Here's my potentially hot take on this vid: Jan is generally VERY conscious of what makes good vs bad content. He mentions it constantly on stream, and I'm pretty sure he just put out a podcast with Alpharad talking about that too. For a vid structured like this to come out, part of me thinks it almost has to be because the sponsor required it to be so. I imagine as a content creator, there's gotta be a threshold beyond which if a sponsor pays you well enough but requires you to structure your video in a specific way, the response will always be along the lines of "Alright sponsor this vid is probably gonna bomb, but whatever it's your money if you're paying my rent for the next X number of months"

The difference was last year he was just playing league all the time instead of focusing on nuzlockes. This video is super lazy and he should still be called out for that imo but it's probably because he's occupied with trying to finish Run and Bun which he's very close to doing on streams. So I think he's trying to put in effort, it's just that R&B is very intense and taking a lot of his mental energy as he tries to navigate the endgame, meaning he had to put out a lazy video this month for sponsor deadlines. I just don't think it's fair to say he's not changed or delivered on any of his promises when he's been dedicating a lot of time and effort if you look at the streaming side of things

Chinese nuzlocker was genuinely one of the best vids I’ve seen on yt in a long time. There is so much scrutiny in the comments bc we’ve seen your peaks. I’ll still be here for next post, and I’m still excited, but that’s what we’re looking for, that’s how you differentiate yourself between other poketubers. A starter Pokemon, and an entire team that's half it's level from the moment you catch the second Pokemon Specialises in narrowly dodging ko in the gym it's weak to, and high pp moves since no one else here is getting one move off Edit: I forgot one thing, the starter is usually determined by what I think is the cutest, the coolest or the one I think is good but turns out to be the worst one of the region
