Rummy, you should consider a Top 100 based on your boxing criteria. That can include stats like Ring's rankings, Win-Loss ratio, who they fought (e.g. boxers fighting other high quality fighters), titles obtained, how long the title was held, longevity, etc. That would be a better representation for the best boxers compared to the Ring magazine's ranking experiment.

12:49 For the Top 100, Manny Pacquiao at the end of 2019 will have an additional 14 points for 2018 and 2019. His score becomes 191. Thus he would rank Top 3 in the Top 100 list. Wow.

Rummy, I continued the data using the ratings for 2018, 2019 and 2020 for some of the active fighters on these list. The results are: Manny Pacquiao: 177 points +6 + 8 + 8 = 199 points (He is about to become the second fighter to pass 20o points) Roman Gonzalez: 83 points + 8 + 4 + 4 = 99 points (Just about to pass 100 points) Canelo Alvarez: 77 points + 10 + 10 + 16 = 113 points (Already above the 100 point landmark and he still has a long way to keep adding) Genady Golovkin: 62 points + 10 + 9 + 9 = 80 points (He is going to add some more, but I don't think he will surpas 100 in his career) Nonito Donaire: 84 points (Still will add some more points... He is almost 40 years old, and has fougth in 5 divisions) Naoya Inoue: 70 points (He is only 26 years old, getting 10 in each of his 7 years fighting in 3 divisions... He will certainly add a lot more points in the future) I consider every fighter that recorded 100 or more points a very special kind of fighter who's sucsessful carrer had the added benefit of longevity. Please give me your coments. Best regards!

Not sure why you assume those who retired, then returned, would have had higher totals. It is certainly possible, even probable, they may have fared worse. There is a reason they retired. And it is entirely possible if they fought during their retirement period circumstances may have made them score even lower than they amassed after they returned.

Fundamentally flawed list that must have taken a lot of effort. The boxers' careers that were divided in half by the start and end of a decade, or spanned multiple decades got short changed. Calculating a boxer's lifetime accumulation of ranking points would be a fairer reflection of their historical standing. Anyone agree?

88' MikeTyson I believe you will find him listed, funnily enough, as Tyson. He definitively was upon this list, though I don't believe ranked is the best word to use, as when in its typical usage it somewhat differs . anyway he was around 6th/7th *recall=imperfect* if one finds firsthand knowledge preferable to heresay, for some unfathomable reason. I believe that further scrutinizing the itemized data provided in the form of numerically ordered lists of surnames could prove to be of some value. in full disclosure I have no confirmation of this, such an unorthodox approach might have zero validity. if this holds, may wish publishing. Possible term: read. in the... observe family. further possible inclusion in branded methodology as step in like the " "scientists way" ALAS *blushes greatly* got all fanc'ful thinking there. aint be knowing my place n'all. like such means be feasible instead of witchedly harmful jawsqeek that clear wes all be knowing tis realy be being. woefully ashamed is me.... n rightfully so, at that!

Mike Tyson was BY FAR the BIGGEST / BEST fighter of the 80’s! First for so much! He was invincible! A phenom and broke all records! He is the biggest most popular and famous fighter EVER! He was 37-0 32 KO (when it counted)in his prime!
@jaymule73426 жыл бұрын
Since 1985 when I was born, I’ve watched some historic fighters as well as some historic fights. Looking at the last 30years the boxer with the most god given talent that did the most in his prime was Roy Jones Jr. He made two legit HOFamers (James Tony/Bernard Hopkins) look like they were in a completely different sport. I never watched a fighter for just about 15years straight beat guys in the fashion that Roy did. It didn’t matter if it was footwork, movement, distance, speed, 1 shot KO power in either hand, combination punching, body punching, high IQ or the ability to avoid taking damage while still landing accurate effective blows. Roy Jones Jr and maybe Jesus Christ himself were the only two with those kinda gifts. Once you start to age, though those gifts deteriorate fast. A split second off kills Roy. Whereas Hopkins was a technical, bend the rules guys which allowed him to prolong his career. Side note: The most exciting fighter I ever laid eyes on by far... Artuor ‘Thunder’ Gatti.
