It is and don't get me wrong I have mad respect for him but his biggest talent was his song writing capabilities and confidence more than guitar. People don't understand that the actual song writing and arrangements are 90% of what people like and pay for and therefore gets heard

@EdCollects I'm from Long Beach and saw them live many times when they played backyard keg parties. My friends had a band that played with them a couple times. We definitely liked their music and knew they were gaining fans, but had I known that he wasn't going to live longer I would have spent more time up front watching them play and less time drinking and chasing girls lol. Early man would always get a mosh pit going and usually they would play for at least an hour before cops would come and break up the party. Funny thing is that I remember loving the music but thinking they were kind of dirty for lack of a better word. On a side note, my childhood neighbor friend sold a bag of chronic to snoop dog at the house of one of the guys in the band that played with Sublime. Snoop was offering them a not so good contract of some kind which they ultimately turned down. Still listen to Sublime often and it always reminds me of high school in the early 90's and the frequent keg parties.

@@EdCollectsI only saw Sublime once live, and sadly it was their final show with Brad. I saw clips of them with Rome, and there was none of the magic they had with Brad so I refused to ever see that line up. Now that Brad’s son is fronting them…. I will happily go see them again.

He died at a motel on Judah Street in San Francisco next to the N Judah train line. Blocks away from the beach. Every time I see it or go by it I think about him. I was lucky enough to be alive when he was alive listening to his music. He played my friends house party in Long Beach in their early days for an eight ball of cocaine and some beer. No joke. These were my older friends but I wish you could've lived long enough to grow out of that, I think he was on his way. RIP Louie Dog and Bradley. And that whole genre. They would've sold probably 80 million records if he was alive today, they missed out on that entire wave essentially

It’s really sad because he wanted to be clean for his son. And sometimes in recovery, we relapse and are able to get back up and move on. It’s unfortunate he didn’t wake up from it, he could’ve continued his road to recovery if he was serious about it still. It’s so sad. I know how it feels and I know it’s hard to stay clean, especially when you’re under a lot of pressure and exhausted, or in a really good mood even, just whenever you get triggered especially when you’re still newly clean. RIP Bradley Nowell….
