i always put the m3 csl motor mounts in my cars! they are great! dont have the oil filled core but still dampen the annoying vibrations. you can order them at any dealer. they are often called groupe N or simple e46 m3 csl motor mounts. they are urethane filled rubber bushings and the work amazing! ps: did you guys check for the clutch delay valve in the hydraulic line? taking that out gives a lot better feeling pedal
@MikeRT46 жыл бұрын
Just trying to help, but as good as the Powerflex bushes are, they don't work on the FCA (even the black series doesn't last more than a few months of aggressive use). I'd suggest getting the Turner Motorsport monoball FCAB for this particular application. However, knowing how video editing works, I suspect it is too late and they are already fitted LOL ;).
@hondatrix6 жыл бұрын
I agree on the Powerflex stuff...

Urethane bushings don't really work on anything. Grease squeezes out pretty quickly, and the high friction in the joint makes the car handle like crap. Rubber is better than urethane by significantly reducing friction (they wind up like a spring). Spherical bearings/rod ends/monoballs are by far a better solution if you want more isolation than a rubber bushing as the friction stays low, and compliance goes away. But you're right, they don't tend to last long in lots of BMW applications due to the high loading.
@99EclipseGSX5 жыл бұрын
Yup, urethane is a bad idea in any component that moves at all. I think it has its place for engine or subframe mounts but that’s about it. Turner spherical FCABs and RTABs are the way to go for this car.

When those brake rotor hold bolts get stripped what I do is use a Dremel tool to cut a deep line then I just use a flat head driver to screw them off. Works every time.

I usually cuss off the Europian automotive industry for using wheel bolts rather than studs like the rest of the world making those rotor hold bolts necessary and the previous tech for fucking it up prior to and during cutting the slot for a flat tip screwdriver

Think twice about swapping the plastic clutch pivot pin for steel or aluminum; the small hole or boss that the pivot pin sits in is cast into the transmission housing and is prone to cracking - when this happens you are now out an entire transmission. Much cheaper to simply replace the plastic pivot pin and sleep easy knowing it will break before the transmission casting does!

You should check out a swedish company called "Millway" they make the best bushings and arms in existence for these cars. Its the only brand people in Europe run, pretty much makes powerflex look like legos. Hit them up
@JT-nc5ib6 жыл бұрын
You can replace the balljoints in those arms. BMW doesn’t say any of there front control arms are serviceable, however you can buy Meyle balljoints for those arms. They are not difficult to replace with a press either.

BMW fanboy alert! Take your head out of the sand so you can properly recognize BMW's many deficiencies. Just because it's an M series means nothing. I assure you there are much better headers possible. Just removing the cats alone would gain power, so any header that does that will most certainly make more power.
@nevrcm32616 жыл бұрын
for my e46 M3 i did fabspeed stepped headers, moved the cats to Section 1 w/ 200 cells. This is close to the CSL set-up. Also, I did a Rogue Engineering x-pipe. Definite improvement from my butt dyno.

@@nevrcm3261 Sounds like a nice street setup... I was thinking more from the track mindset, like removing them completely. At least they would be nice like you have them, then maybe you could bolt in test pipes for track day.
