I went on a sewing spree a few months ago and took in about 7 pairs of my husband jeans and trousers for myself. That tip on leaving the original stitches for the seat before putting new ones would’ve helped a lot 😂

This a great way to keep the pant alterations near invisible. I’ve also seen a method where you lift up more of the waistband, then completey lift off both pockets. Afterwards, you put darts where the pockets were and place the pockets back on to cover the darts. Then take out the darted amount from the center back of the waistband. That method is a lot more visible and it does curve the waistband, but It also keeps you from having to alter the center seat seam's double top stitching. Thoughts on that method?

Great tip on leaving the original stitching at the seat until you're finished. I love altering and mending clothes, but my dear ol' 1950-1960's Singer seems to struggle with thick layers. What kind of machine do you use? I don't need fancy stitches, but I'd love to be able to tackle thicker layers. Thanks for the videos!

Similar technique. There are no stitches to rip out which makes it easier. But you might need a second person to operate the sewing machine while you're positioned on the table 😂 When you iron yourself afterwards, don't set the temperture too high.

You do the same thing for the side seams and side waistbands, and sometimes for, larger bums, you have to dart the back of jeans under the pockets, etc; from my experience. 😊
