Hey everyone, thanks for watching. Before I get overwhelmed with comments, I am well aware that this is in 360p. Just a brief explanation, I usually test render my videos (to check for copyright stuff) at a lower quality, so I can do the check faster. This video was blocked over 18 times, no exaggeration. It was Mann (who's in this video) that convinced me to try to dispute the claim. Being tired and really frustrated, I filled out the form without realizing that I did it for one of the low quality uploads. The claim ended up being released and well... I ain't trying my luck again, son. Nevertheless, thank you to everyone who joined the Patreon when it seemed like this would never see KZbin screens. Thank you to all the supporters here and on Twitter. Thank you to Mann, Awkwardly, Bre, Kash, Primm, Dub, Nicole, Keek, DeAngelo, GeekToons, Delhi and Tim for all being in this one. It was a lot of fun. And lastly, thank YOU for watching. Stay dope, ya'll. #LongLiveTrapSav One. - Tariq

I feel like many people (including myself) considered A Goofy Movie a Black Movie because of the main plot which was a Principal telling a single parent (which was very common in black households during that time) that his son was on the pathway to being a convict by over exaggerating a situation and gaslighting him which was also a huge issue of that time period. It showed so many comparisons to the life of an African American during the 90s even having the principal low key looking like Ronald Reagan and we ALL know what Ronald Reagan is definitely known for in the 80s.

That's a really good point I never thought about in real life principals and authority figures really had a tendency and still do of overexagerating alot of issues among the black community especially with kids any time a black teen messes up its assumed their on a path of destruction and despair not seeing them as children and all children make mistakes yet when you see massive school shootings (not being racist but we all know what race often is associated with that) the media makes its seem like the shooters were mis guided individuals who needed help I even see people make pages glorifying them, meanwhile your average black kid in a hoodie is considered a way ward threat and as a child of a single mother it's understandable wanting to keep your kids on the right track like goofy does with max and max serves as a good example that one single fathers are just as capable of raising children and max is a good example that being raise in a single parent house hold didnt make him any lesser then his peers all and all great movie

That’s how we all wish our idols would act if we crash their performance. Movies like this, for better or worse, kinda drill that expectation into you as a kid. So the first time you meet your idol and they’re a jerk, or discover as such online like we often do nowadays, it’s very crushing.

There is a rolling fan theory that Powerline actually DOES know Goofy (some weight is how easily hoe he picked up on the perfect cast despite likely never seeing it before) Goofy just didn't recongize him because you know pop star costume, make up etc. Don't know how much weight it actually has, but its amusing to think and chew on it.

@@theradionicrevival8068 After I grew up, I hated The Little Mermaid’s plot points. Ariel is 16 and is so ready to give it up to a guy she only looked at once, she’s prepared to never she her family, friends, or home again. And she gets what she wants, which is a TERRIBLE message for impressionable, young children.

I agree, firstly just writing I love you would somewhat feel disingenuous (you probably at one point said I love you/love you too just because or you just had respond back or something) so it wouldn’t have been as impactful. My favorite part of this movie is that rewatching it a little while ago, I noticed something. I think you can actually see the reason Roxanne and Max aren't together in later movies within the first like, minute of this one. And it's that in that intro scene, where Max literally has her on a pedestal. As cute as the two of them are, there really isn't a basis for their relationship besides that they're attracted to each other and they listen to the same artist. And I'm not saying that either of them are bad or wrong for that. What I am saying is that I think they just weren't as compatible as Max thought they would be. And that's why we don't see Roxanne again. Am I looking too deep? Yes. Do I care? No.

I think there was some Disney Christmas movie, one of those direct-to-video ones, where there was a storyline about Max bringing his girlfriend home over winter break during college. Said girlfriend is not Roxanne. It's just amazing how this movie manages to be realistic both within its story and outside of it. You're probably not going to end up spending the rest of your life with your first romantic partner in high school. Same thing for relationships in college. But also, college is usually where a lot of us start to emotionally mature because we're trying to get ready to start working and live independently (at least by American standards, which have become unrealistic, but you'll have to research that yourself), and for a lot of us that makes us a lot more appreciative and a lot less embarrassed by our parents. If it wasn't for that roadtrip, Max would probably have delayed introducing Roxanne to his dad - if at all - for as long as possible. BUT on top of that, with the better (but not perfect, because nobody's perfect) communication with Max and Goofy, we've gone from Max being embarrassed about his dad and Goofy feeling comfortable with who he is, to Goofy being worried about embarrassing Max, but his son is comfortable enough with who he is to bring his girlfriend home for an extended period of time! Combine the Tariq analysis with the Sideways analysis about the music in this movie and just. This movie. THIS! MOVIE! How did it end up being SO GOOD?!

On traditional 2D animation colors I think why it looks “better” is because the process of filming the animation cells kinda washes out the color just a little bit. Like it’s saturated but not too bright that it hurts your eyes. Another possible reason it that the color kinda match how our eyes colors in the real world. Also using real in and paint helps Side note. I’ve noticed that a lot of college final projects animations use a color palette 🎨 similar to traditional 2D animation

The frustration of how perfect this movie is hits. I look for flaws in everything I watch and I've been watching this movie since my childhood, yet I cannot for the life of me find something wrong with it. They did everything so perfectly in what was basically a niche film. Like why? Why is A freaking Goofy Movie so on point!?! I didn't realize people saw this as a "black" movie. I've never seen it as one and I honestly still don't. The stuff they do throughout the movie that's typically associated with black culture was everywhere in the 90s. It felt like they were just trying to capture what was relevant, which just happened to incorporate a lot of that.

It's so awesome that A Goofy Movie is getting the respect it deserves these days. Even for people that weren't that impressed by it initially, it's one of those that demands a second viewing. I remember enjoying it after seeing it for the first time, but thinking it was sorta gimmicky. That Disney was just trying to stay hip and relevant or whatever. Let's cast Pauley Shore! In the 90s there was this dumb perspective about Disney that every one of their films needs to be a grandiose adventure starring royalty and stuff. Then seeing it again 5 year later, the movie floored me. The character relationship stuff is so incredibly well done, and the modern working class setting is such a breath air compared to Disney's stuff in the 90s and earlier. It was really unfair of me to think less of it initially because it was a Good Troop spinoff and had a (gasp) pop song as it's big climax. That dance sequence is amazing. Perfect culmination for the film. Great job summarizing what is so great about it. Planning on rewatching this again on Saturday. (Also why would you try to review something in 60 seconds? That's so gimmicky, man.)

"Bonus Comment" An Extremely Goofy Movie is low-key the real sleeper hit of the Disney Direct to DVD Sequel era films. Much like Cinderella 3 it's a film you don't think will be any good but because the writers had so little expectations; They just went hog wild with it and it was better because of it. Don't judge a book by it's cover, sometimes it might hide a real Certified Hood Classic; Instead of a POS only good for leaving your drink on so you don't stain your table.

Also the Fox and the Hound 2, I know most don't like that film because "It's a midquel and dumb." But I have never seen a single film that has that Country Fair vibe much like that one, most films try to make the Fair like Disneyland with how amazing and gran it is or Action Park with how Dangerous they are, this film got that right mix of Gran Fun, and Danger from the Town Drunk running things, that and Dixie probably turned me into a furry

"most of these problems could be solved if they just talked to each other." I always hate that argument or critique cause that can go with 99% of people's problems in real life. It's never quite that simple, and even when it is, people are stubborn or clueless or just dumb. That's always a realistic aspect in movies and shows to me. It's always fine to complain in passing, but whenever people are reviewing things, i just find it silly that they point those things out in movies/shows cause that's the point. It IS that simple, but no one really does that in real life until it's too late or the last minute.
