I bought a pair of these at boot barn to help with foot pain and they were amazing better than anything else I had bought. So I bought a pair for my son who works as a mechanic and he’s loves them! I work on my feet all day doing air conditioning so I’m climbing ladders and roof access is and kneeling. They have been a lifesaver. After hurting my feet a few times now and needing crutches for a week I have become neurotic about finding a good insole. I have recently purchased RunPro, Vionic Active Orthotic, Keen Utility, Sof Sol Fit, Sof Sol Plantar Fascia Gel, Protalus M100, ViveSole, Gimhai Home, Spenco Original and Spenco Max (after seeing this video I picked up the Spenco's). I feared the Spenco Max would be like putting a rock in my shoe (like Vionic Active Orthotic) but this was not the case at all. The Protalus M100 is my second favorite of the bunch but they are insanely expensive and a bit overly flexible. In short, I completely agree with your professional opinion after taking the plunge. The Spenco Max is my favorite, most comfortable, most affordable and not overly rigid while also being supportive insole I have yet to try. I didn't know this version existed until I found your video. Many thanks!!

To the question, 'who said I have a flat foot?': my podiatrist. X-ray showed flattening and fracturing, 20 years ago. Recently, I had awful pain and black and blueing of soles of both feet. I assumed it was the same as 20 years ago. I bought Peak Planar Fasciitis inserts. In 2 weeks pain and discolorarion gone. I've put Peak into all of my shows. A bargain at $12.00 each vs. $500.00 custom builds, each, from doctor. Oh, and I remove all 'fatigue mats' in use at work. They cause overwork when constantly moving.

Hello Nashaat shenouda: Arch supports will raise the arch thus lowering the head of the first metatarsal. This may only make your callous worse. You should seek out a podiatrist to find out why you are getting this callous. For example, arthritis of the Great Toe joint can cause callouses below the first met head. But, you may also wish to check out this video on how to pad the ball of the foot. kzbin.info/www/bejne/opOuZZlvp96Za9E This might help relieve your symptoms quite a bit. Thanks for your comment.

I'm almost fully recovered from capsulitis of the second metatarsal in my right foot. Just like yourself, no other foot issues other than metatarsalgia pain. I thought I would be able to take care of it on my own with metatarsal pads and others measures, but I finally went and saw a podiatrist. A cortisone shot directly into the joint made a huge difference as it was the only thing that was able to get the inflammation under control. That took care of the existing pain which was step 1. Step 2 is prevention which means an orthotic. My podiatrist wanted to try over the counter before going the custom route. He recommended the Spenco Total Support Max for its rigid arch structure as well as it having more cushioning under the ball of the foot. It does have a metatarsal pad but it's very minimal. I've been using the Total Support Max for the past 2 weeks and have played about 8 hours of pickleball with it. I'm surprised just how much success I'm having with the Spenco insole. I notice zero pain whatsoever when playing up to 2 hours straight. Obviously, this doesn't mean you'll have the same results, but I couldn't be happier.

Doc.. i just purchased the spenco max. Ive been having left foot heel pain from time to time randomly & pain occurs the most when i wake up in the morning. After using the spenco max ( been almost 3 days now) ive been experiencing left foot arc fatigue & some left heel pain. My right foot remains completely normal without any pain whatsover. And i felt that my calves muscles was a lil tighter today trying to bend down. How long does it take to break in & is it normal?
@frugalfoot49735 жыл бұрын
So my answer is strictly speculative since a physical exam is necessary for a more accurate answer. You may have some posterior tibial tendonitis going along with your heel pain (which sounds like it could be plantar fasciitis). I gather that the arch pain started after you began using the spenco max BUT the heel pain is somewhat better. If that is the case, you may wish to build up the arch for better support (I made a video on how to do that) but if that does not help or if either problem worsens then OTC may not be the answer for you and you should consult a foot doctor who can actually take a look at your problem in person.

Well when your arch collapses so badly from pronation that you have foot surgery because you have bone spurs because you're constantly side loading your joints I would say this is a flat foot. It's like you're trying to talk people out of believing they have a problem with their arches... I have enough faith in myself and in other people to know that yes I have foot pain and medical problems because of this. The only thing that I've been able to find that's not absolutely worthless as far as the arch support are Aetrex sandals..

Many people are asymmetrical. If you've never tried an arch support why don't you give one a shot and see if it makes a difference. If it doesn't work, then you know. Maybe try an arch support in one shoe only. There is no "rule" that mandates you wearing the pair. Thanks for your comment.

There are two components to a custom insert: The fit and the calibration. @frugalfoot49734 жыл бұрын
Are you asking me if you can cure your flat foot by wearing an arch support? If so, the answer is no. As soon as you remove the insert your foot will become flat again. It is the same as wearing glasses. Corrective lenses only work when you wear them. I hope this helps.

How much price for this insole? I have a complete flat feet, is that insole effective or not, and this insole is available in karachi, Pakistan ???
@frugalfoot49734 жыл бұрын
Sir, it is an honor to speak to you in Pakistan. I do not know if these inserts are available in Pakistan. They are roughly $40-$50 U.S. dollars here in the States. They should be available on Amazon. If you have difficulty obtaining this in Pakistan you should write a letter to Spenco, the manufacturer of this insert. I wish you the best and thank you for your comment.

@frugalfoot49734 жыл бұрын
@@rohitbohra3488 Over pronation can be corrected with a properly fitting and calibrated arch support. However, the correction is only possible while one is wearing that arch support. If one removes the corrective arch support overpronation will begin again. I hope that is helpful. Thanks for your comment.

So what you learned is that you only have a flat foot when you are standing on the ground. When you are non weight bearing you have a descent arch. Now you have an idea of how much of an arch you need to support. Good job!

The insole your showing in this video did absolutely nothing for my flat feet. Evidently not enough height in the arch or support was provided to me in these supports. I've tried numerous inserts and have had several Orthotics made from the Podiatrist through the years. Nothing really helped much. I then tried the Superfeet insoles. I tried every color they offer as I found the employees in stores really do not understand what they are selling. I even called Superfeet and I didn't find them knowledgeable about flat feet. I found for me the insert that worked best was the Green ones and I wear Hoka shoes. Doing so has worked great for the past 3 years until lately I'm back to square one. Off to see the Podiatrist next week for some serious pain and inflammation on the top of my foot. I can barely walk right now from the pain. Not sure what happened perhaps way to much walking up and down some big hills every day.

Did you get the Total Support Max or the Original?
@bluesky43852 жыл бұрын
The Total support original. I hesitated buying it as it looked like it wasn't a high enough arch. At the time I was desperate and having a hard time finding inserts period. It's difficult buying them here, because the employees in stores are not trained to match people with products and that's obvious. Even in the few running stores I find in Central Florida, its the same song and dance. When I lived in Portland, Or I didn't have this problem. It's Nike country and a ton of running shoe stores with some very well trained employees. Many that are runners and fast walkers themselves and have dealth with their own foot problems. They know their shoes and inserts and how to match the customer with the products they are selling.
@sl26082 жыл бұрын
@@bluesky4385 The Total Support Original bends with just the use of his hands, as he clearly shows in the video. Which means it will collapse even more when the full weight of your body is on it. So it will not provide as much arch support as you probably need. You might want to again watch his explanation of the differences between these two insoles starting at [2:15]. He clearly explains why the Total Support MAX is better and why he prefers it. I ordered the MAX, I knew from the video that the Original would not be supportive enough.

Frugal Foot Then may I ask why I’m starting to get Plantar fasciitis? I’m not even 49 yet and after I work all day and sit down when I get home I can’t stand on my right almost like My Achilles went out but also sever pain on the outside of my heel. And sometimes the left does it too but usually the right. It takes a day or two to go away and it’s really screwing things up for me. Every regular Family dr said I had flat feet when I was a kid and they were probably going to give me problems when I got older. Well I’m older and I don’t know if they were correct about the flat foot part but they sure nailed the problems when I’m older part.
