Ren wrote all of the music for this including the orchestral parts (as well as the story itself) He said he practiced quite a bit to get the piano intro right. He also said that this isn't precisely a one take, it has a single cut in it, but it had to due to some logistics and time constraints. He explained it all in his Twitch live stream after the video dropped. He's really proud of this one, and should be. It's another great example of Ren's pure musical ARTISTRY. (btw- the gun was a replica, incapable of firing, so rest easy) The greatest sculptures in history were created slowly, persistently, over a long period of time, one small chip at a time. Chip, chip, chipping away. Ren's illness is the marble, his musical artistry is the chisel...and look at the masterpieces he's now created. A modern day musical Michaelangelo forged through fire....and the world is better for it.

You don't want to watch this again. I keep watching it like a train wreck. However, it is not a wreck, it is a pure work of art yet again. The message of the story is about the evils of money and the grab for power. It turns humans into monsters. Ren brings this out in vivid colors.
@Codex7777 Жыл бұрын
He's an artistic genius! The poetry, the wordplay, the intelligence, the piano playing, the acting, the LIVE performance. What it took to do this live, with so many variables! All from Ren's imagination and executed brilliantly by Ren and Sam (his friend and co-director). There's so much beauty and truth in this piece, that I think it's tragic that you're never going to watch it again, just because you found parts of it 'uncomfortable'. It's not meant to be comfortable. It's shining a light on real-life. This is not Disney. If you shy away from this, you may as well shy away from real-life, because real-life isn't easy or comfortable either. You CAN stay in a bubble but no bubble lasts forever. It will burst eventually and the only thing you will have gained is... zero preparation for when the shit really hits the fan.
@justinatest9456 Жыл бұрын
It's worth another watch just to appreciate the story telling. And another one to appreciate the amazing camera work. And another just to pay attention to Ren's acting, which he is nailing while also delivering all those lyrics live in one take (there's one edit in the wheelchair). Also, the piano and strings are played live. The whole thing's a literal masterpiece.

Seems like all you've seen of Ren is the heavy stuff so if you want a bit of a switch up and some good vibes from him, check out his song "Power", or "Fire", or "Loosing it", or "Humble"... but you should definitely not miss his "Tale of Jenny and Screech (Full version)" - it's still heavy topics, but done with such mastery of the storytelling craft you feel like you lived through a movie and were in it.

A short movie. But the piano and strings are dope and can't get enough.
@markuss7249 Жыл бұрын
The whole intention gets more clear, and would have been more understandable, if you had watched Money Game 1 and 2. (the music video with the 9 million views). So this really is like a movie. A piece of art. Little detail: while playing the piano, he still had that money bag tied on his head, and then when he realized in front of the mirror, that he was hidden, he freed himself, got conscience (The red pill effect/Matrix) and entered the real world

It's pretty easy to understand, it's a pretty linear and clear story. It's great, as are the other two parts, but you don't need to see P1&2 to 'get it'.

When Ren makes these "songs" i think the intention is to deliver the message, not to become a playlist song. He has plenty of playlist songs but this is an entire package that requires the video for full impact. He is a visionary, it's just how his mind works.

Love the reaction 💞💞💯 money game 1 & 2 would have helped. Money game 1 was how he sees the money game money game 2 is a world view of it and 3 is just storytelling from birth to death where money is taught that it's everything you need and how bad it can go if you're only taught that it's the only thing that matters. Well umm yea that's just my opinion tho. Looking forward to seeing you watch the others if you decide too

Rens message is that we need to end greed. We have billionaires sat on mountains of wealth yet we have children starving to death in poorer countries. The cycle of going to school, get good grades, attending a great university or college, getting a great job, earning as much as possible, buying a nice house, have kids and repeat the cycle. All the time we alienate ourselves from others. We need to live as a community and the only time we should look down on anyone is when we’re helping them up.

Huge hugs. Hit me like a ton of bricks too, but I keep coming back to it. It IS a bloody movie. It's the story of a boy who spent his whole life trying to get his father's approval. And no matter what he did, it was never enough. So when Dad died, he lost it. His well built empire fell apart along with him. No, it's all Ren; no actual person. I'll go deeper into some of the messages once you watch the other parts. Like an onion it is.

Truth is less important than the money we design! If your focusis money it will blurr the truth, if you see real truth it will show you an easier path to money. We could build utopias if people would use their brains. If we teach children to be sheep and put themselves before the hood their is more money for me. Just think if we taught the children inventions and individual thinking is great! Fighting is bad but sometimes you have to do it but ONLY when it's your last choice.
