The flavor of ‘banana’ has actually changed over decades due to invasive species killing out the original ‘banana’ which I believe is why the candy doesn’t taste similar to the bananas we eat now!

The flavour that you get in banana flavoured foods and drinks come from the Gros Michel banana, which as you say died off due to Panama disease. Now we eat the less banana-y Cavendish variety, although there are many more out there.

My daughter wanted to be like her brother when she was little and insisted that she needed to stand to pee. 3. DL, made me think of the disabled list or DH-designated hitter in baseball. I had a rough pregnancy, and I just kept thinking “I just need to make it to the birth, then everything will be ok!” But then… I was ninja kicked in the face with hormones… I had such bad postpartum depression. I felt hopeless and my house didn’t even feel like my house, I felt like I’d never like any part of my life again. But then FINALLY when my little boy turned 4ish months I felt like myself again. For those first months I kept saying I NEVER would want to go through that again. But now that I emerged from the other side, and I have a 6-month old who I LOVE more than anything… now I do feel like I could go through it again… only because then I would know I would eventually come out the other side

The reason why banana flavoured things taste like that is because it is a banana from the past. Bananas used to actually taste like that but they got wiped out because of some bacteria or something (im not too sure). Then the bananas we eat today got popular because they were not affected by this bacteria.
