I guess I agree and disagree. They do a generally good job, but one shot, one trip mileage calculations might not be representative of the bigger picture. Should really be collected over the course of ownership. Split out city and highway mileage if it means something to you, but there are too many variables in a single trip.

@@TFLtruck Love the show Andre but some inconsistencies on fuel economy is evident. First is I wouldn't bother testing fuel economy and calling it real world until there is at least 5,000 miles. Second, Fords should never get the 30 second top off. It says so in the manual that it can cause damage. Third, I like to see more long distance drives for fuel economy. Only 50-100 miles is not realistic.

@@TFLtruck When are you guys going to do what everybody wants to see? F150, Tundra, Ram 1500, Silverado on IKE GAUNTLET? All we have now is single tow or at best 2 cars towing. A video for everybody who tows daily. So we can finally have a good MPG and power comparison with the same trucks and the same engines. The gas and the hybrids separated. Because gas vs hybrid videos we already have. But not the big 4 vs each other on the same day in the same circumstances. Preferably WITHOUT off road packages. Cattle haulers and people with 5th wheels usually don't leave highways. You are more and more about off roading, but majority of North America never leave tarmac/paved roads. And if, then it's just a dirt road to a parking space at a mountain bike park or something

That’s why Ford is keeping the current Raptor and adding the R. The next TRX will be the straight 6 tho. 2 V8’s don’t make sense either. (Trip 1 + Trip 2) / (Fuel 1 + Fuel 2) = mpg (344.7 + 344) / (21.69 + 17.869) = 17.48 mpg That is total distance divided by total fuel used. That equals the true fuel efficiency for your trip. I just purchased a 2022 GMC Sierra AT 4 limited with the 3 liter duramax. Two 260 mile round trips Fort Collins to Frisco and it was 25 mpg. Even With diesel so much more than 91 octane, it is sill less expensive overall than gas. While they both have 460 lbs torque at sea level, the gas engine looses 3 % power every 1000 feet in elevation. that's a 33% loss in power as you enter the Eisenhower tunnel at 11,000 feet. Turbos loose very little. I am amazed how the 3.0 duramax flys up the tunnel approaches. Also I bought the 2022 limited. That beautiful new dashboard in the ZR2 adds $3,200 TO THE PRICE of the latest of either the sierra or silverado. My AT 4 was $63500 with sunroof, running boards and several other options . The AT 4 may not be as good off road as the ZR 2, but I have no desire to take a $67,000 truck up Hells Revenge or Poison Spyder. I'll stick with an Polaris RZR or Kawasaki KRX 1000 for some real fun on those trails. Keep up all the great tests you do,

A better MPG result will be to set cruise control on both directions. Than add $80k dollars for the truck. Plus 17mpg times 5.89 gallons is approx. a distance of 100 miles. If you drive it for 100 miles, 5.89 gallons times gas price $4.60 is $27.09. For 1000 mile drive $27.09x10= $270.90. on gas. and for 10k miles $270.90x10=$2,709.00 on gas. So 100k mile drive is $27,900.00. on gas. Then, 200k mile drive is 27,900x2 =$55,800. on gas. By then, this truck will be on its Last Leg at 300k miles we get $27,900x3=$83,700 on Just gas. Now add your price of truck $80k plus gas for 300k miles driven we get $83,700 gas +$80k truck price tag is $163,700 estimate. and so on. Is this smart truck?

When a truck cost 1/3 of a new house, things have gotten out of control ! If you’re selling a new truck for this much you should make sure people are getting their moneys worth i.e. powder coated frame, not soft wax, better materials, thicker metal, etc. They are charging more than ever for new vehicles now but cutting costs on materials and quality. I have a 2022 Silverado and while I love it so far, it’s obvious corners were cut to save money. The top of the cab for instance is paper thin. Even when I had wash it with the slightest pressure it gives. I’m afraid to even drive it through a car wash that has high pressure blow dryers.
