You are an excellent technician. I’ve been in the field for 18 years now. I grew up in New England. Worked for Big Y supermarkets my first 6 years in the field doing supermarket refrigeration. Awesome job that was, I moved to Texas and work in the San Antonio area. Keep up the good videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

some customers be like I can't run this until it breaks, that is what I do with my car all the time. You see them driving down the road with bald tires and a bent rim. Yep some customers I have one like that. Don't hear from them until it is broke beyond repair. Thanks for another great video Steve.

Man, you predicted numerous encounters with shit shows this coming heating season, and you are on spot. It's only mid-November and you've encountered 5 of them! What a waste of oil, and who buries the oil feed tube under the concrete to the furnace?! Safety code violation! If it weren't for me, they wouldn't have put the customary pvc pipe cover for the gas line going into my house when my gas boiler was installed. Checked my boiler today, no soot in the draft hood of my Weil McClain CGa-6 PIDN boiler.

I'd run this unit after changing filters for a week, then come back and change them again. Rinse and repeat the next month, then 3 months, then the regular annual. There is no excuse for this level of neglect. I bet her late husband was taking care of this unit up to his passing, then it was never taken care of since.

I once bought a house with a summer/winter oil burner (radiator heat and domestic hot water). The previous owners let the boiler go years and years without service. First thing I did was get someone in to service it and the oil consumption fell to HALF of what it had been previously (I used the same oil service and saw the records). It wasn't quite as nasty as this setup, but it took the guy a while to get it all spiffed up.

How many people lived there previously. Energy consumption increases exponentially per person. Also, higher temp settings cause increase consumption. I think cleaning only affects whether or not the unit operates. Fire is fire.

Heating oil isn’t dyed diesel lol I worked for an oil depot for 27 years. Any dyed fuel is simply tax exempt. Kerosene, gasoline, diesel, bunker fuel, maritime fuel, you name it, can be bought in this way. Fuel oil is different than diesel because of its elemental impurities. Heating oil has between 10000ppm-16000ppm of sulfur, while diesel fuel is roughly 500ppm-1000ppm. The hydrocarbon chains are different between the two fuels as well. Logically, they are two different products.
@bnasty267
@bnasty267 4 жыл бұрын
@@kimjong-un4411 Nope, in the US at least, #2 heating oil is the same stuff as diesel. Many localities now require low-sulfur blends for heating oil as well. As a point of fact, off-road (untaxed) diesel fuel is sold from the exact same tanks/trucks as heating oil. The red dye is the only thing different about most #2 oils.

I had a friend when I was a kid more like a teenager who had an issue with his electric plugs in his living room 2 of the outlets were bad they tried to get them fixed but the guy couldn't touch them without running new wires the outlets were not grounded and paper wrapped would copper they didn't have the money to have thousands of dollars of work done so they ran extension cords from the dining room tell me what is more dangerous a non grounded wire with paper and porcelain insulators or extension cords

Steve, I just watched the service you did on your daughter's one. When you took the larger filter off on hers and then opened the valve to kinda purge the line hardly any flow came out but you didn't say anything. When you did the same on this ladys the flow of oil was 10 times more than your daughter's. Is there a reason for that, is it not a big deal?
