@AlejoConejo-vb8ln3 жыл бұрын
@@ZzbrownbarbiezZ That's because the creator Burnie Burns stopped getting involved after Season 13. By Season 18 (Zero) the makers were a completely different group of people that had never worked on RvB before consisting of amateur writers, and a director who thought "RvB meets Fast & Furious" was a good pitch to make. Still, Seasons 1-13 are expertly written and nothing changes that.

The earlier seasons of rvb were very engaging with the audience. They were limited on what they could show so it was up to the audience to visualise what they were "expositing" I think it's kind of like a horror movie. A real one not the crappy ones with a plethora of jumpscares with no proper buildup or payoff. The best horror movies use an audiences mind as a tool to scare them. Our minds conjure up scarier images than what anyone could show us and the same thing was here but in a comedic way. Our minds would create funnier visuals than what they'd show us if they could
@PrimeHylian6 жыл бұрын
Definitely, that's an interesting comparison to Psychological horror, didn't think about that. But yeah, our minds fill in the blanks and the way they used that with their limited resources in production made for fantastic and really organic comedy.

Seasons 10 and 13 were my favourite seasons. I always love a good story and the humour is interwoven with more serious moments of the seasons excellently.

Ahhhhh, this has got me all nostalgic now. I haven't caught up RvB in recent years but I have especially fond memories of pretty much every season up until 10, which is where I got up to. The Blood Gulch Chronicles is fantastic for every reason you said, but I really like later seasons as well for the surprisingly good fight scenes and the awesome soundtrack, which I still listen to to this very day. Nice video, man!

you really should watch the chorus Trilogy. it has a slow start but is really funny and while not as action packed as the freelancer saga it does a lot with the characters(I can almost guarantee season 13 will make you cry more than once). Also Season 14 is pretty good. its an anthology so its a mixed bag. the bad episodes are crap but the good ones are some of the best.

What type of comedy would you categorize RVB in?
@freshxenorana263 Жыл бұрын
I think it would be a tragicomedy
@GrapeFlavoredAntifreeze8 ай бұрын
The type of comedy is a Timbre focused sitcom, but on the whole RVB transcends far beyond comedy in general. It can be best described as a perfect characterization and discussion of the human condition and the ways different people cooperate and communicate as they try to figure out their own meaning in life. Its what makes the show not only one of the funniest and most relatable of all time, but one of the most tragic and heartbreaking, never failing to make us ugly cry when it feels like it. Its a show about Grief, Love, Identity, Tragedy, Community, and Responsibility, things every human being struggles with on a deep personal level to one extent or another. It taps into the most meaningful parts of our soul and uses that connection to try to bring different types of people closer together. A once in a century type of show.

Hmm... I feel like the first several seasons had much better character work, and that character declined as the narrative inclined in quality. Season 13 is my favorite, primarily because it's just got such a well-done story. But the Reds and Blues in those later seasons are like caricatures, as compared to their more grounded, but still distinct, Blood Gulch personalities. I can't stand Donut nowadays; I preferred when Caboose was just a complete moron as opposed to... obscenely disabled?; the Reds are almost too much, but they're bearable and not too stale. I like them. Wash used to be my favorite character, because he was the guy who always said what I wanted to say. Perfectly balanced dryness. But nowadays, I prefer Tucker because he's had such a strong arc, at least up until Season 15 (I haven't watched beyond that.). Tucker is a bit of a caricature, too, but I feel it's well-balanced. I'm not sure if this would be an unpopular opinion, but I really like Carolina, too. Almost as much as Wash. She felt a bit too OP in her Halo 3 days, but I enjoyed how she was a strong female protagonist stereotype, difference being that she's so competitive that she suffers because of it. I could relate to that. Anyway, I'm done rambling. Just wanted to contribute.

Disliking the game isn't a good reason to not watch the show. I don't know anything about the games, and I don't have to. The show is its on story, and is one of my favorite shows created by Rooster Teeth, it is right below RWBY on that list. I know other people will say they like Red vs Blue better, but they knew the characters for longer than I did and saw it first. I watched Red Vs Blue between volume 3 and 4 of RWBY.
