The real LT was leaving training camp at lunch time towards the tail end of his career. The players had just finished signing autographs and were leaving in their cars. LT was in a car with Rodney Hampton and saw my 7 year old son motioning to him because he didn't get his Giants football signed. LT had Hampton stop the car, got out and signed the football. My son hugged his leg and LT patted him on his head with a big smile. My son now lives in Texas, but he will always be an LT and a NY Giants fan. So when you hear about the bad things LT may have done, know that the guy did a lot of good things that went unnoticed.
@JohnDoe-mp1zk6 жыл бұрын
at his core I think he's always been a good guy that probably would hurt a guy unless they pissed him off or they just happen to be a quarterback.

He was like myself & a bunch of the guys I played college ball with. Never meant intentional harm even though being a good natured wildman,sometimes unintended outcomes were pretty crazy.However basically good hearted & NEVER predatory towards others. Except (obviously)when on the field against the opposing team. When you're around someone of true predatory nature there's no debate about it,& the wild young jocks I ran with, nor LT were even close to that.

Doesnt matter if those hits happened in our modern NFL they would throw flags all over the place. Especially if it is Brady getting hit all they do is protect the QB now. We saw dozens and dozens of roughing the passer flags thrown the last 4-5 years in particular that weren't even decent tackles, it was almost like a penalty for even going near the QB

I watched LT play as a kid and anytime I watch old highlights, and I've seen a lot of them, he would've done just fine in today's bs NFL rules. I think I've seen everyone of his recorded sacks and I can't find any helmet to helmet hits. Same when it came to running backs. He was textbook with it. If he came from the blind side, he would either hit center mass or upper back or use his patented swipe at the ball from the blindside causing a fumble then wrap the QB up and take him down. He was the first of his kind to do that. Where do you think James Harrison and Von Miller to name a few learned that? Except they launch with their helmet a lot. Don't see late hits. I don't see him launching with his helmet. He was a beast. The only issues he would have with today's game would be taunting and some roughing the passer. Horse collaring was legal back then. He would've adjusted like everyone else. But that's what makes him great. Greatest of all time. #56 #GOAT #nyg

1:27 LT bull rushes one of the Redskins "Hogs"-- massive 300+ offensive linemen they had in the 80's-- might be Jacoby-- and damn near drives him backwards on his ass-- about 2 yards on the initial contact--- LT was a beast-- too bad today's NFL is such a joke and nobody out there can do what LT did back in the day!!

The way that camera man cowered at 30 secs is hilarious. I don’t know much about NFL, but this guy looks a right monster.
@GSP-765 жыл бұрын
I believe LT was pissed at missing the tackle or getting blocked on the play before...I don't know what was going on in the idiot camera man's head trying to get up close on LT when he was piping hot mad...no coach or staff even dared to do that...they always let him shake it off before talking to him.

Gurvinder Parmar - agreed. In any sport it’s ridiculous to put a camera in someone’s face who is clearly not in the mood.

He just plays with another level of intensity, and you have to, because it allows you to perform at that next level... along with the desire to win... Competition not brings out the best in us, but it brings out the beast as well- but when your away from the game ... you will experience a totally different human being. Love the Game ..
