Owner of 2022 Stelvio Veloce. No problems so far. Has been more reliable than many of the German cars I’ve had in the past. This SUV is unique and an absolute blast to drive.

You kind words about Stellantis having the courage to offer something unique are correct, but most of the credit goes to the late FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne, who championed the Giorgio platform and corralled a group of Ferrari engineers to design the platform, starting with the high-performance Quadrifoglio variant. He envisioned Alfa competing directly with Audi, BMW and Lexus. Since his death and the merger that created Stellantis, it appears more resources are going to Maserati -- a disappointment to all of us Alfisti around the world. Footnote: My 2022 Giula Quadrifoglio has been flawless in its reliability.

As a 2022 Stelvio owner, I can say the person this car is meant is: - someone that prioritizes driving over all else - likes to be unique - doesn’t need the latest information system - is going to be able to deal with an issue if it comes up If this isn’t you, that’s fine, but don’t crap on those of us that do. It’s great car. I Love it every day. Buy one a year old and take advantage of the depreciation and treat yourself to something that doesn’t have a cvt and no soul.

We have a 2018 Giulia Ti Sport. Amazing driving car. We don't care about the infotainment setup in it. It has one purpose, and that is to put a smile on our face. I think these vehicles punch way above their weight class in terms of performance and value. We even considered trading the Giulia off for a new TLX type S, and while it's a great car, it was missing that little spark. Had I not been set on a wanting another manual transmission car, I would have bought a Stelvio, BUT my A-Spec Integra is lot of fun. Enjoy your Alfa friend!

The active suspension was offered on 4 cylinder Stelvios in the past, it is not new here. It was offered on the TI Sport trim, but not many checked the box. It also sounds like you didn't drive a TI Sport or Veloce trim Stelvio with your wife, both of which have the same seats and a sport tuned suspension that is not soft. It is tuned kind of in the middle of the two modes on the active suspension.

Picked up a pre-owned TI Sport Carbon Guilia with the adaptive suspension, which is relatively rare. Wife drives it on normal, and I drive on dynamic, sport lol. Fantastic car. Don't know if there are many older Stelvios with active suspension, but definitely worth your consideration.

I'm a owner of a 2022 Giulia Veloce Q4 and in terms of driving characteristics, emotions, fun and design... it's by far the best car i've ever had! Yeah it's not mainstream like the german shit, but in its class it can easily compete with the well-known German brands and is even significantly better in the categories mentioned above.

Wow a rare moment Todd and I diverge. I am so a paddles on the column guy. I want to be in charge of my shifts 100% of the time. Including when I'm making a lazy left turn through a large intersection. When my steering wheel is upside down, I want my paddles where they've always been

I love Alfa and have owned 5 Alfas in the 90s. When I was shopping for a small SUV in 2021, I really wanted a Stelvio. However, the stickers shocked me, a black trim pkg (like a chrome delete) was $1700. While MB AMG pkg on a GLC was also $1700 but you get bigger wheels, different front and rear bumper, and sportier interior trim. There was another over-priced option but I forgot what it was. A $50k Stelvio was just a base model with 20” wheels and a sunroof. That high price, along with the cheap interior materials and the ugly flat standard seats really killed the deal for me. I don’t know who decided the pricing at AR USA. The 2021 Stelvio was more expensive than a similar equipped GLC and X3. I want an Alfa but I also want good value on my purchase. If AR USA wants to sell more cars (and looks like they don’t), they should lower their msrp prices. They are actually doing it now, $5k below msrp but it’s too late. Stelvio and Giulia are already 7 years old, while Mercedes and BMW already have redesigned new cars and have competitive msrp prices. $60k for the stelvio in this video is a tough sell.

I drove a Stelvio an acquaintance's wife was getting ready to turn in after her lease was up. We were at Black Ankle winery (seems to be a theme here) in MD, and after complimenting her car she handed me the fob and said go have fun. I did. Totally wiped out my SUV snobbishness. The fact that there's only one Alpha dealer in the state, as well as the reliability reputation, gives me pause though.

Had a Guilia Ti for 4 years and only had to replace tires & battery. Amazing blend of softer ride but still precise. I recommend any AR with the turbo 4 that really put out 305 hp. The 2gen BRZ with her lightweight & 3 pedals did tempt me away. However I might re buy one when I can’t drive a stick shift anymore

60K US $???? What a bargain!!! Here in the Netherlands the '24 Stevio Competizione costs 90K euros aka. 96K US $ thanks to our 'great' tax system!😢 oh and premium gasoline is 2,35 euros/liter! Shows just how lucky you guys (still) are when it comes to affordability of powerful gasoline cars. Oh and once you've finally bought one from your hardworking monkey the chances it gets stolen within a year are realistic so insurance rates are skyrocketing here as well...sigh.. Apart from this....great car!! Go buy one while you can! They're way too underestimated in the US!

Reliability massively improved during 2018. Buy a 2019 or newer and it's as reliable as its German competitors.

How come Alfa's exterior design language looks like birds and they're great, while despite Americans being all about eagles, US makes' design language go after snakes, sharks, horses, felines - anything but birds? Missed opportunity?

Infotainment on these is crap. Fit and finish is solid but not quite German level. But if you value driving, emotion, connection with the car and road through the best chassis in the world and an engine that is a Ferrari unit less two cylinders. If you value this and want a car, not a mobile infotainment unit then sell your house, grandmother and jewels to buy a quadrofoglio giulia or stelvio.

I feel like the fit and finish is a bit of a mixed bag like it's always been on Alfas. The plastics are not always the *best* quality but the leather is always way nicer than anything else in its price range.

This Alfa is worth a 3 day rental to get the curiosity of the SUV out of your system. Beyond that, I wouldn't trust the reliability.

The current Stelvios and Giulias don't have the same problems as the 2017s and 2018s that scared everyone off. These 2.0 liter models share most of their engine with what Jeep is using, the transmission is ZF and the BBW system is German. They aren't scary to own.

@@indianapwn3s Any Chrysler product is scary to own (especially out of warranty). I can't think of one mainstream Italian manufacturer that has anywhere close to an average record of reliability: Fiat, Lancia, Alfa - Odds are better in Vegas playing craps than owning any Alfa.

Hey Boys, all of my ancestors are paesanos; however, I have never owned an Italian car whether it be a Fiat or a Ferrari. They are just too unreliable. If you look at the silhouette of the Stelvio, you will see that it is very similar to the Macan with the long engine hood and the sloping roof line. I have owned two Macans. My current one is a 2022 S and it retailed for $72,250 before sales tax. My wife and I just took a 1,400 mile round trip to North Carolina in the S and it was spectacular on the interstates. I was not trying but hit 95 to 98 mph often to pass those semis and the car was as stable as a rock. Even though my last name ends in a vowel, give me a Porsche every day of the week. Ciao.

"Porsches are reliable and Alfas aren't" its not like Porsche doesn't have a history of engine issues. IMS bearings, cars being recalled for the engine catching on fire. The difference is Porsche owners put up with the issues.

Source: My uncle had a friend who knew a guy who had a brother that had one? In 12 years on the road my giulietta has needed a new battery, an ignition coil and a rubber seal for the rear wiper. My friend had one for 8 years with zero issues. The Giulia and Stelvio are also proving to be very solid too. Try one, you should.

@@rlsedition u haven’t watched enough reviews. Interior buttons and switches pre maturely wear out or just break. Wiring issues. Resale value drops off by 50% in under 3 years. Yep I’m uninformed. Be better, don’t judge. This isnt X social media.

@@makaw2006 I don't purchase a vehicle with resale in mind, as I tend to keep the car for many years. What I want is the right look and driving dynamics, and the Giulia has both in spades. OBTW, I was buying Ducatis before they were a "thing" as well (1982 Pantah 600).
