Jodi presents as a sociopath. Ruby is a narcissist. The children are lucky that they were rescued before something far worse happened to them. And for what it’s worth, Kevin doesn’t get a pass. He’s hostile and controlling. He had a duty to protect his children and he failed.

Jodi did tell her other male clients to stop talking to the kids and I know a few were tortured by it. Kevin? I don’t know. I remembered Adam Steed and another said no way to giving up contact with their kids. Jodi found a match like hers here to the detriment of the Franke kids

@@JoJoGranum It took almost a year for Adam to start fighting back and we all know what happened when he did. He was not the only one who lost his kids because he fought. Kevin knew that and he said in his 2nd interview he was willing to go along with the request in hopes of getting his wife and kids back. Apparently this was the 2nd time he and Ruby had separated at Jodi’s insistence. It seemed like the first separation lasted a few months and then Ruby asked him to come home.

I think some criticism needs to be directed at the LDS church and its leaders. The bishops who recommended people to Jodi for her dubious treatment need to be questioned. When you look at the video of Ruby and Jodi at hour 1:01.. Ruby looks glowing, hair done, nice clothes, huge smile, close body language with Jodi, now think of the state of her children and marriage and immediate family.. children were left alone for long periods of time, neighbors describe dropping off food for them and her little girl wondering alone for hours looking for children to play with waiting for them to come home from school, now look at Ruby.. not a care in the world , if this doesn't tell you everything you need to know about this "mother" I don't know what does
@tiger.wolf.2033
@tiger.wolf.2033 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. And last night I just asked one question in another channel here in this platform: where was Ruby when her kids were left alone for days in that big house, without food and no one to care for them? I really don't remember a day I was left alone at home when I was a little child. I was always in company of somebody who played with me, who taught me something, like reading or writing, who would pick me up from school, or if my grandma had to leave for some minutes, she would call a girl in the neighborhood to be with me -- and it never took one or two hours or 10 days for grandma to be back! Now, I watch these videos, I read the articles and testimonies of neighbors... and the fact that even the neighbors contacted CPS?! it can't be real... !!! how come could all this tragedy happen if not for the lack of responsibility of Ruby and her husband?! Police ignored even her daughter's call to 911 and CPS?! There are many people and institutions responsible here, and the role the Mormon sect played in it must not be ignored either! The neighbor who called 911 said "there have been problems in that house"... If he knew that, I bet all my stocks the whole neighborhood knew it too.

Despite of the physical torture administered by both, Ruby was doing serious psychological damage long before Jodi. As was that husband Kevin. No question Jodi has done WAY more damage than Ruby. I do think Jodi is the mastermind… However, Ruby is far from a naïve pawn in her game. She has years and years of videos documenting her “questionable” and down right abusive parenting practices years before Jodi was in her life. Thank God they are both locked up. Also someone give Kevin some balls. WTF is wrong with that man!? I pray these children get placed in a truly safe and loving environment. I also agree the bigger issue is these groups and their effect on children. Utah has very lenient child protective laws… there are schools like Provo Canyon where I believe Jodi worked that teach similar beliefs. I know because I went to one and I can’t stop digging in on this case because the principals she teaches are so eerily similar. Paris Hilton (I went to school with) made reference of this in her recent documentary. In Adam Steeds interview he mentions that Jodi bragged that she worked with Paris. Some of theses schools are still operating with similar therapeutic principles, consequences, terminology and beliefs.

I'm struck by how Jodi presents ideas that sound normal on the surface. It's only once she has drawn you into her circle of influence that how she defines her ideas and how she operationalizes them is learned. By then, a person has been conditioned and manipulated by her to such an extent that walking away is hard, even if they question the ideas.

Her ideas don’t sound normal at all. Everything she says is the opposite of what psychology says. For example, she says validating the trauma is like a license to continue living like that, that is not it, validation is supposed to give the patient the opportunity to explore that trauma, finally be able to feel it, to be able to recover. Her ideas are based on using shame as healing and not having validation or compassion because that is weakness, that is not healthy or normal in any way.

They must have had a plan about what they were going to do if one of the children died. It seems as if one might have been getting close, considering they were being starved and had open wounds almost to the bone. It was only a short time yet, before an infection would have set in and physically overwhelmed them. Their bodies could not have been very strong, considering they were deprived of nourishment and nutrients for a strong immune system and body. I wonder if it ever went too far before.

What I find the most telling about Jodi, besides just the obvious crazy comments and her sick need to control others, is that her husband got custody of the kids when they divorced, and the kids were only 8 and 10 years old. That is an incredible rarity in the Mormon religion, so you have to wonder what was going on that those kids ended up with the dad, and I think at least one of them has no contact with Jodi today.

Jodi has been working with the family for many years. The constant statements about Ruby’s problematic videos being “before Jodi” are factually incorrect. Perpetuating untruths muddies the situation. She started as counselor to Ruby’s brother and then became a counselor/parenting coach to Ruby and her older son.

Oh, it's just so heartbreaking for those children whose trust in the adults meant to guide and protect them has now been broken. I also appreciated Dr. John's observation that Jodi's theory is rooted in basics of CBT. But she fails to grasp the absolutely essential factors of a therapeutic relationship-empathy, unconditional positive regard for the person, and congruence. In fact, I believe NXIM, in similar fashion, twisted the principles of CBT and left out those elements. And then I'm also confused by how she was able to justify having dual relationships with clients? There is so much that is problematic. Jessi has tremendous courage for speaking out. I truly hope the children get the best support possible in their healing and recovery.

Why do you keep shielding LDS from criticism? Fact is: Jodi Hildebrandt had been at the TOP of an LDS bishop‘s list of RECOMMENDED (!) therapists. Fact also is that LDS was paying Jodi boatloads of money, funding her millionaire lifestyle. I want to see a deep dive into THIS. Why are there ZERO interviews with that bishop? Heck - we don’t even know his name? How much money did LDS give Hildebrandt? And what exactly was it that made them so enthusiastic about her and her „work“ that they primarily recommended HER out of all people? But her allegiance was always self-contained as she was developing her independent vehicle to gaining power (connexions therapy business). This is reflected in Chad Daybell’s budding cult following, started with his published books as the initial hook, and in Tim Ballard’s endgame plan for theocratic domination, starting with the Op. Underground Railroad movie and recruitment efforts as a lure for support.
