A lot of walls would look better with murals airbrushed on them. Or at least some clever political slogans like "down with the elevator" or something like that. I don't see how that is even considered as vandalism. When the Vandals conquered Carthago, they didn't spray paint any walls, they just killed the entire population and kept all the buildings and infrastructure intact for their own use. An argument could be made that the walls are not the property of the people who paint things on them, or slogans like "punk's not dead, it just smells funny", but a counterargument could be made that everyone else has to look at those depressing drab gray walls, and that some colour or a clever line like "don't drop acid, take it pass/fail" can brighten up many a commuter's day, thus improving mental health overall. Will this lead to anarchism? I don't know, and I'd question any authority on that matter.
