Jordan won MVP and DPOY in the same season, while Pippen was averaging 7 points off the bench..And who did Jordan run into in the first round? Bird's Celtics(twice) and a very good Bucks team with Sid Moncrief, Terry Cummings, and Paul Pressey. Jordan obviously did all he could vs those teams.

I agree MJ is a better scorer and defender, but he wasn't a better shooter. not even close, Lebron is shooting 58 percent from the field and 42 from 3 in the modern day NBA. Jordan may have shot 42 on the season one year but he was not racking up anywhere near as many 3s as LBJ is this year. Also Lebron is a far better passer, with better IQ, he's a better rim protector and a better rebounder. MJ is still the goat because he is a better winner, they ae both great winners but MJ was better. But the conversation is a lot closer than haters like you give it credit for

@lotta Danger LeBrons path to the finals while he was in the East was easier. Jordan coming into the league was playing against ALL-TIME great teams, first of all. Secondly, I'm not going to go back and forth in this topic because at the end of the day, if anyone thinks LeBron is better than Jordan, that is your right and your opinion. The only thing that would change your mind is if you ACTUALLY watched Jordan play full games, and watched his career unfold (and not just by the documentary). I was very young when at the time but my brother was a huge fan and as I was growing up, I would re watch every game, I really looked into his career.. that is why my opinion is Jordan is better, the EYE test from watching his game compared to LeBrons and the difficulties he had. One of the strongest arguments LeBron fans have is "He made it to more finals", and a VALID response is, Jordans competition was A LOT better too start his career, that is a fact, you can't argue that. Once Jordan hit his "Prime".. forget making the finals.. he DIDN'T LOSE AGAIN. It was over. This is no disrespect to LeBron, I have him as a top 5 or 3 player to ever play the game, based on watching his career, I have Jordan, Kareem, Magic, LeBron and Kobe as top 5, and in no particular order, but Jordan being #1. People need to watch Jordans games from start to finish, be unbiased and then make a decision based on their eye test and competition, who they believe is better. Not base it on highlights.

No, scoring, Michael Jordan is the definition. But you have to take into account that Lebron isn’t finished. (This is the max project) you’re looking at 1st in points, top 5 in assists and (the least likely) top 20-10 in rebounds. Statistically Lebron adds up. He’s had much more shit than mike did (finals loses) and mind you one was directly his fault and others were better teams or injured players. (You can’t tell me the spurs weren’t absolutely better than the heat) even if you brush him off as a stat stuffer, he’s looking at the best statistical career ever.

Will 2k I watched MJ as well and I think Bron can do more on the court, other than score. He's just more versatile and a more efficient playe to me. I'll take the player that makes everyone better and makes the team flow. Both can score at will, but Bron would rather playmake first. He can play 1 thru 5 on both sides of the court. He also said Jordan would have NO chance against Kobe in a shootout, especially behind the 3pt line. Any real NBA fan knows that the 3pt shot wasn't a priority of ANY NBA team in the 90s. They had designated shooters while the best players worked within the perimeter. MJ would have worked tirelessly on his 3pt shot had it been a viable option during his era. Its complete nonsense. Kobe was a great clutch shooter. He is arguably more efficient at the 3pt line than MJ, but he took OVER TWICE as many 3pt shots.. Yet their overall % is virtually the same.

When it comes to all around individual skill I don't know how you could debate MJ over Lebron. When it comes to straight up skill the stats speak for themselves. All of Lebron's stats are better besides pts and that's only a 2 pt difference and he has a higher true shooting percentage by about 3 percent and a slightly higher FG% than MJ. Believe it or not in the playoffs Lebron has better stats than MJ as well. MJ averages 5 more points than Lebron in the playoffs while Lebron averages 2.5 more boards and 2 more ast. MJ has a slight advantage in FG% by 0.2%. The only argument Jordan fans have is accolades and that Lebron doesn't have that "killer instinct" but I disagree with that because I don't know how you could come back from being down 3-1 against a 73-9 team or carry a team with only 2 other players (Mo Williams and Daniel Gibson were the two players btw) averaging over ten points to the Finals without some type of killer instinct. I'd pay a lot of money to somehow see Prime Jordan and Lebron on the same team.

Triple doubles never translate to winning championships though.. It's not one player in the history of the game that won multiple titles averaging a triple double so what's the big deal other than filling a stat sheet.. Jordan did what it took to win so that's alot better than what LeBron does.. KD did what it took to win in the finals and LeBron average a triple double but look at the outcome.. I just think it's over rated because it's considered the right way to play but it don't translate to winning

It looks like to me that Jordans game translated into more wins and awards.. What would u rather have one more rebound and assist and only 3 rings, less awards, or would u rather have what Jordan got? The bottom line is Jordan is the goat because he's the only scorer that played flashy that's undefeated in the finals, has offensive, defensive awards and multiple other things.. LeBron don't win any awards and hardly wins championships so it's no comparison.. I'm sorry u can have your one rebound and assist.. These analysts have to look at stats in the context of the year in which they were produced. They literally take 2 random years and compare the stats, it is just very bad methodology.
