Hi, is there anyway to contact you or email you with pictures of a leaf cutting? I just got based on the video and a lot of research I’ve done I don’t think it’s a good cut. It looks like it’s about to put out an all white leaf I can just tell from the little Bump on the side and it’s mainly all white no green 😢 it’s a large note but you can tell there’s been rot at the bottom and she has just cut off the rotted aerial roots. Everyone else’s was wrapped in moss but mine in a paper towel which tells me she was scared of it getting too wet . Idk though smh 🤦♀️

The higher humidity expediting the browning process is new to me! This whole time I’ve thought it was the other way around. Why is that so? Loved the vid!
@prettyingreen2 жыл бұрын
It totally can be both! Too high or too low can create it. I’d aim for 50-60ish %. On the low side it gets crispy, on the high side, the leaves get mushy! Thanks for checking out the vid 😄

Thank you for a very informative video! Do you have any experience with the plant suddenly giving all green leaves, even if it has not been cut? Mine just made two completely green leaves in a row, even though it’s been sitting in the window all summer. Except for the colour, the plant seems happy; leaves are getting bigger and the latest even had two “holes”. Should I be worried the leaves are all green? Thank you so much 🤞🏻😁

Awesome video! I wish I watched this before I cut mine. Mine was putting out awesome sectoral variegation and I decided to chop. Now the mother plant is putting all white lol😅 ..how do you proceed from there? Will it correct itself as it rotates through the stem?
@prettyingreen2 жыл бұрын
Ahhhh dang! I literally have a whole tray of these mostly white or mostly green plants 😭 They unfortunately tend to stick with the colors that the new axillary bud had on it. Just pray there is some balance in color! 😅

I'm growing succulents, Aloe Vera and Catcus. Can I put them in Leca after they have rooted in soil. Also can you do a video on how I would take the care they need.
@prettyingreen2 жыл бұрын
Succulents in LECA might be a challenge since they have very fine roots meant for the desert. But it would be interesting to see if it worked to grow them in a sandy media, and add LECA nutrients! I’ll try and explore this in the future!

So I have one myself, it is a clipping. I had no problem getting it going, however I have what look like roots maybe. That are outside the pot. 2 of them... they are kind of fuzzy like and both are coming off towards the top of the stem. One has a node and the other doesnt?
@christianwendey Жыл бұрын
It's probably aerial roots. You can let it hanging or u can plop it into soil or media to get it grow more roots that is normal vein like

What would cause my Albo to grow unsymetrical leaves?
@prettyingreen Жыл бұрын
It's super common for monstera to grow asymmetrical leaves! Do you mean split down the midrib, left side versus right side?
@crossfitfyr16782 жыл бұрын
So would you cut the wonky new leaf?

I have a node that was gifted to me, it come rooted and it went to root rot now is recovering and it seem like the leave looking thing is going to be all green. Is there a way to fix that or not anymore?
@prettyingreen Жыл бұрын
There’s a way to fix the rot, but not the coloring. I would grow out 2-3 leaves but if they’re all green, that’s that :/

How long would it take for an axillary bud to start showing signs of life (i air layered a part, and cut it off. Even has a leaf with it) I see some videos online where people see growth in the first day already.... o_O
@prettyingreen Жыл бұрын
Ideally you see it swelling in 3-10 days, but I had one just starting to swell after 3 weeks. It does vary

what should I do if my variegated plant if having consistent full moon var, should I cut it?
@prettyingreen2 жыл бұрын
Take a look down the stem and find an axillary bud that lands on a blended green and white part of the stem, then cut just above that! Hope that makes sense 😄
@meganpahl36122 жыл бұрын
What happens if you get some full mood leaves (albino ect) and you don't cut them off? Will this cause problems with the plant? I am preparing to receive some cuttings and I want to care for it correctly. I have to say I am a bit confused here though
@prettyingreen2 жыл бұрын
We honestly leave them on until we find the axillary bud correctly lined up on the stem. Once we get the correct mix of coloring, then we’ll decide to cut! Hope this helps!
@tiffanyboettcher82222 жыл бұрын
If the axillary bud is on an all green part of the stem. And below it is a beautiful white line. Will it still produce a mix of marble, or will it be only green and keep producing only green? Is there a way to encourage a bud partially on the white? Or if anything happens to the exsisting bud its considered a spent node?
@prettyingreen2 жыл бұрын
If you see a white line on the stem just below, that’s a great sign. But if the axillary bud has no variegation, it will most likely remain green-ish. You can let the plant keep growing without cutting, and ideally a subsequent bud will land exactly on the line! I’ve seen this happen!

First mistake..you made a cutting...... chop chop chop. I have one that is about 2 yearsbold...never chopped and EVERY SINGLE LEAF is variegated. The newer leaves are starting to show more white so I may eventually need to cut it.
