I love gorillas a lot, they are so smart and patient regardless of their power. They are well behaved compared to chimpanzees who are more impulsive.

@@greybottl3521 yes and no while it's true they are outnumbered their size and obvious strength should be enough reason for the chimps to not want to mess with them as even the females are larger and stronger than the average chimp just going by the fact leopards have been recorded taking on silverbacks and outside of 2 males clashing and the occasional leopard they don't really have impressive showings against other species leads to an honest fact Gorillas are strong but don't really do much with said strength

To: @davidtsmith33 - Astonishing is it not. The circumference of the pillar can not be much more than the length of the foot but they are so confident in their ability that they do not even need to look where they place their feet. Ha, ha! I have to chuckle to myself when I see these 'quadrupeds' walking freehand on a tightrope whilst it takes many years of training and select specimens for we 'accomplished' bipeds to achieve such results.

nah they're not as gentle as u think, gorillas are extremely dangerous and aggresive as well, they're just not as loud as chimps. There's a video on here of a gorilla breaking the glass trying to merk a little girl just because she beat her chest playfully. In the wild just looking a gorilla in the eyes would cause him to end u, so don't be under the impression that they're peace loving creatures, gorillas are extremely aggresive and territorial beasts of nature.

You may love watching them but if you could "see" then you would know how sad it is for them to be prisoners of this tiny concrete prison. All the gorillas look to thin and the monkeys look unhealthy and a lot of hair loss. They are bored and stressed daily. There is tension everyday between all the groups . The behavior of the gorilla says it all about how he is feeling. They are not happy or content. Locked up isn't where they want to be nor should be. The zoo only has them because the gorillas are the bread and butter for the zoo. The gorillas are the main attraction people want to see at zoo. Life for these gorillas isn't a happy or good life , it's quite sad . If you look into there eyes you will "see" the sadness they hold. How do you think you would feel if you were a prisoner ( not of your own actions) in a concrete jungle that was way to small while adding more to the groups and being gawked at daily by loud people? There isn't anything to stimulate their mind and everyday is the same over and over . Boredom, stresses them all . The tension will never stop for any of them. The zoo's aren't keeping them to help them (as they claim) they aquire them because it means more profit.

@@Cosmo-Kramer its a weak argument. 1. Animals that are free usually look healthier, bigger and stronger than their caged counterparts. 2. Being free is arguably less stressful than living a boring life, where everyday is the same old thing over and over over . But the main point is this: You said, a little bit of stress is healthy (a medically researched source please or else it's nothing but yt comment section jibber jabber without any backup), thereby insinuating that other than the neighboring chimps, life isn't stressful for the gorillas, which of course is nonsense as I have stated above. Why? Because you deteriorate mentally, physically and emotionally. So yeah, nice provocative little statement you got there. It's nonsense though.

Am I the only one who finds this video with gorillas disturbing? It seems like zoos are more focused on entertainment than animal welfare. Gorillas and chimpanzees are natural enemies, and reports show that chimps can attack young gorillas. The stress on the gorilla's face here is undeniable, even from a distance. Are the zoo professionals not aware of this, or are they intentionally causing stress to make the gorillas more active for visitors?

This is the same thing that happens to humans. Man gets miserable and depressed so he spends more time away from the family, wife just sits at home and anguishes. Eventually he comes home only to sleep and repeats the same cycle the next day

I was thinking "retarded", but I guess there's different terminology out there to make people feel inoffensive. I think this gorilla is environmentally traumatized imo.

As someone who has spent alot of time in prison, I know when I'm looking at a yard of incarceration. The behaviours shown and the way people physically interact with their own thought's. Definitely just witnessed some mentally ill people and get laughed at. And in a bigger way it looked like metaphor for our own tedious lives.
