John, as a horse woman for 60+ years, when a gelding has his *cough* "manhood" hanging down and flapping in the breeze, it normally indicates that he's relaxed. However, it's Ormonde the Tourist Eater, so who knows? 😮😮

Thing is Ormond is a GREAT guards mount. He doesn’t shift and fidget. He stands calmly and looks fabulous. He just demands his space. He’s fine with people as long as they’re out of his bubble. The incredibly irritating thing is the idiots who get too close, he bites at them, and they go straight BACK!!! MULTIPLE TIMES!!! I mean WTH??? It really works him up too.

Ormond is a gem. He doesn't hide his feelings about his displeasure when people get too close. I hate it when they laugh loudly and keep going back, clearly getting him riled. For goodness sakes, leave hime alone! His Guard is amazing, and I love her little smirk now and then.

I too love the nippy horses. Because maybe they are getting as fed up with the idiot tourists. Oh, my goodness, I'm sorry. I wish the guards would yell because it frustrates the heck out of us. When you get people doing things they know they're not supposed to. And then they laugh about it. It absolutely is disgusting. . these men and women are military and their horses are military. They should and do deserve more respect than these sometimes really awful idiots .

I absolutely agree with your thoughts on how a few nips would keep them back. Not to be rude to anyone, but unless you were raised after the late 70's early 80's. You will unfortunately find a mass majority have or are lacking any manners, that include respect to other's who put thier life in line for thier country, especially any form of the ranks. Being a military "Brat", along with a whole family line of those in service for thier Country, you would never Dare to disrespect anyone of any origin, color, or gender, without that thing in the back of your mind. Going off and saying too you, better hope your parents do not find out what you have done. In my case it would be, hope my English Lady Grandmother ( 5ft flat) never found out what I did. Never afraid of my Huge Father, just the short woman in our family. LOL I think that is what is missing in some people now says, the fear of the 5ft tall mother, or grandmother.😊

There's the mounted patrols, meaning police and Deputy Sheriffs, or what's called old Guard, based in Washington DC. The old Guard are used for Military Burials at Arlington Cemetary. They pull Army Caisson are used to carry the coffins to Arlington Cemetary, there's riders riding some of the horses. I'm not sure with military personnel, but Presidents that served in military, when they pass away, there's a riderless army horse with a pair of Riding boots reversed in the stirrups in the funeral procession.

Getting horses to talk, and even to talk back... in such a natural way. Everything is an excuse to amuse yourself and "us" too. 👋👋👋 You are so skilful and at ease that I wondered if you weren't working in the arts. I do, music... especially classical music. You've got an eye for spotting lots of pretty little details, and you let us enjoy each and every one of your discoveries. Above all, your capacity for wonder makes you good for those who follow you. Thank you for everything "John of London", friend of horses and LifeGuards and others...🐴❤🐴 I'm very pleased with your plans for the period when our friends the King's Guards are closed. It's a very small part of the suggestions I made to you, but your ideas are "much better". It will be very·very·very good. BOUM ! Have a good Tuesday and take care ! 🦋 'Free Cat'

Nice to see, and nice to see Ormond without a mouthful of tourist for once 😆 That service dog appears to be wearing a full harness. She may well be training him as just like the horses, the dogs need to be exposed to as many things, crowds, other animals, noises etc as possible. service dogs can be trained to assist with lots of different conditions….it’s impossible to say from just looking. Speaking of which, the dog is just fascinated by the gatesman doing his little march up and down…..his little head is photobombing your footage of him lol. It’s great to hear we’re still gonna get our horsey fix while the yard is being dug up, John. Seeing the horses is a much needed bright spot in my day and a lovely reminder of the time I spent living in London.

All Guards & Horses look amazing in their uniforms especially in the glorious sunshine. The service dog is wearing a special harness, the handle allows for the dog & handler to be close to each other for communication guidance & safety as they move around. When a service dog is wearing a harness never touch them as they are working. Could be a medical service dog for someone who has a heart problem or another medical condition. Don’t be shy to enquire politely as most are happy to explain their service dogs to make people aware. There’s actually 2 service dogs standing there.

So pleased to see a horsey video today - I hope they are semi open tomorrow as well. John - I had a thought about that black button by the gate at the front - maybe its to control those bollards in the centre that go up and down. Also just as you were coming back across the parade ground there was a view of the upstairs windows TS 3:09 - and a magnificent chandelier in that room overlooking the parade.

You have some of the most beautiful horse guard's in the world. All of the guards are doing a great job with the people I know that it's hard to deal with stupid and entitled people. I hope you have a blessed day and life for you and all the military and police.

Absolutely Brilliant video John, thank you so much for sharing it. Not seen part 2 yet. It's great to know that you've got some great videos lined up for us when Horse Guards is closed. Includes, Kings Troop in the mix. Your video made me laugh with some of the things you said. I'll look forward to seeing more of your videos. Thank you.

I love Ormonde. Cranky pony, lol. I used to have one a lot like him...unlike Ormonde though, he didn't follow through. He'd pin his ears and come at you with the teeth, only to snap at the air.

I do enjoy your videos with your excellent commentary - your humour and sarcasm appeal to my weird Aussie humour. I bet the guards enjoyed not having hordes of tourists whilst the commemoration for the The Royal Tank Regiments was held - it was good to see an Aussie represented, with his slouch hat and emu feathers!

Hi from Canada, I recently talked to one of my closest dearest friends in London. And I was surprised. She watches your videos as well as myself. And you are her favorite, she is Yugoslavian. I lived in England for 8 and a 1/2 years. And I was talking with her. She just lost her husband to cancer. And I said we should get together. And I want her to go there to where you are and find You. I know your name is John and you're our favorite channel. Because we like the conversation and your descriptiveness as to what is going on. And I want her to go. And hold up a sign saying Hey, Sammy from Canada. That would just be awesome and she really enjoys your channel as well. God bless. I'm just gonna start to watch this. But I had to say that first love love. Love this channel. Let you put out. It's awesome, thank you.❤❤
