Stabilized Lens Vs Stabilized Body

Will a stabilized lens on a Sony ZV-E10 be as good as a Stabilized body from the a7iv?
This Video is about photography and camera lenses. Both stabilized Lenses and Stabilized Camera bodies. In this video I compare using IBIS with an unstabilized lens to a camera body with no IBIS but with stabilization built into the lens. The 50mm as well as a 70-200mm and even a 150-600mm!
Surprisingly the difference between IBIS and lens stabilization isnt as much as I would have thought. You can save a lot of money if you only need a few lenses by just paying for the stabilized version of them.

what happens when you use the Canon GMaster or Sigma lenses (with stabilization deactivated) together with the IBIS camera, does this image come sharp ?

I really consider between Canon R8 ( without IBIS) and Sony a7m3 ( With Ibis) what should I get? Like I can use the Stablize on lens to cover up the missing from R8 or I just all in Sony ? Can you answer this to me ?

Thanks! Great video and very helpful depiction of which stab is better in which instance and by how much. My question would be, what anout lenses that dont have OSS? Like the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8? Its a great lens, but would it work well with a non-IBIS a6300? Am I limited to only shooting lenses with OSS?

You can still stabilize footage in Final Cut Pro in software, it just doesn’t look as good when you do. And shooting on a tripod or a gimbal will still produce equally good quality stabilized. All of those sigma 2.8 zooms are phenomenal lenses! It really depends on how you’re going to be using the camera

@@NicholasJamesJohnson yes, I love the Sigma 2.8 lens. I should have clarified, I only shoot photography, is photo quality negatively affected if I use the non-OSS Sigma with the non-IBIS a6300?

So I have the A7 and I'm not sure If I should get the old or the new tamron 70-180. Is the IBS enough on that length?🤔

The longer you go, the better the lens will do at stabilizing than the in-body.. Obviously anything is better than nothing, but if the price isn't that far apart, Id get the lens with stabe!

I'm having a hard time deciding between the Sony 90mm f/2.8 and Sigma 105mm f/2.8 right now. The Sony has OSS, the Sigma does not. Would you say the IBIS (Sony A7IV) is as good as the OSS?

At longer focal lengths the oss slightly wins out. But barely. The IBIS in the a7iv is very very good. And doesn’t that Sigma 105 lens have a macro capability?

@@NicholasJamesJohnson Yes both are macro lenses. Macro lenses are in general harder to stabilize. You can easily triple the focal length, for the same shaky effect.

Yes it is, but with Sony cameras, they will split the work rather than double it. So the camera IBIS will stabilize rotation and translation while the lens stabilizes the twist motion (yaw?).

If you use a stabilized lens it’s ALMOST just as good as a stabilized body. But remember that means you’ll need to buy all stabilized lenses. Where if you get the stabilized body, you can get away with cheaper unstabilized lenses for the same effect
