Give it a shot. Someone commented they don't use the same formula anymore and it doesn't work like it used to so keep me posted on your results please

Wonder if the people who said it didn’t work got the green can. CRC sells gasket remover in either a green can or red can. The green can “contains no methylene chloride”. both the red can and aircraft remover are methylene chloride based which works well.

Seeing a lot of people commented a year ago that it was not working. I just bought two cans today, Aug 16, 2022 and its working pretty good. Did you use acetone to wipe it off or just a moist paper towel?

Yes I used acetone since it was still pretty sticky after the gasket striper did its thing

I have a pelican thermos, but they don't have many color options, have been questioning if I should or shouldn't, because the top and bottom parts are plastic so I am unsure if I should or shouldn't.
@MrRICKDAWG44443 жыл бұрын
Powder coat will be out of the question since the plastic will melt during the baking process and possibly during the striping process as well. Your options would be epoxy or paint over the existing colors as far as I know.

I have an outdoor table which has powder coated legs and across sides. A lot of peeling which I taped up with matching silver gloss tape. Decided to remove the tape and scrape back the powder coating. Some came off easily but there are other areas that won't budge. Will the gasket remover work on these areas.
@MrRICKDAWG44443 жыл бұрын
For sure especially since it's already peeling it will get under it much faster. If possible after you spray it wrap it with plastic or something so it stays wet longer. Let me know how it goes

How do you go about getting the chemicals off so it is safe to put your lips?
@MrRICKDAWG44443 жыл бұрын
I used hot soapy water and scrubbed it really good and re prepted it for powdercoat. I've basically had most garage chemicals at one point in my eye by accident so I wasn't to concerned about residual residue that didn't affect the next finish I was applying. I'm sure there is a much better way to remove trace elements of the chemicals but I'll leave that up to you to research.

seems to work decently for powdercoat however it doesnt remove the primer underneath very efficiently no sand blasting shop wants to do this work too
@MrRICKDAWG44442 жыл бұрын

@@MrRICKDAWG4444 it does work though with lots of this chemical + metal scraper + patience.
