We are taught that constructive feedback is critical for individual and group success. But what if the data clearly shows otherwise: 90 percent of all feedback has no or negative impact on performance. The model of someone on thick ice telling someone on thin ice that the ice is cracking doesn't work, whether you are in a family or in an organization.
For 24 years Dan was an award-winning journalist and editor for newspapers nationwide. In 2002, at the age of 39, Dan was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. This spurred him to step away from his media career to study neuroscience. The more he learned, the more applications he saw for leaders and organizations.
In 2005 Dan became the President of the Rapid Change Group, a 20-year-old neuroscience-based employee engagement firm. Company clients included the leaders of Fortune 500 companies.
In 2013, Rapid Change was bought by WorkplaceDynamics, the country’s leading employee survey company, to bolster a joint mission: to make the world a better place to work together.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

Providing constructive feedback is no longer the need of the hour, but handling it is. Constructive feedback utilised in an effective way can be used to improvise the entire feedback cycle

This contains some good nuggets and raises some good questions but yet again demonstrates some of the prejudice that baby-boomers exhibit to millennials. Try exhibiting that prejudice against a gender or a race and see what happens. Hidden in plain sight. I think you'll find Millenials will have to work a lot harder for a lot longer and receive a lot less than their self-righteous elders somehow...thanks guys. NOTE: Age make-up of the audience.
