The Four King Sisters (from left, Alyce, Marilyn - amazingly mature and poised-looking for 14 years old! - Luise, and Yvonne, perform "Please Don't Say No" in the 1945 MGM film "Thrill of a Romance."
This delightful number, of which there are at least two different versions, was sadly deleted from the film, supposedly because of problems between MGM and the Sister's agent.
However, one suspects influence from producer Joe Pasternak, who much preferred opera and classical music to swing. Another elaborate production number of "I Should Care," performed by Tommy Dorsey with Bob Allen and The Sentimentalists vocal group was also deleted, and the first number that Dorsey's band was assigned to play in a nightclub scene was "Song Of India," a tired 1937 "warhorse" (my opinion) that neither Dorsey or his young fans would've likely favored in 1945.
Notice naughty Yvonne's little "bump" as they exit.
