The story of Vijaya and Kuveni is correctly told by this person as per what I learned. Also, Vijaya and his companions marrying Tamil women brought from South India is correct. In fact, even the Sinhalese accept this.Also whether Kuveni was a Tamil woman and spoke Tamil is not authenticated. Since Tamil is an ancient language she might have spoken Tamil.Please note that this postage stamp was issued on May 23, 1956 and was invalidated on October 1, 1966 after a period of 10 years and 4 months. It has value of 3 cents and the name of the country is CEYLON and not Sri Lanka.can not be accepted since during 1956 to 1966, there was no ethnic war in Sri Lanka (then Ceylon) and peace prevailed throughout the Island. Tamil is the oldest language which is still in use and 5000 years old. The Sinhala language is about 2500 years old. One proof was created by Sinhalese in Sri lanka and they themselves destroyed . A stamp denoting Vijan’s arrival was published on 1956 But politicians claimed that the stamp must be banned because, it denotes that they themselves agree they are not the 1st civilization of Sri Lanka Tamil , Also that stamp has a picture saying that Kuweni Tamil girl( According to Ramayana Ravana’s sister Ratchasargal, In Mahavamsam they call her Yakshini means ghost) was sitting when Vijayan was comimg from boat. So that’s a proof Also Ravana said to be a devotee of Hindu god Shivan. He has built several temples before 7000 years ago it has been prooved. but sinhala history starts before 2500 years ago mean 4th to 5th century. He was the second king of the royal Moriya dynasty( The Maurya Empire) of Sri Lanka. Kashyapa is credited with the construction of the Sigiriya citadel and the surrounding city.He acquired the throne by overthrowing his father, King Dhatusena, and usurping his brother and rightful heir to the throne, Moggallana, in a palace coup. He imprisoned and later immured his father. Kashyapa was also known as Pithru Ghathaka Kashyapa (Kashyapa the Patricide), after this incident. He was later defeated by Moggallana, who had fled to South India and returned with an army to regain the throne. Kashyapa was killed in the battle that ensued, kashyapa not Sinhalese king!!!!Sinhalese nationalists confuse the history and claim the history of another race as their own, which is the Sinhalese King.
