In places like that they usually got docs/nurses on staff that keep you comfortable during withdrawal. They can have you sleeping most of the time if they get the right combo of meds, which is a godsend when going through withdrawals. Other places will let you sit in hell for 3 days and then just get you hooked on suboxone.
@ddrarrow Жыл бұрын
@@John-sr2hr hooked on suboxone might not be ideal, but it’s a hell of a lot better than being hooked on something like heroin. People who take it aren’t truly getting “high”, and they don’t constantly up their dosage/seek out more in the face of negative consequences, which are the behaviors that define an addiction. They also don’t risk overdosing and dying, nor do they risk infecting themselves from injections. Comparing suboxone use to heroin/fentanyl/other opioid abuse is actually a textbook example of the difference between dependency and addiction. Also, because the relapse rate is so high with opioid addictions (regardless of whether suboxone is used or not), there is one advantage to being on suboxone - those who take it are not able to get high until they’ve gotten off of it. Buprenorphine is a long acting partial opioid agonist, allowing it to attach to opioid receptors (without producing a noticeable high itself) and block other substances from activating them, the only exception being if a large amount of fentanyl is used. Interestingly enough, this is what anesthesiologists have to do to for patients on Suboxone in order to put them under for surgery. Anyways because of this effect, if someone intends to relapse they have about 24-48 hours to change their mind, cause that’s about how long they have to wait for it to get out of their system.

I like how they show him drinking coke in the scenes immediately after rehab. The second he got out he went to caffeinated beverages which were restricted during his stay. I think it just goes to show that the way we view rehab effects how well we benefit from it; after violating that first, somewhat insignificant “rule” of rehab it’s possible Chris found a way to rationalize breaking the rest of them, which led him back to his addiction.

@poisontoad80074 жыл бұрын
6:10 Brilliant. Carmine says 20%. Tony glances to Johnny, Johnny looks down, Tony says 15%, Carmine agrees. Honor is restored and Tony has manipulated himself into yet another win. This win has the bonus of further cementing he and Johnny Sacrimoni's friendship and business relationship. Brilliantly directed, brilliantly acted.

You can even see that even though Tony needed Chris to get better for the family, he was snarky and jealous that he would become a better man than Tony would and Tony would have to reflect on himself since Christopher did to improve himself. Therefore he later demoralizes Christopher with his getting better and his jealousy was a more prominent feeling and being better was a more undesirable thought to Tony. Christopher was always a competition to Tony

The fact he is already drinking caffeine, the moment he is out speaks to his addictive nature. Even something small like that withheld he can’t wait to have the moment it’s convenient or in his mind acceptable. Good foreshadowing that he would relapse
