I've had 4 family members on different parts of the family live long, peaceful lives that ended naturally and uneventfully after long life (107, 105, 94 & 92) and some things they had in common - they avoided doctors, didn't watch the news or dramas, had strong personal spiritual lives and ate real food prepared at home nearly all their lives. All of them died without being on prescription medications. When one fell and got hurt watering the garden, the paramedics were in shock that a 95 yrs old woman didn't have a list of medications. I wonder how many things they might have been diagnosed with and medicated for in their lives had they been big on going to conventional doctors regularly.

Denise thanks for this testimony about your family. What you shared about them used to be the normal life for most people of the world and still is in many countries. The medical stablishment has been lying to us saying that thanks to modern medicine lifespan has been extended. The reality is the opposite in most cases. It is not true lifespan used to be only in the 40s.

Nobody told you you have to go to the doctor. And if they did you don't have to listen. It's your choice. Be responsible for your own health. I know people in their 90s that have not been to a doctor in 70 years. Put That in your pipe and smoke it

AMEN! I’ve been a pharmacist for 30 years but an advocate of preventive health, patient education and awareness vs medicating each symptom. I rarely if ever say this about someone who speaks or preaches about health and wellness: but I absolutely agree with every word she just said.

Loved this !!!! Met with friends I went to elementary school with we are all in our 60’s now, they all look like Santa and Mrs Claus on walkers and wheel chairs. Meanwhile I still run 3 miles a day and work. They made fun of me 30 years ago because I ate like a rabbit , vegetables and fruit mostly . Now they say , you are so lucky you have great DNA. It’s not the DNA , I have fat unhealthy siblings . It is the consistent discipline of eating natural earth grown food and 48 years of working out 5 days a week. There is NO luck about it. It is hard conscious discipline. Now go eat a mango 🥰

Casey’s description of fear of death, which allows complete control by medical establishment needs to be shouted from the rooftops! And the idea that medicine doesn’t create health but only puts on a bandaid is so clear and concise….everyone should take the time to hear her message. There’s enough information out there that people know how to get healthy and you’re sick from what you eat but people don’t change and they just wanna keep it eating the way they do. There’s that saying, you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink. That’s most of the people in this country.

You have mentioned the childhood trauma and it is great that someone is finally seeing the connection between it and various diseases (besides Gabor Mate, of course). If all of these mentioned diseases are connected to sugars, they're definitely linked to the childhood trauma, specifically to the bad or inadequate regulation (soothing) from a parent or other care taker. Edit: and I am really happy your nutrition is mostly plant based. You're my favorite doctor 🙃

Thanks for such a wonderful, and informative podcast! I was so exhausted from living with my poor health and taking blood pressure medication, cholesterol meds and Humulin R u-500 via an insulin pump. I got myself together and started passive exercise combined with totally changing my diet and 18-6 intermittent fasting. I lost 90 pounds, came off all medication, A1c of 5.8 down from 10 on concentrated insulin. I feel healthier and stronger than I have in years. I regret not changing things years ago. I was eating a SAD for most of my life. I'm a 70 year old grandmother. It's never too late.

Just because I am older (66) and a nurse, reired, now a health coach I have been also talking about this. I certainly can’t give out CBG monitor or advice, this subject is close to my heart. The future of my grandchildren depends on a functional food, health, and medical system. The truth needs to be spread. The documentary “the big secret” tells how we got here. It is an important video for everyone to see. Mind blowing in some regard.

This is one of the best things I’ve listened to in a long time. The mention of Doctors creating fear is so true. They seem to get their kicks from it. Yes and oatmeal does spike my blood sugar and a dietitian wanted to fight with me over that. She and others claim I’m wrong and they get very upset when I tell them white potatoes don’t seem so bad on my sugar levels. It’s nice to hear someone finally say everyone is not the same.

You are so right about how our medical system has institutionalized fear. I've had to struggle so hard to get out from under it but it's really worth the fight. I'm 76 now but still working on that "optimal cellular function" (getting good sleep, eating keto, which led to a natural intermittent fasting & despite arthritis, counting & increasing my steps). I've made good progress in that I see incremental improvement weekly.

OMIGOSH! Thank you for this interview. Dr. Casey is incredible and is essentially bringing “health” back to “health”care I’ve been fascinated about the link between poor diet and lifestyle and modern health conditions: diabetes, heart diseases, Alzheimer’s, kidney disease, cancers, poor gut biome etc and people have grown tired of my rants! Thank you for bringing attention to this because until mainstream doctors like you Start vocalizing, people will continue to feed their diseases and get or stay sick. I really believe that over time, the tiny arteries that supply vital blood to the organs and extremities ie kidney, heart, brain, feet, penis etc. become plaqued thorough poor food consumption and this contributes to the onset of these conditions, of course it’s more intricate than that and more than just the foods we eat as you explain (ie stress and inactivity). This knowledge has also led me to following low fat plant-based eating which I am also passionate about. People are hitting a hammer to the knee every day (i.e. what we eat daily) yet not understanding why the knee is sore! Thank you for explaining why this is so!

Wow! My mother grew up on a farm and she lived till late 80s. She always said good veggies grown in your own garden helps your body so much to last longer! She said reason people die and get Cancer is from the food and chemicals in the air we breathe in and stress we deal with. my Dad lived till he was 95 years old, walked almost daily and ate healthy. I remember in the 1970 they both stopped smoking cigs together cause they affect it could give you . My Dad died of heart attack and my Mom died of sepsis in her veins related from diabetes. Both their parents lived till late 80 s too and died of heart attacks. I am glad giving this data I am big on hot teas..moringa, neem, ginger.I am trying to stop my addiction to sugar. Thank you for this data!! A short story I had pain in tummy...think ulcers. I could not get an appointment to a doctor since new in this area. So went to healthy food store..check what had for stomach ulcers. I watch what eat and no longer have that ulcer. ..aloe vera and herbs healed it.

This is the best video podcast I have seen in a long time . The woman is well-informed , seems to have studied the subject comprehensively , and presents with great specificity , but also with respect to the environal contexts that need to be properly considered before treatment for their effects . This is the difference between the effective practical use of theoretical research and unintentionally losing sight of how one's research may become a beneficial part of situational life in context . (Vocabulary : pathology , etiology , and treatment --- The three are simultaneously done interactively if they are to be well-used by a genuine medical practitioner who really hopes to be effective in his practice ; that is why formal medical training requires a number of years of both clinical work as general practice and some experience of narrowly participatory technical research ; each affects the analysis of actual situations differently and both work together synergistically to help a practitioner cope well with the requirement to compose a successful response to the given problems of life (the proverbial "dance of life") .

Excellent education about management of metabolic health and disease prevention. Gave deep insights, like pills can't give us health. What I loved most was to know that every body is different and the food has to be customised to a person's need. What was unsaid but implied was that a proper metabolic management is also Anti-aging. And what was explicitly stressed upon was the 7 point program -- Food, Exercise (1.4 mins every 30 minutes -- movement and breathing), Sleep, Stress Management (breathing, meditation, awareness), Micro-nutrients, Microbiome management and Environmental Toxins. Completely agree to this 7 point program. Thanks for posting such a wonderful podcast.

I so agree the key is to learn how your body reacts to certain food, I use a continuous glucose monitor to understand how my body reacts to food, it has been life changing. I choose Veri (not sponsored), it has been so informative, food I thought healthy my body didn't like and also how my body reacted after drinking alcohol, I finally get to understand how my body works. I am finally loosing weight, aches and pains and inflammation of now lessening. Such another great interview

Did you have to get a prescription to get a CGM? I was looking online and some things I read said it requires a prescription, but maybe that’s not necessarily true?

I just have to stop this video and say Lewis does such a good job of acting like he just heard this for the first time and he hasn’t heard it 1000 times over the last five years. Don’t get me wrong I’m a big supporter of his but he’s knows this we’ve all heard this, he’s interviewed the top researcher on this subject.

I noticed she said that simple oatmeal raised her blood sugar above the level she was happy with, but someone else could be fine eating oatmeal and not affect their blood sugar too much. I've always wondered what factors genetics play in blood sugar spikes, as I myself am quite fair skinned like Casey, and don't fair well on carbs, especially from refined sugar or grains. I always wondered if there is a relation to where your ancestors came from to your tolerance to carbs. ie.if you are fairer skinned, it's more likely your ancestors came from a sun starved climate where carbs would have been alot scarcer and main source of food probably came from animals. Were as if darker skinned ancestors came from sunnier climates where more fruits and carb based foodstuffs would have been more readily available.

If the planet was dying and you had to select people to be transported to a more sustainable planet Dr. Casey Means should be on the list to go first. The information is so valuable for day to day life and everything she says makes perfect sense. No other doctor would tell you these things. They would just throw drugs at you so to speak. Wow! I'm just blown away by her! 💗

So much information out there from various sources that it becomes overwhelming! I like Dr Casey because she shares the real research! So as someone who is aging and starting to feel it in the joints, my obvious solution was to reach for glucosamine because...well everyone touted it as the natural supplement to take. But...there's that 'glucose' in that word. 🤔 And the question "Will it affect my blood glucose"? Back to the research...which is fascinating!!!

One of my doctors told me to cut back on bread and I genuinely wanted to know why. He said that in the US, you may as well eat a donut if you are going to consume bread because most of our bread is packed with sugar.
