A good friend of mine used to go to school With Douw Steyn. On the career path, Douw overtook him and vanished beyond the horizon. And yet... whenever Douw was in the area, my friend said - he took the time out of his precious day - to come and pick his old friend up in his Rolls Royce and take him out to lunch. Douw Steyn never forgot his home-town buddy,, who was then and still is now - just an ordinary salesman. The house is impressive, but it is this small detail that still inspires me the most.

capitalism - the most moral system there is. When you provide something of value others want. The exchange of money for the value is voluntary. Most people dont realise capitalism died over a century ago. Today everything is regulated making it croney capitalism or socialism. Voluntary participation is true freedom, an equal wealth creator for all. That saying i am sure this guy worked hard and never stole other people money. He created jobs and opportunities for many familiies. The question to ask is what value does a government create. The answer is none. It is an inefficient consumer of other people wealth that is there to protect itself and those who support it, leaving the country impoverished.

First time seeing those video and I'm blown away. Amazing to see something so extra in South Africa. And the founder of 67 blankets.

Too ostentatious for my taste....actually, no thanks. This place has no soul...it's cold....

Agreed, but maybe in some country the taste is different... But I wouldn't like to live there, maybe the library, but everything else nope. And the furnitures, and design hurts me.

It doesn’t need to feel like a home, it’s made to make you look better than anyone else, something I’ve learnt living around snobbery is that if your home looks nicer at the expense of live-ability you will be seen as the best person in a group.
