I remember in 10th grade when our science teacher decided that this pop-up book should be our group project. We spent weeks working on the pop-up book. I am wondering where is it now? I hope she didn't just throw it away like what other teachers would do to projects after it was passed🙃

If it's good, they keep it. Both my kids I had to practically fight with their teachers to get things returned. One 3 set of posters my son made they had laminated and hung up in the office. Got those. But my daughter's family tree project, never saw it again. Everyone e!se did the boring chart showing relatives. But we already had the data, from a project my son had done. So I had the idea of getting actual photos of all the relatives, not any photos, but them when they were as young as possible close to the age of the student doing it. So my husband and I used our highschool graduation photos. Grandparents we used either military or wedding Images, and so on. Put it all in a booklet with some text about each person. It was a nice heirloom for our family, and the dang school KEPT it!!! I mean, there's identity theft stuff in there names and birthdate. Probably to show to future classes as an alternative idea to do the project, but still. Those projects aren't free.

You know, I really didn't want to watch this video. I grew up thinking that if I was smart enough, I'd eventually be able to think up how stuff like pop up books work and thus how to make one, on my own. If I learned how by watching someone else make one, I'd spoil it for myself and never each my potential. But the world of in inventions isn't made by one person. It isn't, and shouldn't be, recreated every time I want to do something interesting, and I shouldn't feel guilty for relying on what other people have figured out already. We stand on the shoulders of giants when we keep making this world better, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's exactly what these giants wanted--they'd be honored, not insulted, when their work is used as a foundation. Wear a weird hangup I had haha. Oh, and by the way, the video was fantastic :)

nothing's new under the sun:D I used to think of that too (especially when it comes to making art) but inevitably we'll draw inspiration from our surroundings anyway.
