The Name of the LORD is His Presence

When God says to Moses in Exodus 23, "look, you better pay attention to this angel and listen to him because my name is in him." It's a way of saying, "I'm in him. You're gonna see this angel leading you on the way to the promised land. That's me in human form." So, the name is another way to refer to God. Check this out!

@@lanegregory6367 The “angel” (Heb. Malak = “messenger”) is no ordinary angel. Nor is he Moses or Joshua, though both were foreshadowing Christ. Only God can pardon sins. This angel “won’t” not “can’t” forgive. This unusual “angel” is mentioned elsewhere in Scripture. Malachi referred to the Angel of the Covenant (3:1). God’s name is in Him, not Joshua. The people were to “obey his voice” and that included Joshua. Jesus, the Logos (Word of God) is the Author of our salvation, not Joshua. Before He came, Jews may have guessed that this angel was Joshua, and indeed Jesus shares that name, meaning “salvation.” But Jesus is the unique Messenger of God, who pardons sin and whom Moses explained would be the final Prophet. God commands us all to “listen to Him” (Deut. 18:15).

That Commandment, in Hebrew, can also be translated as 'You shall not bring My Name YHWH to nothing'. @@Moshugaani my understanding is the original name was given to Moses by Abba Father Himself as YHVH (Yod Heh Vav Heh). These are all consonants. Later the V (Vav) was given a “W” sound. So people refer to YHVH as Yahuah or Yahweh.I listened to a Rabbi teach when he asked Father to reveal His sacred name with vowels, he was given “YaHaVaH”. As there are multiple meaning as to who He is which are revealed in this sounding. 1.Yah in Hebrew means EL (G-d), 2.Av means Father in Hebrew, 3.Avah means Strength or source of means “strength” (from Germanic “aval”), “sound” and “voice” (from Persian “āwāz/آواز”), “water” (from Persian “âb/آب”) or “life”, “living one”, “source of life” or “mother of life” (from Hebrew “haya/הָיָה” = to be/to exist or “kháy/חַי” = to live/alive)... 4. BEST of all, Ahavah" means "love" in Hebrew!! Our Lord is LOVE. I copy and pasted the 3rd bc it is way complex! So, you see depending on how the Lord reveals Himself to you, some May refer to Him as His 4 letters Y H V H, or YaHaVaH, or Yahweh, or Yahuah.... Then there is also Adonai (Lord/Master), Abba Father, Father, El Elohim (Lord of Lords) or Adonai Tzva’ot (Lord of Hosts/Armies)... 😇 Similar to those who refer to the Messiah as Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Yahusha or Yahshua), Yeshua meaning Jesus (German/English) or Iesus (Greek). Heiser explains in another video the meaning of the 3rd commandment about taking the Lord's name i vain. It is not profanity, cursing or being irreverent as many think. It goes far beyond that. Heiser explains that when someone comes to faith, they are saved and born-again, they "TAKE" the name of the Lord. We call ourselves "Christians". This idea perfectly matches the exhortation of the Apostles to live in such a way that it gives glory to God. For we have His Name!

Should a Christian really follow the example of modern Jews regarding whether to pronounce the name of God? Ancient inspired Jews used God's name YHWH (English Jehovah) all of the time. It is in the Hebrew Bible nearly 7,000 times! (Joel 2:32) "everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved" This is verse repeated for Christians at Romans 10:13. Using God's name is a requirement for salvation. If Jehovah did not want people to use his name he would not have told it to them. (Exodus 3:15) Jehovah . . . has sent me to you. This is my name to time indefinite. Jews not speaking God's name is a misapplication of Exodus 20:7 "You must not take up the name of Jehovah your God in a worthless way." It wasn't commanding not to use God's name at all, but simply not to be disrespectful in using it, such as in cursing or swearing to something falsely. Boaz would say to his field workers, "Jehovah be with you" and they would reply, "Jehovah bless you." (Ruth 2:4) Isaiah 12:4 says "Give thanks to Jehovah, you people! Call upon his name." Sadly, many follow that Jewish custom and have even removed God's name from their Bibles and substituted with "LORD" everywhere YHWH is in Hebrew. The King James only left God's name Jehovah in 4 places. Exodus 6:3; Psalms 83:18; Isaiah 12:2 & 26:4 This has made God impersonal to many and creates confusion as to who is being spoken of since Jesus and others are also spoken of as "lord." Psalms 110:1 Jehovah declared to my Lord "Sit at my right hand . . ." is much clearer than KJV "The LORD said unto my Lord." Luke explains that Jehovah is here speaking to Jesus. (Acts 2:34-36) Saying "God's name is in him" is no endorsement of the Trinity doctrine. Jesus is "the Word of God." He is Jehovah's representative. (John 8:28) Jesus then said . . . "I do nothing of my own initiative; but just as the Father taught me, I speak these things." This does not make him God any more than it makes Moses God. Exodus 7:1 Consequently Jehovah said to Moses: "See, I have made you God to Pharaoh" Verse 2 "You will speak all the things that I shall command you."

In the New Testament, those who have been baptized in "The Name" ... the name of Jesus Christ, have God's name in them as well. See Acts 2:38: “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

Actually you are very wrong but is nothing new for a person who has a desire to prove its own faith to be somehow truth. EL is Ugarit and being a Ugar we have no not much in common with Jews-Greek Mediterranean copy cat culture of merchants since my ancestors where pastoral,TriBAAL warrior coalition. Is there any instance in the old testament or new for that matter where The Word is referred to as The Son before the birth of Christ? It's my understanding that Jesus as the third person in the Trinity was not God's son pre-virgin birth. That would require a mother. He was simply The Word and the avenue through which God revealed himself (Angel of the LORD)This understanding flies in the face of religions that teach Jesus was a created being.The only argument I can find is the semantics of "God so loved...that he SENT HIS ONLY SON "into" the world". Maybe someone could answer this question for me. Did priest have authority on earth to pardon and forgive sins? I was recently in a debate talking about Jesus’ divinity, and I referred to his ability to forgive sins and they rebutted with saying priests could forgive sins and Jesus was just a priest. I know that priest could offer sacrifices on everyone’s behalf to atone for their sins, but were they able to just forgive sins?

Priests were intercessors between God and man. Representatives of God. So if a priest says your sin has been covered or forgiven because of a blood sacrifice or other sacrifice, really it's God who has forgiven the sin or covered them temporarily and the priest is the communicator of that message. Nehemiah Gordon has done some good work in this field of research to show Ye-ho-vah from a grammatical, lexicographic, and historiographical perspective. And over 1,000 manuscripts have the full vowel-pointed pronunciation. It's preincarnate Christ. It's not really a man though he looks like one to other men. He's not a man born of a woman but rather took on a body. I guess the only way to describe this "being" is Angel in the Old Testament. There are certain Mysteries that are only available to us whose blinders have been removed. Is it ok to desire wanting his name in us. I want to experience what the OT called “the Lord came upon him”. Im not talking about just the Acts 2 experience (which Paul said was a worthy thing to want). Im talking about I want my identity to be in Him if that makes any sense. It's because the Hebrew word for angel ("malach") is equally interpreted as messenger in reference to human messengers (Genesis 21:17, Job 1:14, 1 Kings 19:2 all include "malach"). Curiously, the entity who wrestles Jacob is referred to in Genesis 32:25 as a man ("ish"), but when the story is recounted in Hosea 12:4 he is described as an angel ("malach"). I think we can learn from this that an "angel" is better understood as a role than a species. There is also an immense difference between "AN angel of the Lord" and "THE Angel of the Lord".

Doesn't the Hebrew word which is translated 'Angel' also mean 'Messenger' (or Prophet maybe?) - the angel which you Must obey!? This would align with Deuteronomy ch.18 where Moses says that 'Yah will raise up a prophet like me (Moses) whom you Must obey...' and this same passage is quoted by Peter in Acts ch.3 when talking about Yeshua. The 'Angel' of Exodus 23 is Yeshua.... who had 'the fullness of Yah dwelling In Him' !?

The word angel is derived from the Greek word angelos, which means "messenger" And the Messenger (malak) of YHWH' appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. And he looked and saw the bush burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Exodus 3:2 malak a messenger, one who walks for another... The Holy Trinity is the absolute truth about God's Mystery. You see you could have one god, and say it is really a stone or rock. It is a singular thing, but it is not alive. Now you try to say Adam received the " spiritus" or breath of God that he was like dust in the wind, by a vortex, congealed into a life form, a living soul. But yet, Adam was prevented from reaching out to eat the Tree of Life, and so though he has some variant of God's breath, an inferior presence of God, enough to make him a Temporal Being, like a god, imitating God, yet without the the Tree of Life, he had a limited time and would return to dust. Now, in Genesis 1:12 God describes a TREE for the first time. It is a THREE PART MYSTERY. The Tree is a vegetation , it is now known to be caused by the DNA a mathematical blueprint design. So you have a vegetation you call a Tree. But God further points to the Fruit and the Seed of it's own "Kind". Now you have a three part description from God , about what it is that Adam yet needed to consume and eat, to have Eternal Life to ascend and be as God in every possible way, imaginable. . The Tree of Life breaks down to the Holy Trinity , it is a Vegetation or Plant. Even a Vine, as Jesus inferred. The Tree produces FRUIT out on the BRANCH and then in the FRUIT is the SEED, which carries the identical DESIGN as DNA for the entire TREE ENSEMBLE . So the Tree of Genesis 1:12 of the same 'Kind" is GOD, the HOLY TRINITY. and Adam needed the eating of the Fruit of the Tree of Life, to ingest also the SEED that this consumption would add the FULLNESS OF GOD to Adam that he would then be exactly like God in all traits and portents, and also live forever. as does God. You try to make this out to be an "Angel " of God or the "Spiritus" of manifold spirits of God, which are the Archangels, and you fail the test and you are stupid . The TREE by definition by the Precedent of God speaking the Identity of the same kind of a TREE, The vegetation the fruit that grows on branches and the seed carried in the fruit, that fulfills Isaiah 53, the root out of "Dry Ground". To be GOD, you need more than what Adam received, more than the particular limited inferior breath of temporal life that lifted up in the wind and carried the dust by design , though complex enough the fruit and the seed was temporal and Adam died. But Jesus was not made by the inferior complex of temporal angels and breath , or spirits. Jesus is the intimate expression of THE ALL OF GOD, the fullness and the PRIME MOVER , the uncaused cause , the SPIRIT of GOD at REST, with no wrath or distortion that produces temporal outcomes. The Full MERIT of ALL THAT GOD IS BY SPIRIT, the HOLY SPIRIT transfigured out of the Mystery , a flesh image of a man like Adam , though he had not been sired by a man's seed, he is not the process of natural means from Adam, but a FIRST TIME ARRIVAL of the FULLNESS OF GOD , the SUBSTANCE OF GOD without absence of any particular thing, GOD HIMSELF fully came into the form of a man made of dust but this man Jesus was not sired by Adam or his descendants, he was begotten of God the HOLY SPIRIT. So in the Trinity there is precedent to speak of a TREE OF LIFE, not just a FRUIT of LIFE and not just a SEED OF LIFE but a TRILOGY OF PRESENCE, the WHOLE TREE, is a COMPLEX UNITY , and that is revealed in your primary lessons in Genesis 1:12 the TRI PART IDENTITY OF A TREE AFTER IT'S OWN KIND , and then Adam was inferior and had not yet eaten of the Holy Trinity to enter that REALM of existence, and be exactly like God and live forever. So , the CATHOLIC FAITH is absolutely correct, for this was God's own explanation for what defines the fullness of GOD, not an angel of specific but limited portends, but the WHOLE GOD, HIS SUBSTANCE is as a TREE OF LIFE with THREE MATTERS BORNE OF ONE SUBSTANCE, just like the TREE it is all made according to ONE DNA DESIGN , but it branches into a VINE that appears, then the FRUIT appears and the FRUIT carries the SEED, and you need the SYSTEMIC ALL you need this Mysticism of God to have ETERNAL LIFE and be exactly like God and enter Heaven . None of the Angels God ever made ever entered the highest Heaven , and when the Universe expires, the Angels become EXTINCT with the CREATION , since their existence is inferior to the Holy Spirit of God, the FULLNESS of GOD. My friend, you must be unaware of what an apostle is if you believe that their words are secondary to the Lord's. If a prophet speaks and his word is true then it has been given to him to be spoken by God. If one were to disobey what a prophet of God says they would be rebellion against God. An apostle is an emissary they speak on the behalf of the one who sent them. The Apostles of Jesus Christ are filled with the Spirit of God to speak the Words of God and to act on his behalf for the building up of the Church. To claim that the Apostle's words were not also Christ's words and ultimately God's words is blasphemous.
