I don't like "testing" friendships by cutting off communication. Many of my best friends, and even my boyfriend, have trouble remembering to text me back and it doesn't bother me at all. We arrange times to hang out in person and we evenly plan things and pay for things, so it's really and honestly forgetfulness.
@icantthinkofanything7982 жыл бұрын
Totally, I hate that too. It's not that I don't want to talk to somebody, it's just that I'm really forgetful and Im really socially awkward and don't know how to start the text. A lot of people are like that

When I was in Middle School, There was a girl I liked a lot and all my friends knew it (Of course they kept it a secret.) I Told my dad about it and he told me to ask her out (like every father would) So the next week comes and I finally ask her to go to the movies with me, and she agrees. I felt so Happy and I wanted it to be perfect, when the movie ended, My father drove her home and I managed to get her Snap. We texted for about 2 weeks until she went dead silent On me. 3 Months Later... Its July and I'm doing my thing and Playing in the summer heat, when out of know where she texts me and asks how I'm doing, I say I'm doing fine and that the summer heat was killing me, She replied same and asked if we could get some Ice Cream, I reluctantly agree and take her, when we got to B.R I order a simple ball of ice cream, While she gets 2 scoops with M&M's, Chocolate Sauce, and Sprinkles (I Paid 18 Dollars for both of us.) I eat mine and she eats hers and after a hour she goes home. I immediately start texting her and what shocks me was that after 1 week she went dead silent AGAIN. 5 Months pass... Its Winter break and I'm at home chilling in my jammies, I get another text from her saying how she wants to "hang" with me and I ask what she wants to do, and she replies with bowling with her friends. When I heard this I was ready for my parents to take me, but my mom stops me and asks "Will she Be Paying for herself" And so being me I text her but she doesn't reply. I say she will and that I will have fun, When I arrive I hope out and meet her 3 other friends (ALL GIRLS BTW) And as where setting up and getting ready I do some math and the total comes to $126.37 for 3 games and pizza, I ask her and her friends for some money so that we can play, but she then whispers in my ear "We Forgot to bring Money" Hearing those words made me snap! I immediately start yapping on how come she didn't bring money and she looks me dead in the eyes and says "Your a Man, Just Pay for it so we can have fun!" I hated hearing that so much, I wiped around and told the man to cancel my order and I walked away to go home. While this is happening she's screaming in the back of my head for being the worst person in the world and how I have no manners for "ladies." I Call my dad and he comes to pick me up, As I hop in she screams at me and my dad "Your Son Is a Piece of $#!%" She continues to insult me until my dad decides to drive off. Half way Home My dad looks and sees that I'm upset and crying, He tells me that life can sometimes be a roller coaster of events and that I cant let any stop me from being happy. I learned that day that in the world there will be cruel people who will lie just so they can use you, and its your job from deciding when you want it to end. -Kelly Dorlon 2018-2019

Simping, flirting, and being manipulated/taken advantage of are different things just so you guys know the difference. Simping - Devoting yourself to someone in hopes of holding a small amount of significance in their life. Truth is, you dont. Flirting - When both parties mutually consents to eachother bonding in a romantic physical or verbal way. Manipulative - The other person leading you on by using means of physical or verbal attraction to make you think or act a certain way regardless of whether you're simping or not.

I'm not gonna try and bring too much drama here but. Your definition of manipulative kind of matches what the pride community does. Well at least on Roblox. I see on Roblox these Pride Ads talking about how great it is the be homosexual, yeah that's great but. You're leaving out all the bad stuff about it. Hate speech, discrimination, depression, anxiety, hypocrisy, etc. Like you said for the definition, "other person leading you on by using means of physical or verbal attraction to make you think or act a certain way".

I actually have a rule for that. If I start the conversation more than 3 times, means the person its not really intereted in talking to you, so I just dont message them anymore.

Let's just wait for the other person to receive the power of foresight and realize, through their immense self-deprecation issues as well, that the conversation a simple "Hey, what's up?" from them would start is eventually fruitless. Thus, they choose to let the other person control the conversation and hope to whatever celestial being out there that the one who kept starting the convo doesn't feel like the friendship (lowballing it for the sake of everyone) isn't going anywhere. The point is, there's a few risks you and the other have to take to better understand each other. I had convos with other people before that I start more than three times. Granted, they're not really my friends, but that's usually the point of a convo, isn't it? To develop a passion for conversing with other people, and to learn from what they can give you?

This is... kinda opposite from what life taught me? past 4 years have been fueled by “give if someone else is willing to give to you and be loyal” logic... and what happened is I was surrounded by people who’d be super nice and giving to me, and then would dump their trauma on me expecting me to always listen, reciprocate, and hangout cuz they let me stay at their place and relax several times and listen to me vent like twice. People who “simp” and would watch an entire show just cuz you mentioned it are desperate for friendships and incredibly deep connections in order to not look within themselves and improve . Don’t reciprocate to simps :/ and obviously don’t just keep giving your energy and money to ones who don’t give back. I understand giving money to ones in more need or lower financial situation and not expecting a return (which I have done) but it’s usually something that I view as donation or something that I do after the bond of give/give has been formed. True advice, look at people you vibe with and genuinely enjoy interacting BEYOND just hanging out and having a good time, and seek out spending time with them. Even if they don’t reach out first, usually those people just are introverted and have limited number of spoons, but those good people will find some time to spend with you, and that monthly hangout worth more pointless daily hangouts you can have with shallow/needy people. also strong side note, how do people not feel guilty for always making others pay for meals??
