They ask a question and there is only one acceptable answer to them and that is that you just agree with them. Once they sense there is a different point of view or an objection to the premise of their question they cut you off. This shows a weak mind that is afraid to be exposed to other points of view.

When Dr. Turek says things like “hold on nick hold on” I find it oddly respectful, because there’s a quote that says “never stop your enemy from making a mistake”, which is Machiavellian in nature. When Dr. Turek says to hold on, he’s trying to prevent the person from making a fool of themselves and being overly emotional and incoherent. He helps them to clarify their point, so as to help them facilitate an air of dignity. Dr. Turek doesn’t want to embarrass people or “gotcha” them. He truly believes what he is saying and is being as intellectually honest as I can tell. You cannot out psychologize the Bible for God not to throw you into hell for all eternity. In other words, you cannot come up with a good enough excuse here and now, so you will not be able to on judgment day. If you say you did not want to be born, God is going to say you should’ve been born again, that means become a Christian so that’s not gonna work. And there are no other excuses try to think of one. So now you know for the first time in your life, that the Bible is smarter than you and it is a steel trap, smarter than all of mankind, What should you do then? So at least investigate and look to see that these things are true, because right now you just learned the Bible is smarter than you, and you will be accountable for your life on judgment day before God! Prophecy, the Bible is 27% prophecy, that’s future history written in advance. God‘s really sticking his neck out to get it cut off if he’s wrong, but he hasn’t been wrong about the thousands of prophecies that were fulfilled, so he’ll be right about the end of the world prophecies as well and you’ll have no excuse on judgment day for not looking for truth! Caveat: you cannot look for God in times of chaos says Isaiah 45:19, so you better do it now. In other words,You’ll be too worried about your own survival when chaos hits, than your eternal destiny! Statistic probability of 40 writers writing the Bible with zero margin of deviation, proves God wrote the Bible through the 40 writers! God authored the Bible! DNA does not auto encrypt, the code writer is outside of the code of the 3300000,000,000 lines of computer code in the human genome of our DNA! So who wrote the code to such sophistication? 1,000,000 seconds is 12 days, 1,000,000,000 seconds is 32 years! That’s the difference between 1 million and 1 billion! One person’s DNA could fill the Grand Canyon up to 50 times full of books. John 21:25 “I suppose everything Jesus did, the world wouldn’t have enough room for the books telling of it.“ this verse would be fulfilled! Psalm 139:16 “in my members you have written many books“! When someone asks me a question, I don't just jump to the answer. Sometimes I don't answer at all because in asking why they're asking their question, I'm sussing out their REAL reason for asking, which isn't an actual answer, but an attempt to stump me or whoever they're talking to, in which case, they don't deserve an answer because they really don't care...they're just trying to trip YOU up.

In this particular case, the young man not only doesn’t understand, he hasn’t even heard what he has to say. Amazing!
@PhuckEwerself Жыл бұрын
He was coming into this saying "What proof do you have that you are right and others are wrong when they can point to just as many proofs as you for why they are right?" So the proofs this person gave at the beginning are just as valid as if a Muslim was up there giving proof about Allah. I very much doubt the speaker said why everyone else's proofs were wrong while his was right. For the math problem he quickly blew through it and if everyone at the table came forward with evidence to show that their answer was correct then he wants to know why that person's claim is more valid than everyone else's. A better example would be for this math problem "4x = y" what is x and y? He wants to know why this person is the right one when everyone else can come up with their own answer to show they are right.

A story I love that illustrates the error Nick makes is the story of the blind men that encounter the elephant - each makes different claims - ‘long and skinny like the tail’, ‘broad and rough like the side’, ‘thick like a tree (trunk)’. This is often used to say the blind men are all wrong (like Nick is claiming about religions). The error is the storyteller is claiming to see the whole elephant but we are all equally ‘blind’.

Was mentally ill and eventually physically ill and almost certain to die and no hope from doctors( they called me abnormal). So started to search god, visited temples, recited prayers and atlast Jesus came to me and here I am alive and having life in abundance. No more mental or physical illness that too without pill(recovered in hardly 2-3 months after I met Jesus i.e and in the time when doctors had already declared me abnormal). I Praise him with my testimony.😊 So, way might be narrow, but not hard.Bcoz it is by his grace we are saved not by our works. And thus I can say confidently that there is God and that Jesus is God.😊

It is simpler than we think. Question is who do people see when they have a "near death experience" that is they died and came back to life. Well people see Jesus Christ. It is easy to believe when the person is Christian. Christians are not the only people with near death experiences, Who do Muslims or Hindus or any other religion see? Testimony exists. Who is on the other side of death? Dive in and research. Share what you find.

You on the other hand will live in eternal damnation where their is weeping and gnashing of teeth. I go on to tell them that I, nor anyone else is forcing you to believe. It’s up to you, and you alone. So what do you care that I believe, and you don’t. If you’re convinced that you’re right, then let me be. Im doing nothing to you. A Christian, a Muslim, a Hindu, and a Buddhist were seated at a table, facing north, south, east, and west respectively. When asked to identify the center of the table, the Christian pointed north, the Muslim south, the Hindu east, and the Buddhist west. Observing this, an atheist who had been watching from the sidelines concluded with a degree of certainty, "The center of the table does not exist!"
@animals_are_alive Жыл бұрын
Wrong, the Muslim would murder the Christian. The Hindu would say direction doesn’t exist, and the Buddhist would be starving himself to death.
@clarkegibson464 Жыл бұрын
Or, a different atheist would say, the centre of the table is the centre of the table and none of those around the table are looking in the right place. The joke is flawed, if the words 'centre of the table' are replaced with god, as the joke implies, then the only logical conclusion made by the atheist (assuming he or she is rational) would be that each person has a different idea and the existance of god cannot be boiled down to a single idea based on their diverse cultural interpretations. The centre of the table is there in the joke, and undeniable. The atheist would be able to see it. The joke is almost funny, but not written cleverly enough to work. The fact that god is not visible is what leads, amongst many other factors, to atheists not having the belief in god (s). An atheist needs proof of existance, therefore the centre of the table provides that in this case. If the table was invisible, and claimed by those around it to be there (irrespectove of where they are pointing) I would want its existance proven by putting a glass on it. If the glass falls, I will suspend my belief until such time as evidence is demonstrated.
@darkprinc979 Жыл бұрын
@@clarkegibson464 Actually, the more accurate scenario would involve the group arguing over how the table got there. The Christian would claim to know who built the table, and that he knows the builder personally. The Muslim would claim to know who built the table, but call the Christian a blasphemer because the builder of the table is far too important to talk to just anybody. I don't know much about Buddhism or Hinduism, but I suspect they would claim that there were many builders of the table. The atheist isn't even sitting at the table. He just stands there above the rest, mocking them for even claiming there was a builder to begin with. The atheist would claim that the table needs no builder, that its intricate design is simply a matter of many coincidences happening over a long period of time. The atheist claims that the existence of the table is not sufficient evidence to support the claim that there is a builder.

I've been through so many of these types of conversations with non-believers that I think I'm finally coming around to the idea that learning how to get past their defenses and getting to the real person is the missing ingredient in our modern Evangelical evangelism. That you can't get from watching Christian debates online. In fact, I am beginning to think that this approach is actually just another impediment. A substitute for the real thing, which is learning how to be much more personal. It's as if Frank here is just dealing with this young man's "smoke screen" that he has erected to hide his real person. Nick doesn't care whether there's a God or not. Frank does it extremely well, but I wonder if it's not merely "the seed that fell along the path" kind of evangelism. We have to do better than just learning how to answer their objections.

I'm inclined to agree but I think this is what Jesus meant by "doing greater works". As in a multitude of different ppl have different ministries for reaching different types of ppl...(since Jesus' short ministry was primarily to the Jews). These intellectual apologetics work for some ppl where emotional appeals might fail. But for me I've never been swayed by these kind of apologetic arguments, (but then again I was born & rasied in a Christian household). The main reason I watch videos like this is to learn different methods for witnessing to others (since a lot of American churches neglect to prioritize teaching its converts how to spread the Gospel).
@CSUnger Жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, don’t think that I am dismissing this type of thing as useless or of no value. They are of great value. All I’m really trying to get at is that one should not think that this is what you want to get good at. The”aim of our charge” isn’t to be able to win arguments, although we should learn how to “destroy arguments and every proud obstacle to the knowledge of God” but that should come AFTER our own obedience is complete.
@CSUnger Жыл бұрын
But the “greater works than these will be do” is referring to is enabling one to enter into eternal life, since every one of the people Jesus healed all died anyway, so granting eternal life through us is of even greater works than physical miracles, all of which are simply typologies of spiritual transformations.
@Sarah-nn3nv Жыл бұрын
Jesus reached people by loving them. Forgiving them. Showing kindness, love, mercy, forgiveness, even for His enemies, which is unheard of in our society. He was humble and rejected no one. He didn't look down on others, but saw that we're all sinful and broken, and He loved us, unconditionally, and sacrificially, that's what reaches people. It's God's love and grace that inspires change. Jesus came to save, not condemn, but so many times, as Christians, we judge and condemn others which pushes them further away from God, because when we reject them, they think that God does also, when He doesn't. It's Good News. Just sharing...
@bobblacka918 Жыл бұрын
The real problem with non-believers is that, when they ask for evidence of God, and you give them evidence, they refuse to accept it as evidence. Suppose I told an historian that I don't believe George Washington was a real person. So the historian gives me a list of evidence like his grave site, his writings, a painting, a granite monument, his hand written signature on documents, testimonies from witnesses, results of military campaigns, his house, and so on but I immediately reject all of them claiming that every one on them can be faked. The historian would consider me deranged. But this is essentially what non-believers are doing. They won't accept any evidence no matter how good. Richard Dawkins recently said in an interview, "If all the stars were rearranged to spell out 'I am God' I still wouldn't believe it. I would think it was aliens messing with us." That statement pretty much summarizes how non-believers think.

Anyways the Lord opened my eyes slowly and he delivered me from a narcissistic relationship. But in all of this I thought ( God saved me so now he is going to save my relationship ). I started being angry with God and questioned how is he Sovereign and why did he allow those New Age demons and etc to fool me for years in the first place and give me a counter-feit relationship. I got a response to my prayer in a day. I cried almost the entire day. I realized I was born a Christian ( who didn't know his Bible ), but the moment I started seeing all of those false demonic teachings and miracles I ate them like bread. I am a worthless garbage , I realized even as I was repenting my heart posture was ( I am repenting for real this time, maybe he will give me a miracle or restore me). To be honest, it's very difficult to PERSUADE soneone (especially someone with a powerful intellect) of a spiritual point. My own experience is that that person must first live enough and love enough and worry enough and struggle enough, enough to come to the absolute dead-end of his mind. He must expreience deeply and suffer terribly, bitterly from the limitations of his own intellect. Then he will, because he must, throw up his hands and admit that his mind is not getting him anywhere useful. THEN and only then the door cracks open, and this type of "how to resolve this paradox, how to address this conundrum" type of conversation will simply disappear because there is no need for it.

1:41 *Well, Christianity is the ONLY RELIGION IN THE WORLD that comes from several eyewitness accounts, everything else came from a single Man's perception.*

So this kid hopped in late to the discussion just to tell everyone they are wrong about believing in God and his opinion is correct. Perhaps he will grow up some day and realize how little he know.

To be honest , I have studied Buddhism Islam and Hinduism for a period of time and it became quick knowledge to me that many of those religions the followers do not have any garuntee that they will enter heaven-Moksha(Hinduism), Nirvana(Buddhism), or Jannah(Islam) People in general may appear confident in the anything they hold dear to themselves, but if you ask anyone how they feel their chances are getting into heaven they always say they don’t know or it’s “If Allah wills” or “hopefully I get reincarnated into something good”, really they are placing their faith on chance rather than something firm. That’s the difference between worldly confidence and being Confident in Christ. We have the eternal Guarantee because of what Our God did for us at the cross!

Nick: "Yap yap yap yap?" Frank: "Answ -" Nick: "Let me interupt again." He didn't want answers, he wanted to make claims.

I'm halfway thru the bible with studying what I read, and it's amazing. Reading the Bible and the recent discoveries being made and what we are still finding is all adding . Kinda scary

@geoffreyporter530 the quran confirms the books before it (the gospels and torah) are true then the quran is false.

I keep telling people "When a doctor talks health, everyone listens. When an engineer talks house building, everyone listens. When a Christian talks about God, His revelation and what it means, everyone cuts them off and shuts them up". It's funny, because a non-Christian can't know more of the Bible and God than an actual Christian.

He does not. And then he offers some small humility in suggesting it's perhaps semantics. But he doesn't understand what "semantics" means either. You can't back away from the poverty of your position by claiming the words you used are insufficient and then inserting presumed thoughts and points--presumed because you haven't even the skill to make them, let alone defend them. Some words and "semantics" that would be particularly useful for him? The thousands that were shared during a discussion he didn't even bother to attend. It's probably safe to deduce he's quite sure he already knows what would have been said. It's EVIDENT that he does not.

Dawkins said that even if God appeared to him, he'd still refuse to believe....Dawkins does not want evidence even though he demands it. He's on video saying this.

Really? Wow...in other words he has taken a position and refuses to believe....trust me though, an experience with God would make him believe, if he felt the out of this world love I felt, he would believe..
