TCL roku screen problem

I have the exact TV exact same issue. Just fixed mine for the 2nd time in 2 years. The issue is the individual LED's burn out. These are behind the LCD panel so you must remove all screws and carefully lift out the LCD panel with large suction cups to do the repair. Also then lift out diffuser layer. Be VERY careful. KZbin this for an instructional "remove LCD suction cups". You can buy the suction cups at lowes/home depot. Dont try to lift the panel with your hands it will likely break. Dont let your cats jump on it, it will break. Find a smooth clean surface to rest it on. Find the shorted LED by testing each strip with an external 12V source. Test them in pairs of 2 LEDs. Youll eventually find the burned out bulb. Warm up your soldering iron and de-solder the burnt LED. Then solder (bridge) where the LED was, so the 2 solder points connect with a bead of solder. Or simply bridge on the strip testing points. Voila, it works again. You could order a new SMD LED but replacing them requires patience and skill, they are REALLY tiny. Be sure to turn down the brightness after doing this as all other bulbs could burn slightly brighter depending on power supply. If this was a Sony or better brand I would go the route of replacing the LED or entire strip ($60-200 for full strips on most TV's). This whole process took me about 3 hours from unscrewing to all back together.

Forgot to mention that not all LEDs are out. Just ONE will cause them all not to turn on.

I dont think theyre designed specifically to fail. It has to do with where the LED strips and parts are sourced from. Different manufacturers have different part failure rates. The same TV model could have the same parts from different manufacturers depending on where it was produced. Samsung and Lg have their own issues. LG is usually main board failure, Samsung its the capacitors. For a long lasting TV id recommend Sony.

Maybe for you guys it didn’t work, but one KZbin video and my TCL Roku TV was back up! So it’s kinda work how everyone else’s TV failed, sorry for that. Hopefully you’re happy with your new tv!

Agree, just buy a new tv if your TCL Roku tv is old. It’s cheaper. In 63. They don’t TVs to last long like they did when I was a child. The floor model type tv I grew up with still works after 50 years. They don’t last because they want us to keep buying TVs and other stuff as well.

Pull the plug out the outlet and hold the power button for 1 minutes then plug the tv back in and press the power button to turn it on and it should work if not do it a couple times

You have to remove the plug for several days and if it does not work it shows roku services on the back and it can’t say when you got if it is more than three years old you need to get a new one next step is remove every single plug for a few days and plug it back in if it still does not work put it into a different outlet or room

@@lildevil32304 it's extremely dark and I had the room dark with black out curtains at night. It was very very difficult, but just possible to see the screen to cycle the options. The LEDs had burned out and it's more expensive to fix than to replace the TV

This happened to me because i had to wait 5 minutes for the LED backlight to turn on, i would fix it with LED strips to replace the backlight, i need to be careful with the LCD because it is a fragile piece that could break easily and hard to find online and replace
