My heart is happy. Jonathan Bailey (Anthony on Bridgerton) said he wished a show like this had been accessable when he was young, how he needed it, and how Heartstopper makes him happy. Hes right. I needed this.

As someone who found out I'm asexual last year, I have to say being "immune" isn't easy either. Isaac made me cry in the first three episodes. All the loneliness and isolation he felt, I related to that my whole life. There is a heartache all on it's own for being in the camp of not being sexually attracted to anyone. Trust me.
@alondra4593 ай бұрын
I’ve kind of know I’m ace for years but I didn’t really accept it until about a year ago as well. And yeah it is not easy. Sure there will be things we don’t have I common with allo people but it’s still such a difficult thing to come to terms with and understand it is something that will make you different. And sAME that first time he said I think I’m asexual and aromantic (I think I’m aro as well but idk) I started sobbing. And every time it was brought up afterwards. I'm usually a dedicated lurker on the channel, but I just wanted to come out and say how much I loved this authentic reaction video 🥰 Sounds like we had a VERY similar watching experience, just all the feels! And you're totally right in saying that this show has the power to save lives, the gentle yet brutally honest visibility that it offers is SO important. As someone who has been struggling with the exact same things that Charlie goes through in this season, I felt so deeply seen and represented. But it was also a brutal wake-up call that I should be more proactive in my own recovery, because I have been shutting people out and withdrawing into my own negative bubble. And I love that they didn't make Charlie's ED his entire personality; it's so easy to lose yourself when you are so deep in the trenches, but we get to see him blossom and fully thrive instead of merely survive after all the hurdles he has overcome, and seeing his beautifully messy journey here just gave me so much hope for my own situation. Also, the level of support we get to see here is so so so beautiful, these little oddballs are all just the best and deserve all the love in the world, and these actors just bring the themes home so perfectly with their vibrant performances (plus how are they all so gorgeous?!?!?). What an absolute joy to watch, my heart is so full ❤

Considering it'll take 14+ months to get out the next one and the cast is only getting more older than the characters. Kit and Joe basically look like grown men now. Season 4 can wrap everything up nicely. Also, S3 was amazing in every way except I needed so much more time with Tara's struggles. She took care of others more than she was looked after. 😢

I'm glad on your perception on Charlies mother (well for Ep2 so far) I see so many people act like she's gay hitler, getting in the way of their relationship. But like..Charlie can give her some attitude unprovoked. Like you said she's like "Hey there's a mess can you tidy up a bit?" and he just ignores her and gives some attitude. Literally any parent would be upset at that. I'm not saying she's perfect but she's nowhere near as bad as people act like she is.
@GavinReadsItAll3 ай бұрын
It’s unfortunate that some people don’t look at all sides of things, so certain characters get a lot of unwarranted hate sometimes in the series. Like Imogen in season 1. And exactly, Charlie’s mother isn’t perfect, but that just makes her more real and three dimensional. I’m so happy to see others giving her some grace too
@graphiquejack3 ай бұрын
I think Jane puts a lot of expectations and demands on Charlie, which triggers his anxiety, and on top of the bullying and the destructive relationship with Ben, has caused a lot of Charlie's issues. She does go a little too far sometimes thinking she knows best when there are times to be a parent who lays down the law and times when you need to be understanding and supportive. In S2 and the start of S3, because Jane doesn't have the whole picture with Charlie's mental Illness and ED, she doesn't understand why he's tired, not eating, and hangs out with Nick all the time. Once she learns the extent of the issue, I think she really tries to be supportive and understanding, and I agree Charlie at times is out of line... but... he is going through a lot and he is a teenager. LOL. I like how they gave Jane layers so she's not some typical cartoon villain of a domineering mother.
@anthonyorsini2 ай бұрын
Her behavior is just because she cares so much, she just perhaps doesn't handle it the right way. She's human and this situation doesn't have an instruction manual. She's is trying her best but as someone who is not a parent, I can't imagine how hard this has to be on one.

Loved this season of course. Did think it was a bit rushed. They put in two volumes and the novella This winter. I think they could have spread it out more since we only have one volume and one season left . I personally did not like the hair cut of Darcy. Felt very old fashioned and don't think it looked good. They could have done something else for it. And it felt a bit like, I have to cut my hair because I'm non binary then them really having a problem with it? Because they did not show that earlier. Felt a bit like they wanted to put all the diversity in there and it was more an after thought. The part with Elle and the interview absolutely broke me. As a trans man this was hard to watch. But very important to put it in this season with us being attacked all the time. I need Michael and Tori in their own show I love them sooo much. Michael is my favorite ugh

The problem with Charlie's mother was the fact that she talked at him for the most part and not talked to him and always jumped to the most extreme thing first.Yes she got better with it towards the end of the season but to say he needed to stop giving her attitude i wildly disagree with. Yeah we see why she's like that but what did all that do to Charlie not have him be able to talk to anybody beyond surface level besides Nick and sometimes Tori. All the bullying the trauma with Ben and the fact that his mother was the way she was added up to all his issues. So the fact that he started pushing back i was all for it because it needed to happen or the cycle would of just continued.

While her way of blurting out her concerns may not seem ideal, there is in truth an obsession in Charlie, developing for Nick, which can and will eventually cause problems in their lives of they dont regulate it... in the end, life is more than just your relationship, isnt it? I find ot funny how most reactors start cursing the mum for seeing this, you'd expect more maturity from adults?🤷 Anyway, have a good watch!

There were a few things from the comics that were left out... my one major gripe with this season was they rushed a few too many storylines and they probably needed a longer season... like maybe 10 instead of 8 seasons. Maybe they were worried they weren't getting a fourth season so they tried to cram everything in here. I personally don't understand why they included the uni storyline if Nick wasn't going to tell Charlie where he'd like to apply to. If they weren't going to include that, why include the uni trip at all... they could have used that time to flush out some other moments, like, as you say, Tori's conversation with Charlie on the Ferris wheel.
