She says she has really bad diabetes and also said, "Before I had diabetes, I would have eaten 3 doughnuts." You'd think she would have realized right then how she got the diabetes. I have another co-worker who considered gastric bypass but has zero willpower. She couldn't even do Weight Watchers for 3 weeks before she gave up completely. Doing those surgeries is ultimately pointless if you don't fix the food first. And if you fix the food, the surgeries shouldn't be needed in most cases.

My mum always tried to control my portion sizes and everytime I complained that I was not full enough after eating the small portions,she will aske me to fill it up with water. Today am a regular size girl but I still hear my mum's voice saying "fill it up with water" everytime I feel like I need to eat more. It still helps me till date. I drink water before and during meal to fill me up quickly so I don't over eat. I think simple methods like that can help. We neglect water alot when it comes to our diet but it is actually really good if you want to lose weight.

Actually you should wait 30 mins after drinking water to eat and 30 mind after eating to drink water. During you should drink hot water.b

That lady is constantly blaming her husband for her own bad food choices. "He needs the sauce...", "He insists on his laptop...", "He does this, I'm practically powerless...". Woman, I tell you something: I have a husband who can eat ANYTHING without gaining a single gram and therefore eats nothing but junk. But, he can eat as many crisps and cookies in front of me as he wants, I won't touch anything of it if I already have eaten enough for the day. Temptation is everywhere, learn how to ignore it!

Usually the terms for specifics kinds of eaters use alliteration like "Night-Time Nosher" or "Serial Snacker" in this series. This episode used "Plate Clearer" but I think they could've said "Plate Polisher" to keep their pattern going. :P

Is nobody observing how dysfunctional some relationships are on this program and probably the reason why people compensate their emotional imbalance with food? Totally agree with the comments around food addiction. Who makes him/herself overeat in order to vomit unless there is a deep rooted issue. The amount of self-denial in almost all of those episodes and victim mentality reaaallly indicates something. Love to watch Secret Eaters though - strengthens my conscious approach around food.

It blows my mind how people seem to think that eating a healthy meal naturally means weight loss or maintaining weight. It doesn’t, weight gain comes from portion sizes and the amount of food you’re eating!
@angrybirdie9995 ай бұрын
They feel that they already sacrificed a lot, so there should be a reward in return😂I can get that though. Sometimes it upsets me as well how calorific some "natural" and "healthy" foods are. For example, it's extremely easy to overeat fruits or berries. Not to mention nuts.

Ultimately I agree with you. But people who bake/cook for a living (with typically very long hours at that) don't often have the interest or energy to then go home and cook some more. In all fairness. But there are definitely homemade things that don't take a lot of effort, too.

They are constantly trying to blame each other but Denise is forever tattling on David and then saying she doesn't eat enough and that David is to blame for the massive portions that she herself eats right along with him. I'm getting sick of her excuses and his lack of a backbone (albeit seemingly as we really don't know) I can guarantee that if my husband had a gastric band fitted, there is NO WAY I would be enabling his addiction and plating up HUGE meals. If he insisted on that, he could cook and serve himself because I would not be a part of him killing himself. I would also NOT make fatty rich sauces, I would make a low calorie sauce or gravy and if he wanted something else an hour after dinner he could knock himself out, I mean, why is she so angry because he will ask for a dessert ? Tell him to make it himself, he is a chef for goodness sake. Weird reaction
@JetsunMusique5 жыл бұрын
I actually feel quite bad for these people. The excuses might seem absurd, but it is really an internal defence mechanism, to shield them from feeling horrible. When we believe there are outside or mysterious factor causing the weight gain, it lessens the emotional and psychological burden on the person. Because if we are doing it to ourselves, we feel extra guilt on top of already feeling guilty about being so large. Sad all around :(
