@@Huqe Normally, but this Roadhog (and the DPS) made that a non-issue. He was consistently trading *near the enemy spawn* and Hog always wasted hooks on his barrier to let him get away with it. If Hog ruined all his charges with hooks before he could do anything *then* Rein would just be feeding ult charge. But Zarya always got out alive with the charge from his suicides, Doom got 2-3 trades when they focused on Rein, Bastion was completely uncontested, and they didn't have to fight on point B at all until overtime.

This is a prime example of how deaths can be used offensively. The enemy team were collectively feeding their brains out during their entire 2nd point defense, and that is brilliant of them, because every single fight they take in front of the enemy spawn, is a fight that is of no consequence to them, and only burns the timer for the attacking team. This really goes to show how it's not the individual stats that matter, but how and when they come into play. Dying 10 times in front of the enemy spawn, but having more than enough time to get back and defend the objective every single time, is infinitely better than rolling the enemy fight after fight, but then losing the last overtime where 1 guy decides to be cheeky and is picked just outside the objective just as the enemy is pushing in. It's the quality of the fights you win that matter, not the quantity. OW game sense 101

Look, to all hog players I want to make this clear hook is a very high value ability and can secure kills, with hook you should be using it as a way to cancel other value abilities or ultimates, like sigma’s kinetic grasp. do not just yeet it into the enemy team hoping you get a hook! Also, let’s say the Ana did not awaken the rein you should have hooked him and looked to the right causing him to go further back and get your team to help kill him due to the fact that you can one shot a rein no matter what if he is at Max hp. Lastly, remember the one shot combo (for squishies) alternate fire hook primary fire melee. Addition : If there is nothing to punish you like a mei or an Ana if you have your heal up do not be afraid to body block for your squishies but be conservative about that make sure you have cover near you!

The combo you're describing is 2 shots :D But generally you can 1-shot combo all the 200 HP heroes now, Ana is the most inconsistent. The optimal is hook + step forward a bit before shooting + primary fire aimed at neck area + melee

Honestly i was kind of stuck in low plat onetricking hog and as soon as i started playing reinhardt i got an 80% winrate. Its like your teammates will feed if they dont have a barrier. I hope ill reach a level where my team can play around 2 offtanks so i can play more hog again

Well, 2 offtanks is very difficult to play for the rest of the team. There is not much that the dps can do if he has to burn down the opponent's barriers and the opponent's dps just shoots at him without any obstruction. They can flank or use walls, but on the flank it's easy to die (especially if the support cannot easily swing around the corner without a barrier) and you can't shoot through the wall. And supports has a ton of healing to catch up on, and the opponents gain ults on the Hog and the others at a terrifying rate. so yes it can work in a bronze where people are not going to hit the target if it is moving, or in the master+ where people know how to focus fire, but probably not anywhere in between.

I’m a high plat/ diamond player and the thing that makes me lose games the most is always smurfs. Priority passes have ruined the quality of games. Lots of DPS players are playing flex for passes, when they haven't played much support/tank and are pretty bad in these roles Many people have too high SR on their off roles because of the old MMR from before role lock. Like when role lock was introduced you got around your current SR for all roles even if the 2 other roles were way worse. Like if you were a 3200 DPS player you had around 3000 for support and tank as well even if both of them were actually gold level. These people only play placements generally, so their off role SR doesn't drop where it should be. The SR system is really bad right now because of this

I meeeeeean just because everyone isn’t clumped up doesn’t mean you’re not coordinating pushes with your ball/hog. If a ball goes off on his own and lets your team know when he’s slamming or booping people around, it’s easy to take advantage and get some picks. If hog gets a flank kill and lets everyone know, you can take advantage and push. It’s a problem if those Rambo tanks aren’t communicating.

I have a hypothesis. The “lack of synergy” and “doing whatever they want” syndrome is because of the Flex Queue. People are phoning-it-in on whatever role they got just to get tickets to play DPS. The tickets have also has had the effect of increasing the DPS player pool because more people are willing to play DPS now since queue times are shorter. This results in more crappier DPS than before because these players rarely played DPS in the past. In short, quality of games goes on all roles has gone WAY down

you'll have bad matches at any rank bud. That rein could be a Zarya main that is trying to play rein. I think its fairly normal for people who dont usually play rein, to make these stupid mistakes all of the time. Theres just so much that screw up solo queue in this game, two people are maining the same character, fiesta time, a player thinks Zenyatta is trash and then proceeded to feed his brains out to prove its too little healing, someone makes a misplay and a teammate proceeds to fill comms with toxicity titling the entire team. This stuff just happens, its not much you can do about it. There is a difference between players of different ranks though, maybe it doesnt show in this particular game for all players, but on average there is. There is just so many different factors in this game, theres so many characters that can be on your team and on the enemy team, and maybe one guy just fails fantastically against that one character for no good reason. theres many different maps as well. If people just got to grips with the fact that its a numbers game, and its not about winning every single match, but winning more than you lose, this would be a much more enjoyable game. But people seem to struggle with this stuff, and just rage their pants off at the first opportunity they get, ruining the experience for everyone, and its all because of this idea that they themselves, somehow are so much better than everyone else.

That Rein is a good Rein. On the 2nd point, he knew the game was won. Just look at what he does, every time he yolocharges, he takes away Sigma or Roadhog and lets the Bastion and DPS clean up. He also does it far away enough that even if the enemy breaks through, he's still able to cap the point.

Think the problem is he is not reading enemy movement the hook, just throw the hook in there. I take 0.5 sec to read them hook, much better accuracy. Also use hook only on squishy mostly to secure kill, he seems to be wasting it a lot on tanks

Actually it's a good timewasting strategy. The Roadhog team doesn't have Lucio or any high speed character. The enemy team just knew they were going to win. Every time that Rein dies charging, he's taking 1 or 2 people down with him. Bad habit, sure but the Roadhog and his team barely even touched the objective.

I'm in gold. I probably have worse aim but better game sense than this player. "Slow down" is good advice. It feels like he's just doing stuff to be active. Watch some Cyx gameplay - that guy plays Hog like a slasher movie monster. He observes the enemy and hooks people when it would be the most inconvenient. He takes off angles (usually near health packs) that are difficult to reach mid-team fight. And he only uses hooks in duals with tanks; with squishies, he just shoots them - taking advantage of the health difference. So, for the second choke, rather than trying to take the high ground, you could have waited on the right flank until they engaged your team at the choke. Then you could flank kill a squishy or hook the main tank out of the fight and run to the mega health pack when they aggro. That confusion is usually enough to give the rest of your team momentum. The other option, that Sty gave, is winning the shield war, but to do that you have to *follow* your Rein and not constantly run into the spawn camps during the regroup. You only play this frontline hog style with Zarya bubbles to guarantee you can get out without getting CC'ed to death.

"massive lapse in synergy"...I believe this is mostly because Blizzard decided to nearly reduce the ttk to 0 secs, so everyone dies in .000021 seconds. This doesn't allow people to work together because they just instantly die, and then complain in voicechat. I know goats was crap, but support's sustained healing and health pools are just not on par with damage anymore. It's just part of the ever-changing world that is Overwatch I guess.

You don't make 900IQ plays and then make crap ones because you're doing well. Those 'good' plays are lucky plays. So called high IQ plays are very risky in many cases and if you're failing when taking those risks your plays aren't very clever to begin with. High IQ plays for me are when you anticipate the enemy teams behaviour and counter their play in the moment that they think they've got you. I.e. bait an enemy shatter, don't shatter straight after like a scrub but wait for the push hard or for reins barrier to be destroyed before shattering the whole team.
