I haven’t had a to in my house for over 5 yrs now. Now when I watch tv in someone else’s places I see how bizarre the shows are, how vulgar the music is, how women are portrayed,how the lyrics are always abt intercourse. But when we had tv this was absolutely normal. We consumed it on a daily basis. Things that shouldn’t be normalised are being shown on tv almost on an hourly basis. Kids gets exposed to it all the time. It’s pure evil.

Alhamdulillah, i ended to stop tv and listen to haram music with my reverting to islam. Its now 12 years ago alhamdulillah and when i looked back, these movies are strange give you something bad. One of the last movies I saw was hunger games. Often i felt, that movies become realistic, its creepy. You see the way they want to manipulate you and thinking something. May allah protect all of us from this evil things like tv and music and bring us closer to Allah.

Around 3 years ago I realized the references of land of Zion and different gods names in lyrics and people claiming to be a part of a prophecy or whole prophet, and being a heavy music listener I am kind a enjoyer of the art so I started to listen to music without lyrics. The ones I listen to that contain lyrics I make sure the words do not pull me into shirk or arrogant and narrow point of views after this process I only listen to the songs once again if I find them clean and want to enjoy some sounds. Although there are lots of artists I had to cut out but being a rap fan I could not just dismiss Kendrick Lamar, but his lyrics gradually became more demonic and him claiming to be a prophet and the visual styles of videos as he is being praised was a major turn off. Then I started to listening to MF Doom and Ice Cube although they sometimes use slurs which is condemnable they however they do not strafe one out of their philosophical and spiritual beliefs. Before anyone is offended by the comment and telling me to stop all music, I have been there and tried but everyone has their short comings, I am very profane individual who has lived most of his life in profanity so I am unable to completely tune it out however I have toned it down with the best of my ability. I hope Allah may forgive all of our shortcomings.
