This video is powerful. I think mental health is so much more important than physical health because you need to be mentally stable in order to be physically in shape. Your body is an extension of your mind. Start slowly, work on one thing you do not like about yourself. Pick one bad habit and create a new habit to override that old habit. Try starting to eat better, focus on one meal a day. Consistency is key, awareness plays a huge part too. If you do this for 6 months, your life will be in a much better place. Stay healthy everyone!

Hi Jay! I loved this episode! So useful and full of tips. Some things I'm already doing, but there so many others that I could implement one by one, as you guys mentioned. There's one thing that I find really important that I think it was not mentioned... stay hydrated! You can survive several days without food but not without water! I think that having the habit of drinking water frequently during the day is as important as removing ultra processed food from your diet. Thank you so much for this enlightening episode!

This is so beautiful and painful to hear at the same time. Access to food is such a privilege and so many of us don’t have the resources to be able to afford the amount of food described on this episode. And I’m speaking as a middle class person, who can afford to live in a home with heating and electricity monthly but runs out of money for food often and relies on a food bank to help fill the gaps. At the same time, I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who would gladly switch places with me.

Hi, guys! Send you much love and would like to share with you what I’ve studied about anger. Anger, aggression or spite develop themselves when we carry resentment, pain (emotional) or fear. Especially if this emotions are suppressed or we are not aware of them. You can observe which topic or situation awakens it most and investigate how you relate to it. Maybe something is there which reminds you about a negative or traumatic experience from the past or childhood… externals are mostly triggers….❤

Fasting is really great if your already leaner, if a person Is overweight this doesn't work as good because the body doesn't know what to do if heavier the best thing is to lift weights and ease into it. Not eating until 11:00 am or 12:00 pm every day will make a difference but ultimately the more processed the things we eat the more it won't matter what we do the more wholesome the more garuantee of losing weight

Jay, your invitation to Dr. Shah on the podcast brought the most influential and life-changing insights for my family. Eliminating processed foods and managing glucose transformed my 80-year-old mother's diabetes and reversed prediabetes in my siblings. I have stomach issues and guess what, I still have these issues 2 years later because I have to be my own doctor, it’s taking me time to educate myself but that’s all I can do. I appreciate all that is being shared in this episode. Completely makes sense to me, but it also reflects a level of privilege and accessibility needed to live healthily and to thrive physically (and mentally). How do we translate this information and make it more accessible to most people? Most folks who do want to change their lifestyle and make different choices can't afford to buy the gadgets and suppliments and protein powders, etc. Making self-care and healthy living relevant and accessible to the people who need this information the most is one of my professional passions. We have to work harder to identify solutions that are more easily accessible and relevant for people who can only afford to shop in the middle of the supermarket. We are still leaving so many people out of the conversation and preventing possibilities of experiencing a healthy body, mind, life, community...so on. @Jay what are your ideas about shifting or expanding this important conversation?
@lydiaglover1762 Жыл бұрын
So important! I was just speaking on accessibility with a friend just minutes before starting this video. We can’t just tell people to do better or make better choices. There is a lot to unpack when it comes to addressing health and nutrition.

I live at poverty level and you have to be creative. I don’t own a TV or cable expense, cheap car w/no payments, no take out, drive through, or delivered foods. Do my own manicures & pedicures, live in a paid off mobile home ($47k) I go to library (not movies/concerts) to learn for free. I watch free movies on KZbin. I get help from my town food pantry. You have to be creative but this is how I pay for my vitamins & supplements. Most people I know would not live this way, therefore they overspend on the wrong stuff. Hence - these habits will eventually cost them down them down the road with disease and illness. PS Planet Fitness is only $10 per month. Don’t buy processed food - and you will have a ton of money. Intermittent fasting & I buy organic food from Aldi’s (look at people’s grocery carts & you can learn everything about their health and priorities.)

@@colleencorrigan8847 you are so creative and motivated! Congratulations to you! Most of us don’t demonstrate such agency to do better for ourselves when we do have the resources! What inspires you to be so empowered to create opportunities to live and feel better?

@@amuptah1106 I don’t participate in the ‘Food manufacturing industry = designed to get you addicted to their unhealthy chemical products & I don’t believe in Big Pharma or participate in their products that are designed to keep you as a customer for life with bad side effects. You can research wholistic cures for any illness. I follow Dr. Berg & they are trying to block him on KZbin but he also has a newsletter. Big tech companies, government, food companies, and Pharma want you to be dependent on them forever so that they can control you - we need to be free from them to save our own lives and use our own critical thinking skills. They all lie to us and the last thing they care about is our health. They are all greedy for money.
