Clubhouse Games is available on Nintendo Switch!
Apollo's channel: / dumbdog
This was taken from my stream on April 12th, 2021. Catch me live every weekday from 11AM-4PM: / northernlion
I was at a loss for what to play so I decided to run some Clubhouse. If you can't find one game to play - how about 51?

He was barely into his 20's when he first appeared on the NLSS, and I feel like he assumed his "value" in being a streamer was being skilled rather than charismatic. Time around streamers who are personalities rather than just good at games, plus the realisation that he's actually very entertaining when he's just goofing about and chatting instead of just being good at games has made him into a very good streamer

A little front seating for those who don't know Riichi mahjong: To win, create a hand of 4 sets and a pair. A set can be a three-of-a-kind or a sequence of three consecutive tiles. If you are one tile away from winning, you are in "Tenpai" and you can call "Ron" if someone discards what you need. This means you take all your victory points from that player! Otherwise, "Tsumo" means you drew the tile you needed yourself. If you have two of the three tiles needed for a set, you can "pon" a three-of-a-kind or "chii" a sequence from someone's discard. This is known as "calling". Calling "Riichi" means you are in Tenpai without ever calling. As well as the 4 sets and a pair, your hand needs a "Yaku" quality. There are about 40 of these: Riichi, All Triplets, and Pure Flush to name but a few.

As a pre reg optometrist, hearing the glasses stories is quite entertaining. Btw kids do actu actually often pretend that they cant see, but its less that they want glasses and more that they feel like something is wrong and wants glasses to be the solution when it probably isnt. And also id get a second opinion on your 1 "integer" change in one eye, if its correct then its just something youll have to get used to (unilateral changes in prescription is often tricky to get used to and leads to people feeling like its wrong) ,but it also could just be wrong and its best to know for sure

@Excessumamy
@Excessumamy 2 жыл бұрын
The mahjong tutorial is pretty confusing in Yakuza imo, I recommend checking out the Mahjong Souls tutorial. Basically, make four groups of three (consecutive numbers or exact same) and a pair. However, you have to fufill a win condition alongside this. The most common win condition is to have at least one three-of-a-kind of dragons OR the table 'wind' OR the seat 'wind'. The other condition you can go for is to have no terminal cards (no 1/9/wind/dragon tiles at all). You can basically ignore the win conditions though if you just keep your hand closed, and start learning by just building your hand through discarding, like NL does for most of the games. TLDR - hope you try and enjoy mahjong in Yakuza ^^

Every time NL holds onto isolated honor tiles trying to get two extra honors to go with it or something and throws out his middle number tiles, I mald until I remember that I used to do exactly that. But the tile inefficiency still hurts just a little.

Those Honor Tiles have a special Hand: 13 Orphans. You'll need 1 and 9 MSP tiles and all 7 honor tiles. You'll want to have a pair of any of the 7 tiles for it.
@Fenneconomist
@Fenneconomist 2 жыл бұрын
@@mynintendogamingfeed5208 Going for one of the rarest hands in the game instead of working with perfectly good number tiles that can make many other scoring hands is absurd. If he wanted to go for 13 orphans he'd have to move further from tenpai or even if not, have terrible waits on all the rest of his tiles. Riichi Mahjong is a fold-heavy game because of how punishing it is to throw into someone else's hand, so you don't have time to mess around like this.
@mynintendogamingfeed5208
@mynintendogamingfeed5208 2 жыл бұрын
@@Fenneconomist True. I have 2 clips of separate Riichi Mahjong sessions. One clip, I saw a CPU call "Ron!" Off a CPU's Dragon tile, resulting on the 3 Large Dragons Yakuman (and wiping out all 32,000 points from that CPU), and I got another clip of the separate Riichi Mahjong session in which the East Seat CPU called "Ron!" On the South Seat CPU that had the following hand (D is Dora): 5(D)67789P, EEEN(D)N(D)GGG Honor Tiles, which resulted in this score: Riichi (1) 1-shot (1) Dragon Tiles (1) Perfect Winds (2) ½ Flush (3) Dora (3 as bonus Han) Which resulted in a full Sanbaiman being calculated as a result and just instantly sent the CPU in the South Seat into the Minus Zone, all in E-1. And this was in Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics.
@Fenneconomist
@Fenneconomist 2 жыл бұрын
@@mynintendogamingfeed5208 This is an extremely specific reply you've given me but honestly I am fully sympathetic to the absurdity of your situation. CPUs are big stinky cheaters (possibly). I'll never forget in FFXIV, my first Mahjong game with the bots, an easy AI straight up got a 13 orphans hand and my eyes rolled into the back of my skull. It was funny though. Good luck finding players on Clubhouse Games tbh lol. Hopefully you got another resource like Tenhou or Mahjong Soul

I couldn't walk when I wore them, it threw off my depth perception so bad for like 3 days. I kept trying to adjust and kind of did for a bit, but anytime my glasses moved at all on my face (even if it was when I was walking) my entire vision would be thrown off so bad.
