It’s an incredibly fun and capable driver’s car. The biggest problem: Honda dealerships. Dealerships were listing these for $10-30k over MSRP, and despite prices coming down, it’s sort of ruined it’s reputation as it became the “markup” car, not just an affordable, fun hot hatch.

Former FK8 owner, felt when the Type S came out it was going to be the ride for me. Went to the dealer a few times, just couldn’t connect with it. The body lines are kind of strange, the interior pretty lack luster, kept trying to tell myself “it’s a better Type R”. Finally went back today, did the same dance and said fuck this thing, went and purchased a 24 R LOL. The R is Honda in its purest form, finally embraced that shit. Great video, summed up my exact feelings.

Test drove the type s, bought a type r. Type s felt too soft for me. The sound dampening also made the car feel dull. Also, a popping exhaust is not a good sounding exhaust. People forget the sound and tone of a good sounding exhaust bc all we have are turbo cars nowadays. The type s body work also looked like a body kit and less of a design choice. Both the type s and type r are great, but really just depends what you’re looking for. For me, I like the sound and feel of the car. There are just too many car to choose if you want comfort, so much less if you want a 4 door that is fun to drive.

Bought a new 23 Type R about 2 weeks ago at MSRP - it's becoming a bit easier to find them at that price. I was actually looking for an Si at local dealer and they didn't have any, but had this CTR. They let me test drive it and I made a deal for it that day. No forced accessories or markup. I think they WERE forcing a protection package for it, but it sat for 2 months and maybe my timing was perfect -- I just had to finance through them and they waived it.

I believe excitement comes from being connected and being in control of the car, the more responsive the vehicle is the better. A sports car should ignite your senses in my opinion. These new age cars to technical and based on figures. They are very synthetic and that's do to safety regulations and over compensation for driver errors and inputs. Then there is also the issue with cars have to do everything. More features and gimmicks are redefining what a car is suppose to be defined as in category. For example I want a "sports" car that is fast and handles good, has to comfortable enough for daily driving and also capable of performing on the track. It's has to have all the updated tech with great interior, come optioned with a standard, have an active exhaust system, great value for dollar (affordable and practical) There are so many things that people need in order to be satisfied with a sports car. A sports car in my opinion is emotional luxury art on wheels. It's not a car that does it all, it's a car that reflects the drivers emotional expression. From the way it sounds, looks and feels. Notice that I didn't mention performance. Performance always seeks for ways to improve, thus this brings us to my stunning conclusion. In the pursuit of performance many things are over looked and forgotten. The things that brought us joy and peace of mind are now being replaced with the pursuit of happiness in performance, wanting to prove which car is "better". Its completely ego driven. As time progresses performance is getting better but people are becoming less satisfied with the vehicles, yes they are excited and happy when the car releases and then something new comes along and then the cars are totally forgotten in some cases. There are a lot of "modern" day sleepers. And people find these sleepers based on the nostalgia from previous owners who would say things like "I remember when this car came out it was so quick, good looking, affordable, unique, and reliable. Now a days cars are being to look more and more the same, there to expensive, you can't do lot of work yourself on the car, most cars come with the same standard features. The only thing worth comparing are the stats and figures. Well that's my opinion, thanks for reading, if you have you agree or disagree please comment down below, I'm open for interpretation. 😅

I’m about to buy a 2024 Championship White CTR. Price is 2k above MSRP…however, the dealer Im working with gave me 2k more for my FK8 type R than any other dealer in the area. My area also credits your trade so you only pay tax on the difference. So 2k more for my trade and a 2k tax credit sealed the deal. Not technically MSRP but damn close. I did test drive the Type S. The additional length, more subdued dash, basic seats, and 7k price difference just didn’t convince me. I love the styling of the Type S but I also love keeping 7k in my pocket. I’ll miss the fun and in your face styling of the FK8. But the infotainment was awful, the all or nothing comfort / sport / +R modes meant spent most months (I live in New England) in comfort mode because roads here are brutal. And my FK8 was black. Mean as hell but goddamn, I will never buy a black car again. Throw in the fact that I bought that car at MSRP and just traded it for the price I bought it at and it was a no brainer.
