@@Elli-gl7gu kinda hard not to with the difference in production and technology but dang it reminding me about that makes me wonder, while they have had the big "come together" scenes in the comics did they happen to get a lil inspiration from this or another source.. sadly i agree with the overall bad though. a couple laughs and the end didnt make up for the problems. the first two spy kids were goofy and had their bad moments too but they at least stayed entertaining.. and i've never seen the 4th but dont really plan to atm.

not really. This plot idea has been around for ages. Going off my lifespan I've also seen it in .hack, the matrix, Tron & Tron: legacy, Dr. Who (from different perspectives), and the outer limits. That's what I can remember off the top of my head but long short it's a pretty old idea.

I remember this is the first 3-D movie I ever saw. This was back when they still used those 3D with the red and blue lenses. The reason that make you take your glasses off is to give your eyes a rest because it made your eyes sore. This is one of those movies only kids can appreciate.

I do admire Rodriguez, he made this movie with pretty small budget, got alot of big name actors to sign up, and still managed to earn back about 5x what he spent. The CG in this movie was laughably bad even for the time but he must be doing something right if he got Clooney and Stalone to humiliate themselves, and still got them to put in some real effort.

I remember really liking Spy Kids 3, mainly because they were in a video game, and the lives-number counting down thing. (I once tried to come up with a story where someone didnt know that they had 2 lives, but it went nowhere. All I could really do with that idea is have a scene where the guy dies, and then magically comes to life for no reason.) I remember hating Spy Kids 4, because of that scene with the videotape.

The ONE thing I really liked in this movie was the grandfather's speech at the end about wanting the spy kid boy to keep looking up to him the way he did in the game, even if he was still in the chair, because on the inside that's how he feels he is--a hero.
