Thats the genius of this match setup from his perspective. 1) He knew that WWF knew Bulldogs state at the time but also, the benefit of him main eventing in the UK. Bret delivered on the match and its just so satisfying to watch the dominoes after this fall to the point where he's the top man in the company. It certainly started before this event (some would say shortly prior to WW8 maybe and that piper match where he showed how good of a technical wrestler he was) but I think this is that next level. You don't just review wrestling history, you go to great lengths to give us accurate accounts for wrestling angles, eras, even for those affiliated with the business. Sir, I really do enjoy your channel to the full; I watch wrestling only on the weekends (that way I don't get burnt out and it stays special, kind of like a rewarding system), and I can go to your channel and find any answer to any question I may have about where I'm getting caught up. I can't say I know how hard you work on each video, I don't create content, but I do see how much passion you put into them and I also know these things take lots of time to work on (especially with your Reliving The War series you're currently working on), but I noticed you didn't have anything on Ric Flair's personal yet. You've probably got his career retrospective on your to-do list already, however I thought I'd shout out a recommendation anyway. What really surprises me is that they never did it again I know there has been a few UK PPV's but nothing as big as Summerslam 92 I'm sure if they had held a Wrestlemania in the UK it would have been a great success

I was 10 years old. This SummerSlam was the best ever and also 1992 was the best wrestling year of all time!

I was there. I couldn’t believe that we had finally got one of the biggest WWF shows of the year held in England. Half an hour on the underground from my house as well, lovely!!

That was awesome I bet! My brother and I were fortunate to watch on Pay-per-view (we cut grass over the summer and saved up to watch). It looked crazy cool though. Outside, enormous crowd, in Wembley. It was historical.

@@davinburk487 it was bloody amazing!! I was still young enough to think most of it was real. Storylines and that I mean. I'm so glad I went, it was historic as you rightly mentioned.

@@davinburk487 I went there, Wembley stadium, about 3 months before Summerslam, to watch the football European Cup final. Which would mean more to us British and European people than Americans. The WWF definitely made the right choice, bringing it to England.

Imagine the business they could've done over here during the attitude era if we had another proper ppv at Wembley, Twickenham or Hampden. Great times watching WWF/WWE via videos in the 90s growing up in the UK.

Oh wow! Never knew or noticed the fans making a huge Union Jack. Thats pretty cool. WWF(E) always had great set and logistics people. The Manis Sets the last 14 years or so have been some of the bests in any sports or music events. Well except Mania 36..

My favorite Summerslam. I was 12 and my friend always invited me to watch Slams and Manias. This show was the peak of my youth wrestling fandom.

I wasn't alive when this happened, but being from the UK I bet it was absolutely incredible! We deserve another major PPV one day, our fans are unmatched and no matter what city you're in, it would top any city in the USA for fan atmosphere, hands down.

If they had done more big PPVs in the UK during the New Generation Era, they wouldn’t be bleeding as much money as they did after KOTR 1993.

Thank you for this cool video about my all time favorite PPV. Watched this on the Balkone ones by placing the tv behind the window. That was fun & i'll do it again this summer 😎👍

The back stage promos were all preshot in USA, they did that to save time as the locker rooms always looked the same.

I was there. Travelled down on the bus from Newcastle with my Dad who hated wrestling. We sat right up in the nosebleeds and my Dad could tell I was a little gutted I couldn’t see the wrestlers up close, so we sneaked past security about halfway through and we ended up sitting on the floor around 10 rows back! I always remember the noise of the LoD music hitting.

Also having attended Summerslam 92, The Warrior absolutely got the largest pop/reactions for the event. Even more than the main event.

I was at Summerslam 92, I was 13 at the time. The event was shown on Sky Sports on the Monday 31st August after the Saturday. It was a bank holiday. The Premier League had it's first season in 92/93 and Sky had the rights and that is when Monday Night Football took off. I recorded the show and after the HBK v Model match they went to the first advert break. Instead of going back to Summerslam they did a premier league update show. This took out the Crush v Repo Man match out. I Remember Richard Keys saying you'll forgive us for interupting Summerslam. I still haven't.
