A highly underrated movie. We didn't deserve Swades. But hopefully, through our changing movie-watching sensibilities, maybe we will become worthy of a second Swades whosoever decides to make in the future.

Are our movie watching sensibilities really changing? Let's see this week which movie makes more business, Haraamkhor or Ok Janu!
@RohitTandekar8 жыл бұрын
No guesses there. But a Haraamkhor twenty years ago wouldn't have done as well as it will do now. And a Ok Jaanu twenty years ago wouldn't have received as much flak from a thinking audience as it will now. That's change, brother.

I don't understand why you criticise the romance shown in the movie as a distraction, because Swades is one of my all time fav movies, and I have gone back to watching the movie again and again, often only for those beautiful scenes between SRK and the lead actress. I am sure many fans of the film do that too. Besides, you said some dialogues are like from 80s, so let me say that those dialogues are something that is still, in 2017, said by a lot of people in rural India. Also, those views haven't been justified, rather condemned in the film. So I guess these two criticisms are misplaced. Except that, great analysis. Keep it up.
