It's a great rig mate, I fished exclusively with it for about 4 years after seeing Giles's feature. Worked brilliantly in 3ft for skimmers with expanders. Might be time to revisit this for the f1s now. 👍

Ben, very interesting little game changer. Catch rate is noticable almost immediately

I used this a lot, but also found that just 2x8s on a standard hooklength worked really well too if you felt the loop wasn't right

Certainly going to give this a go - Many thanks for posting

I’d love to see this rig filmed underwater to try and understand why it’s so effective

Giles Cochrane when he was fishing for MAP back 15 years ago used to smash waters with this

Originally the loop was 2 inches with the 2 shot butted up to the knot itself .. and it turns dinks into fish .. im gonna have to have another go with this ..

I've used a loop but a very small one and had some good catches. I'd forgotten about it but will use it again next time out, hopefully Friday.

Hi fisky......I'm hopefully going to brave out session this weekend at my local lake ....it's around 18/20 ft in deepest parts.....with a 8/10ft shelf going out 25 yards ......I fished it last just after 1 lockdown......on shelf at 25yrds......was a spur of the moment decision..... having looked at conditions 30min before hand walking my dog around it ......poor light..... warmish......strong SW wind👍........so went bk grabbed gear.....nd was fishing in the hour ........put half a dozen feeder loads out of gbait...silver fish nd scopex tutie fruitie liquid.....with chopped worm....nd a little sweetcorn offerings......I clipped up at 25yrds.....in pick my marker on far bank 👍....... always waited for 2 hrs before any response...... Patients a virtue .......then a couple of 6oz roach.......followed by 1lb skimmer.... then slabs 4/6 lb ......ended up over the 100+ mark 👍......ran out of bait lol.........getting bk to point now mate....would you fish the shelf or go into deeper water to get the bream ?????....need your expertise on this 👍😊

Given how cold it is I'd imagine the deepest water but I'd go very easy on the bait with very little freebies in the groundbait

Love the idea that they might hold maggots longer being a natural bait Food for thought

Thanks Ben really interesting video first for me to see. You sound a lot better now mate good news. Do you think same principle would work on overshotted rigs?
@BenFiskFishing4 жыл бұрын
It was shot a month ago Jeff thanks but no I wouldn't use it shallow because its designed for how fish feed on the deck

@@BenFiskFishing Didn't you say on video not to use it on the deck because the loop lies flat on the bottom?
@BenFiskFishing4 жыл бұрын
@@CB-xr1eg I said not to use it over depth if possible.... dead depth is how the loop works best👍

Sorry no way he invented it we were using that hook in a loop method in matches for small skimmers etc over twenty years ago . I believe Dave Hemings might have invented it but it was a well kept secret for long time

I've known about the loop for years but I use a smaller one and had some good catches with it.
