The man-made waterfalls are called aqueducts, or at least styled and or function as such, they’re also rather cheap compared to trying to make a synthetic waterfall.

A good friend of mine used to go to school With Douw Steyn. On the career path, Douw overtook him and vanished beyond the horizon. And yet... whenever Douw was in the area, my friend said - he took the time out of his precious day - to come and pick his old friend up in his Rolls Royce and take him out to lunch. Douw Steyn never forgot his home-town buddy,, who was then and still is now - just an ordinary salesman. The house is impressive, but it is this small detail that still inspires me the most.

Proverbs 13:11 [11]Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase. JUST IN CASE GATHERING WEALTH IS SO WRONG, THINK AGAIN. Nikki D Well said Nikki. Just be greatfull if you have all the basic necessities that you need to get by in life and be thankful for good health. Living in such opulence does not guarantee that you will be happy. If you are blessed to have these things then good, but no need to despair if you don't. There's always someone worse off than us who would give anything just to live the average lifestyles that most of us do.

marc handler again why cant hard working people live like this? Did any of you study economics? So this house alone took R250 million to build thats R 250 millon that went into our economy. This Estate would provide employment. I mean honestly we need more people like this to invest in our country. Also since when has it become wrong to work your ass off build a business and spend your money? I really cannot understand that mindset. I cant afford to live like this but do I hate these people because they can? No it just inspires me to study harder and look for more opportunities.

You see the truth is you can have it all. This is so inspiring. the work ethic, diligence and prayer that was put into achieving this is evidently great. There is inequality in every country in the world, not only in South Africa. There is nothing wrong with a successful businessman spending his hard earned money on something he feels passionate about. The video also mentions that they give back handsomely to less fortunate communities. The people who criticizes them are nasty and jealous.

I gave you one thumb down because your "jealousy" knee jerk accusation is very narrow minded, as if that's the only possible reaction one could have in front of this ghastly monument to an oversized ego which is completely out of human scale and uninviting to boot. Let alone the tremendous amount of energy gone into its construction and maintenance that will certainly surpass the former. Live simply that others can live, was Gandhi's principle that we should all reflect upon but some uber rich are too poor to even think of the planet they were born into because all they have, is money.

Douw Steyn came from humble beginnings and worked his ass off. NOTHING was handed to him. He made wise investment decisions as well. Jealousy makes you nasty. Research the man. He did not step on anyone. What a low blow inaccurate comment.

capitalism - the most moral system there is. When you provide something of value others want. The exchange of money for the value is voluntary. Most people dont realise capitalism died over a century ago. Today everything is regulated making it croney capitalism or socialism. Voluntary participation is true freedom, an equal wealth creator for all. That saying i am sure this guy worked hard and never stole other people money. He created jobs and opportunities for many familiies. The question to ask is what value does a government create. The answer is none. It is an inefficient consumer of other people wealth that is there to protect itself and those who support it, leaving the country impoverished.

It doesn’t need to feel like a home, it’s made to make you look better than anyone else, something I’ve learnt living around snobbery is that if your home looks nicer at the expense of live-ability you will be seen as the best person in a group.
