Why do you think he uses a sling(shot) and has this very strong connection with the giants? David is very much part of his character, he's always fighting metaphorical giants, at least in comparison to his strength, and much more to how he perceives his own strength

I would say it's more likely that Usopp would get a devil fruit WEAPON than just eating a devil fruit wholesale. Maybe he accidentally feeds one to Kabuto, thus finally solving the "feeding the weapon" a devil fruit mystery and telling us how it works. If not usopp than... idk probably someone else

They may be currently separated, but given that One of the Vegapunks, Lilith, is with them and the giants, odds are she knows how to imbue objects with devil fruits, thus it is actaully possible for the strawhats to create objectes empowered by Devil Fruits.

I usually go into these arcs blind. In my experience theories are fun but if you find one you love, and it doesn't turn out to be true it can actually lessen my feelings towards what we actually get. Sometimes I still get sucked in but right now I expect nothing specific for Ussop, just that something will happen for him, and will be content to see what that is.

Usopp doesn't need that big of a big power-up to keep up with the rest of the crew. He is a technical fighter that shines in mid to long range combat so all he needs is a mount to let him get away from close quarter combat sequences that he finds himself in all the time (this will help him come up with plans without stressing out over surviving near death scenarios). We already saw how good he is on a mount when he was on top of Karoo fighting Baroque Works agents in Little Garden so it'll be good to have all of it come full circle in Elbaf. My bets are on him partnering with a giant beetle from Elbaf or Black Kabuto eating an Atlas beetle devil fruit to tie back to his love of entomology. P.S. I really hope he doesn't get any lightning themed attacks because it'll get super confusing with both him, Nami, and Zeus being in the same battlefield.

Oh, this would be cool too! I thought of the Kuro Kabuto getting stronger by eating a branch of Yggdrasil and getting renamed Odin's Beetle (Yggkabuto) because Yggdrasil means Odin's Horse. But if you add an Atlas Beetle Zoan to the mix, it makes even more sense! Could also be a Stag Beetle (Miyama), since that's the reason his slingshot is called Kabuto (the resemblance with the Miyama's pincers), but I do know of the love of Japanese children for Atlas and Hercules beetles, and of those, the Atlas is the one that would be more suited to have a slingshot made out of its horns.

Personally, I think the Observation Haki is a given upgrade, but I think the major upgrade will be a Devil Fruit Weapon. Hear me out: Usuopp gets his slingshot that eats the Mythical Devil Fruit Model Fenrir. Fenrir is a child of Loki and one of the most monstrous beasts in Norse myth, but is usually depicted as some kinda wolf like creature. Usuopp also has the attack Impact Wolf, and this would also allow Oda to use the phrase "a Wolf in Sheep's clothing," which is usually used to describe dangerous liars. Now, how Fenrir appears in story could basically be the biggest Usuopp bully that he's stuck with and picks on Usuopp for being weak, even going as far to taunt enemies from the weapon form to make enemies believe Usuopp said something to instigate fights. Part of the journey could be that Usuopp doesn't know how to fully release Fenrir, but is also afraid of what will happen if he does, but that gives us big payoff for future fights (say against someone who can warp positions but you have high level Observation haki and a legendary wolf nose to track them even if you can't see them). It could also give Usuopp access to Conqueror's Haki, but it's Fenrir's and Usuopp figures out a way to make use of it; that way his lie comes true but keeps the ingenuity of Usuopp's character. I also think it'd be hilarious if Usuopp's slingshot would just argue with him or sprout this little flower that could talk and shoot seeds to get him in trouble when Usuopp wants to avoid a fight. I also think Usuopp might get a moment with a hammer in Elbaf but not get the hammer. Plus, lightning based attacks are Nami's domain, so I don't think Oda will have Usuopp do it too just to diversify their strongest moves. Thor's hammer is probably going to be wielded by a Thor code character (who might even be the princess of this island for all we know)

Oda honestly neglected the strawhats too much the fact that at minimum robin didn't get armament haki when she trained with DRAGON and sabo who are proficient haki users is criminal. brook also deserves some armament too and nami's weather sensing is practically observation haki i dont know why they havent gotten anything. we see literal fodder character get armament and observation but not the strawhat? well done oda.

I like that theory, although I hope lightning isn't over used. Luffy grabbed lightning at one point. And Nami with broken Zeus. The speed of the slingshot is what makes it weak at the moment so I can see lightning shot as a solution. Though Luffy and Zoro's Conqurer's Haki was foreshadowed and build up way way back. Both went through hell gruelling training too. At best the basic use of armament and Ryuo will be enough for Usopp to fight Blackbeard's pure devil's fruit crew. He might awaken Conqurer's haki during the fight with the Blackbeards pirate, but not advanced Conqurer's.

You can't learn Conqueror's Haki you either have it or you don't. And no way Ussop has the "disposition of a king", unlike zoro which was hinted at multiple times and makes sense from his goals and personality.

Maybe the hammer was made by one of the Dwarves and no one on elbaf can use it but Usopp uses it as a slingshot bolt that cam also return. And he can coat it with haki as well.

I think Ussop’s great feat will be a n becoming truly brave, not more powerful. It would be too abrupt for Ussop to go from running scared to knocking fighters around with the big boys. He will likely improve his shooting in some way. And Oda being Oda he will cone up with something completely left field.

Usopp will NOT awaken Conqueror's, Ouji. NOTHING about his character points that way. If he was gonna awaken it, he would've shown some signs of it when at the end of a rope in need of protecting someone else, like when Kuma was scattering them around in Sabaody (and I thought this was also an argument for Zoro not to get Conqueror's, but then I checked, and he was the first one paw-paw'd away, he didn't have the opportunity), or when Ulti was a second away from killing Nami, same as Luffy and Ace did. The one and only argument I see for Usopp getting CoC is the one you yourself debunked: He lied about it at Onigashima. Usopp's journey mirrors Noland. And when I say "mirrors" I mean it literally, it's the exact opposite. Noland started as a botanist, became an adventurer, and died a liar. Usopp started a liar, became an adventurer, and somehow ended up a botanist. Noland's truths became lies, Usopp's lies became truths. If you want a glimpse into Usopp's future, you only need to read Noland's flashback from Skypiea. He will be badass, for sure, but that's the extent of it. Beyond his superhuman resistance and tankiness, that it's usually fueled by a very strong will (and yes, I know haki means willpower, but every Strawhat has the same level of resolve, I shall again reference the scene with Nami and Ulti to prove it) and used for comic relief, he's an everyday guy, and that's by design. But I agree, he will not get Mjölnir, but he might develop a technique named after Mjolnir. As for him getting a new slingshot, that's not gonna happen either. Usopp is a tinkerer, he MAKES his weapons (and up to Zeus joining, he made everything about Nami's weapons too). He made his Ginka Pachinko, and Nami's original Clima-Tact. They went to Skypiea, and he made the Kabuto for himself, and the Perfect Clima-Tact for Nami using Dials. The timeskip happened, and he made the Kuro Kabuto for himself using plants from Boin Archipelago, and the Sorcery Clima-Tact for Nami using Weathearia technology he didn't fully understand. After he showed his Kuro Kabuto was able to grow in Dressrosa, he added the same pop-green growing "technology?" to the Sorcery Clima-Tact. More than him getting some weapon from Elbaf, I see him, perhaps with the help of Franky and Lilith, and even some secret Elbafian blacksmithing technique, improving his current Kuro Kabuto, maybe feeding it a branch of Yggdrasil (yes, his Kabuto is alive, that's why I don't see him swapping it, it would necessarily be a downgrade), and renaming it something like Odin's Beetle (Yggkabuto, in reference to Yggdrasil = Odin's Horse). He might also incorporate seeds of Yggdrasil to his pop-green arsenal. And he can get a new mallet and call it Mjölnir, why not? But it will be just a normal mallet. But the main thing Usopp will get from Elbaf is inspiration, and the ability to see his own strengths.

My idea of Usopp getting a power up is him getting conquers/observation haki,him training his ass off getting buff,him getting new bullets type shit,him getting Thor’s hammer and finally feeding a devil fruit to his sling shot.Usopp desperately needs a power up like everyone got one or doesn’t need one but usopp needs it
