Moving away from home is such an insane experience. It’s good because you become independent but it is deeply heartbreaking to leave your childhood and memories.

I moved out on my own to a different state for work. Man it was so freeing & I grew so much.

@@ye23. I agree. It feels very freeing at first but after a few years, imo, it gets a bit sad

I've lived away from my family, abroad, for four years now. There are definite downsides, but it is empowering for sure, overall. Especially making it work despite not being fluent in the local language. I feel like a much more mature, independent person. It's also forced me to put effort into developing a real social life, so I relate to that for sure.

Oh girl I grew up in Texas and even though I consider it home, I visited Denver once and it was so so so stunning subhanAllah. There is something indescribable about driving through those mountains. I can’t imagine growing up there, seeing that beauty regularly, and then having to move to Texas LOL. But it’s great you’re finding beauty in growing plants, everyone I know grows jasmine, curry leaves, mint, and some kind of fruit in their backyard. Hope Texas grows on you a little more down the line IA

For Muslims, I recommend to find the local masjid and involve in social activities there.

You know what sis… I’ve never lived anywhere but CO for my entire life SubhanAllah. But for a few months now I been on this mental “moving out”. Lol and what I mean by that is moving out of an old mental space and what you described is how I have been feeling. May Allah bless you to bloom in your new home in ways that you never imagined possible 🤲🏽💚 Much love sis

Never related to a video more 😭. I’m also in the process of needing to make new friends…it’s not easy yo, but we will get there. Moving away is soooo hard at times, it really changed me as a person, not for the worse but I’m very different now to who I was 3 years ago 😅

Girl I can relate. Moved last year and I’m dealing with all the same things! I think it was a wake up call to see who you actually are independent of the ppl you grew up with. (Family, friends, community.) You may be cool with yourself or you might need to work on being alone with yourself at times and things like that. It’s great you found a KZbinr/ someone with similar interests. That won’t happen unless you go outside your comfort zone and explore the new place your in. Open yourself to new experiences and take chances - even tho it’s sometimes scary. Like for me being involved at the masjid/ halaqas was huge. I feel so much more fulfilled now that I’m allowing myself to do the things I loved to do back home in my new place. It’ll never be the exact same as before but InshaAllah your (our) new experiences will shape us and hopefully facilitate internal growth.

Texas driving is something else… Dallas freaked me out at first when I lived there. Now I have to tone it down in Ohio lol Moving away is hard.

I can relate to a lot of this video. I moved to Houston, Tx from London, UK and I can tell you - it takes longer than 2 years for sure to settle and start liking Texas lol. Texas is cheap and cheerful, when we tried living elsewhere for a while it was super fun but not sustainable at all after experiencing the cost of living in Texas it's tough to leave! I think you should consider being open to non-youtuber friends too, there will be other things you can connect to people about. None of my close friends here are in the same field of work as me.

Hi, love your vids! But may I ask to up the volume of your voice for future videos? The volume is very low when you talk, but videos or sound effects are much louder. My ears start hurting or I get jumpscared if I increase the volume too much because of the difference in volume

I've watched your videos for years knowing we were both from Colorado. I also moved away and got married. Colorado is LITERALLY so beautiful and I miss it. I still high key go back in my photo roll and stare longingly at photos of the sunsets and the mountains. I also talk about how amazing Colorado is (in hopes that I can convince my husband to move back with me someday). On another note, my whole family is from Houston Texas. I hate Texas compared to Colorado. The air is like... thick and smells... like swamp? And the people are fundamentalist and entitled. It's sort of scary how many extremists live there. And then it's the bugs for me... bugs everywhere. The only good thing about Texas is that a house is the price of a VCR, really. :p

Just moved from London to a new city in the UK after getting married. Defo less stressful than moving to a different state! But it was super overwhelming nonetheless. Experienced a bit of a culture shock because in London you come across wayyy more ethnic minorities. At my new job everyone is YT so i feel like I stick out a lot. I have decided to join some classes at the masjid as a way of getting to know people from this week in sha allah 😅
