restrain from feeding contestants so much alcohol in order for drama like this to happen.
