Great AWD system plus snow tires can't be beat!

Just imagine what it could do with a little more ground clearance!!

@@thomasschwarting5108 Outback had plenty of ground clearance for the car that it is. Newer models are a bit higher too.

Fantastic in 26 second you demonstrated more of the cars real world ability than twenty minute videos of some idiot doing donuts in a parking lot. thanks.

Subaru's are the best! Whether driving in snow, ice, light trails, highway or traffic I just get in it, turn the key and drive. No fussing with locking diff's or switching modes or whatever. Occasionally I have to turn the windshield wipers on but that's it. We took our '13 Outback 2.5i Limited up some pretty steep logging trails to get my dad's climbing deer stand. Didn't slip at all, even with the stock all season tires on it. When it was all over we got back on the highway and it was back to heated leather interior, Sirius XM and 26 mpg. No buttons to push. Everyone, including myself, was pretty impressed.

Forester guy here...really really really debating trading it in for an Outback. The extra room looks so appealing
@patricksheehan81575 жыл бұрын
I have both. The Outback does have more cargo room but the forester is taller and for some items is more practical just because the luggage area is taller. Both are good choices though. I prefer the outback for errands but the forester for adventures.

Nice, love this car 😊

That IS impressive; that's a steep hill! You have good tires too, whatever they are.
Charles Larouche I figured that they HAD to be snow tires to go up a hill like that. Wow, I never even would have THOUGHT of Toyos. Thanks for sending the link. I looked at it and the tire was rated reasonably high by consumers. That's always a good thing in my mind.

I am surprised more people haven't commented..Yours is one of the better clips on the Winter capability of an Outback...Is this a 2.5i CVT or an H6?
@Chlarouche9 жыл бұрын
it's a 2.5i CVT. 2014.
@mcclarinscott9 жыл бұрын
Nice! I drive a 2013 2.5i CVT Premium Winter package same color as yours...I feel that the CVT on snow is brilliant compared to my old 87 GL 5sp manual. did you have Traction controll on? it sounded like it was on...and have you noticed a difference with it Off in the same conditions?
@MemphisMojo15s9 жыл бұрын
My neighbor has a Forester and they put General Altimax RT 43 tires on, same as what I use on both of my RAV4's, and they have excellent traction in snow, mud, and rain. Not bad on ice either. Great tire for future reference if you're ever in need and priced nicely. I have a few snow videos with this tire of anyone wants to watch. You have a great looking car. I like Subaru. Great vehicles.

I have an '05 Outback and it has been soo good in the Winnipeg winters. The snow only makes me want to go out and play! lol I have backed out of my parking stall with 2.6 feet of snow behind me with no worries. I love playing around on the unplowed streets as I can get to where I'm going with no worries!

I had a ‘97 Outback that was the best car I’ve ever owned. After straying for 2 cars (Toyota Highlander then a Toyota RAV4) I’m ready to go back to Subaru. The RAV actually handles better in all road conditions than the Highlander, but neither can touch an Outback by a mile.

I have an azure blue 2014 Outback with the Boxer Turbodiesel and a 6sp. Manual transmission. No compaints about it whatsoever, its been very reliable for 170k and has proven itself in the muck and snow many times. Many people mock these cars, but without an idiot behind the wheel and some good tires. They offer some serious capability!
@GammaBoom2 жыл бұрын
170k miles or kilometers? I'm interested in buying one but am a bit skeptical about its reliability. Did you have any problems whatsoever with your car? Did you hear about any problems with it? I also heard that spare parts are hard to get by and are expensive... Is that true?

AWESOME!!!!! definitely my next vehicle ....what years are good to buy used 4cyl or 6cyl?
@johnnyq12332 жыл бұрын
Probably the 4 cyl, single overhead cam, non turbo. They have decent power and they are the easiest to change plugs without lifting the engine. You just got to take out the battery on the driver side and the airbox on the passenger side... My 2005 Outback falls into this category.. Different models have slightly different requirements. Just be smart when shopping as head gaskets were an issue back in the day.
