I remember a few years ago, in another KZbin video in regards to the novel where Malcador and the Emperor are playing a strategy game with his tarot cards. Every time they play out the Heresy, it always come to the inevitable loss of Terra and the Imperium. In the last game, the Emperor notices an "irregularity" and comes to an epiphany that is never explained in the video. I wonder at times... did the Emperor come to the realization that the only way to defeat the gods was to become a god himself? And instead of gaining that power by consuming humanity, he could instead, with enough time, gain it through the worship of all of the Imperium? It could explain why the Emperor seemed to do little to stop the fall of Cadia and the beginning of the Cicitrus Maledictum, aka. the warp tear that has split the galaxy in half.

I think it's interesting that all the major players ended up with the outcome they dreaded most. The Imperial Truth would likely have failed to eliminate the Chaos Gods, but the Emperor hated divinity. In the end, he became what he hated, but it gives him the greatest chance of final victory. Meanwhile, Chaos, in their haste to end or subvert a threat, ended up creating a true bane for themselves.

Chaos was afraid of the emperor cutting humanity off from the warp so they brought the warp to humanity by putting the emperor on the golden throne. "How the turns have tabled" tzeentch probably.

Listening to this, my brain suddenly decided to flash to Disney’s Alladin. Specifically the following section: “It’s all part ‘n parcel to the whole genie gig. PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER! itty-bitty-living space.” For the Four, part of what makes the Emperor such a problem, an anathema to them, is that he isn’t a part of the great game. He’s an outside context problem they couldn’t just kill/cheat/sicken/seduce. Or, he was at least. If/when the Emperor becomes a fully empowered unshackled warp god, then Big E gets ALL of it. The power, and the responsibility. For Chaos, The Emperor as either The Dark King (what they likely wanted since it would have been on their terms) or a a god of Humanity’s design, (let’s have some fun and call it The Bright King) Big E now has to follow the SAME limitations as any of the other Four.

Not really, Big E still has enough power and his imperium to actively quell their threats. Think about it, why does each choas god hide behind fortresses if they are SOOOOO strong. I always wondered why the Eldar didn't assist the Emperor in his Webway project. It was in their interest to stymie Chaos, and this seems like a good way to do it. Granted, they'd have had to give way to the Monkeigh, but surely would have served their ultimate goal

The Emperor had other plans and he didn't want Heresy to happen. Although he had to prepare for all possibilities with Malcador and hope for the best possibilities to happen. Then Heresy seemed it would happen. Plans changed. Chaos took Plan A(magnus) and Plan B(Lorgar) from the Emperor's Webway. Combine the full power of the weakened split in two souled emperor to the ancient athame dagger. They knew it was the last pulled card that flipped the whole table towards the Emperor's side. 10k years later you got psychic awakening in the whole galaxy with the Emperor gathering power all these years. We will see how it goes but we can all be sure that everything comes with a price. It's the Grimdark setting after all

Wolf, if they ended the Imperium that would also mean Chaos corruption would also be handicapped (majorily). Chaos relies on the Imperium to seed & perpetuate Chaos. Hence humans are the chosen race with Abaddon as warmaster. That's why the Emperor wanted to move humanity into the webway, safe from the immaterium. That's why Fabius toils so hard to create the New Man, immune from chaos corruption.

This does seem to open quite a lively topic. Looking at the Horus Heresy, we had details from numerous perspectives. We have Chaos, the Eldar and Mankind. Despite what Chaos achieved, they could have destroyed themselves. A shadowy organisation known as the Cabal, Ealdari farseers, human perpetuals and the Alpha Legion. Had the Cabal succeeded, Humanities end would have resulted in the demise of the Ruinous Powers!

Techinally all you would need to do is shatter their gods strongholds and have a blessed mortal stab them with Big E "Delete Sword" It kills smaller parts of themselves so I dont think them dogs could tank it. Also I think Khrone or Nurgle should be killed first as she who sucks at melee has 7 instant kills while tzeentch one is too warped for travel.

If we agree that doing nothing would have resulted in their annihilation, in a human empire that could rebuild the technology of the Dark Age but with an effectively immortal ruling regime that was actually educated and powerful in the Warp, I don't understand how it could ever be a "mistake". Any success in the face of annihilation isn't a mistake, even if it only serves to delay the inevitable.

For 10’000 years, Chaos has been drinking from the bowser so it’s been a relatively good pay off for a draw in 2nd place with the Imperium.. I say it’s a draw in 2nd because nobody won.. So for chaos, the constant war with humanity is a win win.. a constant stream of war and change to feed them as opposed to burning out quickly.. Essentially, Chaos is farming in reality and dining on the produce in the warp.

It was not a mistake, or a failure. It was a GAMBIT. It was an overreach that had a non-zero game-winning chance. But it was an overextension. It was counterable, but unforseen. It was devastating, but only 100% commitment could have a shot. They gave 99%. A safe play would be 60-40 on advantage. A reckless play would have a 20-80 shot, but weighted for damage to either side could be devastating. This was a gambit. A move and show of force so dubious you win by presenting your ace to the enemy and betting you win before he can crush it. They balked. Their hand was not empty, far from it. Because The Emperor, intentionally or not, posed a counter-gambit. He teleported TO Horus, he faced their champion, and bared his throat. They weren't willing to bet it all, again, on a followup. Not sure that it was necessarily a mistake. Emperor becoming a G-d does not automatically mean defeat for Chaos. Chaos gods fight amongst each other all the time, without threatening their existence. Emperor may simply join the game, as another player, without fundamentally changing the outcome. Also, ultimate victory of Imperium is not assured- Abaddon may win in the end. I agree with you regarding Chaos Gods not following up on their success by destroying Imperium. But again, it could be that they actually benefited from the cruelty, oppression and endless cycle of violence that fighting with Imperium generated. Would a new iteration of the Emperor be able to "defeat" Chaos Gods? Its not clear

What's he talking about? One we don't know what their original deal with the Emperor was. Even without that there was never any kind of risk. Sire they'd be slightly less powerful. We know some of the chaos gods and entities before they knew the warp existed. So, even if humanity never used the warp and religion was gone people would still have emotions. Even if all emotion was wiped out death would still souls to fuel the warp. Lastly, we know their only goal really is well... chaos. It's in the name. That's what breaking up the largest empire creating several factions with differing interests ensures.

The emperor had travelled into the domain of the Chaos gods. Yes he beguiled them, and applied a tricksters tarot card. Fire, their own fire. Enough to fight but not enough to destroy. The lord of change would see many paths. He must of seen the emperor ascend. Is it in his interest to have help des to destroying his nemesis gods. Chaos didn't understand the true measure of human faith. The emperor still receives the bounty of souls daily. His name is now echoed on the lips of the damned. Was this a path the emperor and malcador and by extension valdor very much knew had to happen. The best thing about 40k is that the emperor creates an aspect that is needed by the viewer. Including us. His very path has always been to God good. A being of immense strength that can change the fates of time. Did chaos make a mistake. No... they needed to even the battlefield. So did the emperor. Even closing out the gods they would have had other methods, races and plans for control. The emperor that is beginning is not the old emperor. They are all just pawns for his next move more than ever now. Chaos only mistake was that they didn't finish the job. Maybe we will see a new God formed to counter the emperor. Or even the hive mind actually cross universal plains to show what it thinks about God's. I honestly think the emperor knew what he was doing all along.

I had already really hated the ending of heresy, the last books were shit. And with this one of the female custodes I left it for good, they will ruin 40K forever. That's why I'm starting my own universe that will become an RPG, I want your audience. It's going to be very interesting, but there won't be anything in the next 4 years, I think, it's just the beginning, I'm going to have to put together a team to help me develop everything. And from then on, work hard to achieve commercial success. And no, I'm not going to trample on the fans, I'm also a die-hard Lore fan.

It's the proverbial canary in the coal mine. The problem is that these things are done with the intent of pulling in a broader fanbase, without acknowledging the fact that if those people wanted to like WH40K for what it is, they would already like it. Once an IP begins the process of trying to appeal to the mythical "modern audience," there really is no stopping the process. Everything that makes this special and unique will be stripped away, piece by piece. I don't care what a couple of the writers want. Tell them no. I'm a female fan. I DON'T WANT more female factions. I love 40K hate what GW did what’s insult to the fanbase and lore but I guess they gave to give the weak low T babies a bottle iv already built and painted 9 3k plus armies mostly 30k and also have a 3d printer so don’t really need to give a woke company my money anymore there’s other companies out there il still keep listening to your good work unless its about low T beta male stuff
